  1. Unless we get a godfather offer or another key forward coming in we should hold him to his contract. Even if we end up getting less for him at end of 2025 it gives us two more years to have a crack at a flag with him while Gawn, May, Viney are still around. You gotta strike while the irons hot, no point planning for the future when now is the time to win flags.

Can see multiple people beat me to it. I had the 4K come up on Kayo diagnostics. Honestly couldn't tell the difference from the 4K and HD. i have a 65 inch OLED using an Apple TV 4K.

I have noticed a lot of buffering issues with Kayo so far this year - never had this issue previously.

I used to have buffering issues on android tv but apple tv was fine, since last year it seems the reverse, quality drops/buffers on apple tv but android tv app seems pretty reliable (though was a bit blocky early in the Dogs game).

Someone mentioned on Demonland that the increase in score reviews is being said to be related to advertising time. Well David King on SEN basically said the same. He has a suspicion that advertising is playing a part (as well as goal umpires seemingly being afraid to back themselves in)

I wonder if the memo to goal umpires has been something like: ‘if there’s even 0.0001% doubt, go to score review’

No ads, siren to siren - except for the crypto ads during the 4 score reviews each quarter 😉

The ridiculous thing is that reducing the number of players to 16, would massively open up play and probably result in more fast play, more running and bouncing, more open forward lines, potentially more goals, etc.

Less players will be able to commit to the contest on-ball, creating more open play, and space to run into if they do get too close.

It could shift back to more man on man play, as zone defence gets too hard to play with extra area and distance to cover per player.

It certainly isn't going to add congestion and stoppages.

It would force teams to go man on man because total zone defense would become close to impossible with the grass needed to be guarded greater than the ability of players to make the next contest.

When Tassie comes in there will be more one sided matches and more sub standard games. The talent pool will be stretched even further than now.

They could help this by reducing the number of players on field to 16, 15 or even 14. Would reduce the congestion we see too. They won't do it though.

So they’re adding one more home and away game at the expense of that weekend of meaningless match simulations.

    What’s the issue?

Those meaningless match sims will just occur a week earlier

  7. Maybe it is better but it's just marginal so hard to tell? I guess there was more definition in the grass etc but the actual game it was difficult to see much difference.

Maybe if I had a bigger tv I think mines 55"

I've seen what its like on Foxtel but not Kayo yet. Will have to test it out.

Are you using a Smart TV app or chromecast/Apple TV?

    Sony tv app

Edit also apple tv but that's on an older not 4k tv

  9. So are we likely to get an answer on the salary cap situation any time soon so we can start our list management strategies and potential targets to chase for next offseason? Or will the AFL keep us guessing til the last minute and pull a decision out of their [censored] which is their usual MO?

Yes, increased midfield time for Kossie is great, but he's our best small forward. Kinda robbing Peter to pay Paul, especially watching BBB and others create multiple crumbling opportunities today

If Chandler, Billings and ANB can remain dangerous Koz and Trac can share mid/fwd rotations

  11. A comprehensive performance after a jittery first 5 minutes or so. The leaders really stood up and Windsor showed he has the tools to be something quite special. A clean bill of health and a dominant win on a glorious day, what else can you ask for 😈

Brown really straightened us up, now the question is who makes wy for Petty? A much better mix of smalls as well with Koz, Billings and Chandler rather than Chandler, Spargo & Laurie

yeah true i went a bit hard there. but it’s no longer one of the best in the comp. No macrae and no dunkley, they don’t bat very deep.

Yeah didn't realise McRae was out but with Bont Libba Treloar and the new kid and guys like vandermeer chucked they're still decent.

From the outset I’ve said I can’t read the article because it’s behind a paywall, therefore I can only comment on what Kate said AT THE SEASON LAUNCH. And that’s precisely what I’ve done.

Luckily for you I copied the relevant quotes from the article so you can inform yourself and stop attacking people who are commenting on the MFC's presidents quotes in the article.

    I stopped reading after this.

I know what I heard Kate say.

This column approached Roffey to provide further context. And the president did exactly that.

“Collingwood members set the benchmark when it comes to achieving huge – and let’s be honest – noisy crowd attendances; and that is a benchmark we want to chase,” Roffey told this masthead.

“The crowd at a game makes a huge difference - especially a noisy crowd giving their team 100 per cent support. I’m not sure supporters realise how much difference it does make to players on the field - but it matters a lot to them. When the MCG is full and our members are making lots of noise it gives the players a massive lift out on the field.

“I will keep encouraging every Melbourne supporter to play their part by getting to games, by being louder in the stands - and getting behind their players whether the team is five goals up or five goals down - because it does matter.

Don't listen to me, listen to Kate.

    That moment has passed.

Maximum trade value was last yr when he was still in contract. Mid-ish first rounder is what the offer will be otherwise they’ll threaten to take him to pre-season draft where everyone will baulk at his heavily front-ended deal and desire to be back home.

Goodwin gambled on him being a critical piece in a premiership tilt this year. I don’t blame Goodwin, but it isn’t looking great for us at the moment.

He is still contracted until the end of 2025. We still hold the cards but if we don't trade him this year he becomes a R(?)FA at the end of next year.

That a president is trying to drum up support through the media? Isn't it obvious?

I don't understand why that's a problem. Isn't that part of her job?

Edit: nevermind saw your post above 😄
