THE DROUGHT IS OVER by George on the Outer - POST MATCH DISCUSSION
Dr. Gonzo replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
There's been a lot of love for Oliver and he was very good, but I thought Petracca was outstanding. Could haunt the Saints for the next decade. -
Problem for smaller clubs like ours is it hurts the club more than the AFL

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND 1

It's insurance - if the worst possible happens and Gawn goes down he can step in -
TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND 1
Dr. Gonzo replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm a bit bemused by Hannans selection but then I was bemused when Hunt was selected against the Pies last year as well. -

Take out Gawn at training -
We already have one http://www.aflfans.org.au

I thought Bennett left to go be a Hall of Fame punter with the San Diego Chargers; I didn't think we "retired" him
-
They're away games - do you think we should play every single week at the G? Seriously some people

Cutting off your nose to spite your face

I thought the most exciting part was the crashes?

Your loss, you'll miss a famous win on Saturday
-
That was ridiculous but to be fair it was a dead rubber on father's Day. Still you wouldn't expect a worse crowd than the under 18 nationals
-
Trains iffy? It's right next to Southern Cross station where literally every train in the state runs through. Ticketing can be a pain but if your a member with away game rights or you just buy ahead of time it's a cinch. I can understand not being able to make every game (hell I don't) but to choose not to go based solely on Docklands as the venue is ridiculous as far as I'm concerned

The remaking of Brendan McCartney - Herald Sun
Dr. Gonzo replied to Cheap Seats's topic in Melbourne Demons
They were better than WCE Hawks and Cats, I'd have them top 3 with GWS and Swans. They are not the 7th best team this year or last -
Melbourne supporters who complain about going to Docklands when we are the away side are the worst. It's literally a few ks from the G and in the CBD. It's not like going out to Waverley in the middle of nowhere in the old days or suburban grounds unfit for humans like Moorabbin or Vic Park
-
Steve I generally like your posts but you want Hogan to play on Riewoldt? That's gotta be one of the craziest things I've read on here.
-
I just scan in to Docklands games with my AFL membership and Ive never had to queue. If you've reserved tickets and have already printed them off there shouldn't be any reason you have to queue but someone else might relay a different experience
-
Considering we're reliant on their funding I'm pretty sure the club would care what they think
-
To be fair most Melbourne supporters have wiped that round 1 game from memory. 2.8.20 in the wet in Perth with a load of expectation following the unceremonious loss to the Eagles in the 1990 finals series. Diabolical.
-
Missed one running into an open goal square and then dobbed one from 45 metres out on the boundary on his left minutes later.
-
They've agreed to it it will be announced just prior to round 1 or on the Friday following the Blues/Tigers so it will get lost in the news cycle
-
Are you an AFL member? My understanding is the wing on the interchange side is AFL member reserve and the wing on the opposite side is stkilda members reserve

Melbourne's Communication and Online
Dr. Gonzo replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's a shame considering we really need to be reaching out to the younger generations of supporters. Our membership base is skewed towards the elderly which may be why they think it's not worth investing in but it's the lost opportunities for tapping into the youth markets that could hurt. -
They have 4 Tassie games so interesting to see if they get those replacement games. Otherwise it would be an upgrade from 3 games to 7, rather than 3 to 11.
