Narrowing in on either Grimes or Trengove for Captain
mordja replied to mdemonski2's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not that I think an AFL captain needs to be a genius but insert Chip Frawley here. -

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
mordja replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Assuming Viney doesnt get further injuries it is a fairly "riskless" move to offer up a first round pick for Viney. Best case for bidding club: They get Viney who is a top ten pick Worst case: They force us to use a first round pick Other clubs would be crazy not to force our hand. -

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY

Or he was steadying for the kick and had good awareness.... -
Interesting to read the negative sentiment to Cale working on a fairly obvious problem he has had for years. FWIW - Stef Martin's flatmate (until last month) was telling me that he had to take it upon himself to seek help outside the club to develop his body. One presumes the club has input on this, but it's obviously not done Stef any harm and I would welcome similar physical developments in Cale (not suggesting he is capable of bulking up to the same size, nor that he needs to).

You have to admire the straight down the line nature of Misson. No magic, clear structured process, easy for footballers to understand. If he's happy with the progress then I'm happy

Thanks to those who reported from training. Much obliged as I'm normally stuck at a desk.

If you go up swan st (under the railway bridge) there is a heap of parking there, normally on the south side of the road. I used it when I went to the first training for the year and there was about 10 un-used 2 hour bays. At that time of day I suggest you will find plenty of free parking in and around there.

For those wondering on Tapscott, he had another op on his hip to check and clean out (far less invasive than the last and was apparently planned from outset). He will be fully involved soon all going well.

I love the off season....these issues apparently "matter".

I wont care after our second flag.

Agree Grimes is 22 (23 next year) and has had a heap of injuries (the back issues are apparently in the past and lets hope Misson can do some work on his soft tissue problems). Given how long MFC persisted with blokes like Miller, surely we can give a bloke as courageous and skilled as Jack a fair crack. I'll be worried if he's 24-25 and we are getting similar output, however I highly doubt it. Jack will leave no stone unturned to be his best.

Re Juice. Someone said it earlier, perhaps the club has forgotten he's on the list and Juice is keeping very freaking quiet. Playing as Defence : wont get a game Midfield : wont get a game Ruck : Behind Jamar, Martin, Gawn, Clark (maybe spencil) Forwards : Behind Watts, Jurrah, Clark, Dunn, Bate, Petterd, Green, Martin, Howe I just have no idea how this bloke is on the list. None.

Wont play in our defence and I question what he has to add to our FWD line and who else he would hold out. If you were talking about a midfielder that could offer something, maybe, but don't think Bevan has much to offer.
