Bruce's kicking does, has and always will hold him back. He is not a reliable kick. In fact he is worse than that on occasion. He is however one of our best and should not (will not) be dropped.

the result was pretty sickening, i was happy when it was obvious that cornes was ok. But the tackle was fair and not intended to do that damage, just unfortunate result. Pickett will go for being Pickett. Pickett hasnt played well because he hasnt played. Can't deny that i have a lack of faith in his motivation if he cant even stay fit rather than entering pie eating competitions.

Jones showing early signs of being as good.

tend to agree dees rule.... technically there....fevola got a simlarly soft one the other night. ruining our game how soft its getting..... is this soccer?
-
sorry dont get me wrong. its great that at least the MCC are there to support. And im not in any way blaming the MCC for the crowd....that can only be blamed on lack of ticker from some MFC member.
-
completely agree Jaded you must have been near us. pathetic. and I want a premiership....you are right you were all there, can you talk some of your mates into buying a membership. appreciate there are some great genuine supporters that cough up for the extra but lets not pretend its the majority.
-
not surprised...just upset....if we can make it with a hangover that could kill a cat, the least we can do is post 20K for that game.
-
after having to stop harcourt climbing the fence at the end of the game im a little tired.....he was f@#$ing shocking. What is with the turnout? what p!ss weak supporters we have.....17K....what a joke. MCC packed, probably 5 members between them. petterd was fantastic though...going to be a star.

Sat on the first tier right behind the goals, next to the SCG Beiruit stand. With not a whole lot to take away from the game I make the following observations; - it was good to see Miller go straight to Barry Hall and have a pretty amusing "hi how are you?" - Petterd showed more poise and composure than any other young kid ive seen step up in the last 3-4 years. The quarters are blurred for me but he did a beautiful baulk / side step then a lace out pass near the middle of the game, cool under pressure, definite future. - Jamar has either gotta start kicking it straight or just stop pretending to be a fwd. magnificent mark out near the fifty on said beirut pocket, then a complete spray to the far behind post, useless. - Was pretty happy with Davey's performance, good to see him getting more of the ball. - How bad is Garland's picture when they show the teams on tv / big screen, he looks like a complete freak and nothing like he does in reality.....have another crack at it son.

As a supporter who turns up week in, week out, and is flying to sydney this weekend, I refuse to rise to the moronic taunts of toothless bogans. Good of them to remember the queen's birthday game, I have fond memories of it last year as well. And didnt they give up a 30 point lead three years ago for us to roll them....ahh good times.

Yep, heading up there with another MFC mate. Should be amusing.....trying to hold out a little hope.

Dunn....play him, persist with him. He will get better and he is the future. He looks like he could have a great future.
-
Was at the game, he really needs some work. Stats irrelevant. He was clanger city. I dont think we can afford to drop him, at least he works hard. Give it 6 weeks and i highly doubt he will be playing. I was a big fan last year. PS - unfortunate for Bell who i thought had a good game until he was smashed.

1 on the bench at half time, lock me in for a loss eddie.

FWIW I dont see how a bidding system, where an equal bid by the F/S club outranks the opposing offer, defeats the purpose. IMO - it seems reasonable that where kids like T Hawkins, who would potentially have gone first round, are picked up under the F/S rule the club receiving the kid shouldn't essentially get two first round picks.

"They Say the Darkest Hour is Right Before the Dawn"

nice post.....cheers -
Agree, but believe they should have settled it themselves not dragged it through as a public issue. Its an embarrasement for both of them.

Ok, I'm not going to pretend that I think its ok to say something like that about someones family, especially a 6 yo daughter. But lets look at a few things. Selwood said it to get a reaction and get inside his head, I'm sure that anyone who has played a contact sports has done something simliar (at a far lesser extent)...you hit like a girl, you tackle like a p$ssy whatever. Headland is a complete moron for going after him on the field. Selwood isnt the first, and he wont be the last to use a vial and wrong sledge, but Des is probably one of the first i can remember dropping the "but he started it by calling me a name". He should have demanded an apology after the game or snotted him then. How many times do you think people have used sledges like this in the past? Only then it was sorted out properly or the player took his medicine at the tribunal. I would be embarrased to have a quote like that in the paper about any family member, let alone a child.

my hint would be sitting there scratching his nuts with one touch for the first quarter and his next in the second coming halfway through would be an indication of disinterest.

REVEREND ON THE FOOTY SHOW AFTER THE BREAK!!
mordja replied to Yze_Magic's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not only is that amusing...but you'd probably stand a chance of being selected if you were listed with MFC. -
Apparently our clock has no 12 oclock...it just goes from 1 - 11

yep definately saw that. Have to agree that umpiring had nothing to do with the result, bad decisions both ways all over the ground. On a seperate note its becoming an incredibly soft game as more and more umpires wish to become "actors" in the game and draw themselves into the spotlight with the players. Its like those useless umpires which direct the players to "get it out" or "eyes on the ball". Shut up you [censored] maggot, uve likely never played and you are payed to adjudicate not coach (........end overly exited rant.)

Sorry but we were in nowhere near this bad shape last year at rd 2. Im not going to make prophetic suggestions, but we are in trouble
-
sensational news.... glad his development wont be stunted too much this season by missing a heap of games.

say whatever you like about his footy. i love Philthy's niggle
