This topic came up on another thread. I think he just doesnt have it..... Given this is the year of blooding and rebuilding I couldnt give a toss who we give a chance to, but there is no way known he would be getting a game in a half competitive side. IMO Keep using him until we are sure if he is a dud or not. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see him playing in R&B after this year. FWIW I dont think Frawley has what it takes yet either, but I do think he will develop with bulk.

Sorry mate, Bode was almost the centre of my concentration yesterday (ive been wondering how he has been getting a game for a while and made sure i focused on him). He is yet to play a game that i would rate over mediocre. Decision making was ordinary yesterday, couldnt keep up with his player when marking and doesnt read the flow well. Really hope he sharpens up and may well get another game but he was very ordinary yesterday. Morton's brain fades took the spotlight off him.
-
Dont feel bad mate, I remember him playing in Sydney when I went up there to watch us get a new bum inserted last year and he was very ordinary. Hold in mind he was overshadowed by Ricky Petterd who looked good in the same defeat. (please come back soon Ricky) I dont remember if this was his first game, but it was one of his first. I'm sure he will see 08 as the start of his career, not his first couple of games. love his endeavour (Warnock not far behind IMO).

IMHO Captains should do "team lifting" things and show guts. Brock works hard and gets a heap of it but he is not YET captain material. Brad Green (much against my judgement back in 06/07) is the only player worthy at the moment outside of JMac. The bloke tried to neck himself three times last night and never stopped trying. He is skillful and athletic and is something to be aspired towards. On a side note, Yze is a selfish disgrace, expensive or not [censored] him off.
-
We would be taking the [censored] playing Bode in a half competitive side. But we arent and hopefully we can unearth some talent by persisting with the kids.

Yep, you definately disproved my point that there are other alternatives. And none on free to air either (before the game, classifieds etc).

You are doubling back. I agree completely that nine are removing Newman due to legal issues and corporate support. My argument is that the footy show is successful in part (if not larger) from Newmans success as being an A grade clown. Nine should have more backbone to get behind their man. What I object to is people carrying on purely because they disagree with sams opinions. If Sam tells it straight (as he sees it) then good on him. Im not inclined to agree with what he says a lot of the time, and yes he should be reprimanded (or fined / sued) if he crosses the line but most of us are adults, it is in an adult time slot and we should defend to the death his or anyones someones right to speak out. After all, that is what Nine has encouraged him to do for years.

Obviously a Statistics major. Your sample size of a month is hardly going to provide you with a conclusive finding. I havent been able to watch it recently because I've had other obligations. The premise of your argument is that every person not watching is 100% to do with Sam and couldnt possible be seasonal, or controlled by any other factor. For memory we had a round off for the Dream Team vs Vic, hardly going to find our your team selections etc that week.
-
what a load of absolute tripe. If you dont like Sam then watch one of the other 90 AFL shows on foxtel each week. If you dont like Sam then dont watch the Fugging show. Get a grip and get over yourself, he is there to be controversial not to read you a bloody bedtime story. So if he makes you uncomfortable by being a little in your face go watch something else. Nine are p!ssweak taking him off the air and trying to disassociate themselves from legal action. The bloke has earnt them good ratings for years and is more than partially responsible for his antics. Sure as hell we didnt turn on the footy show to see Eddie bignote the magpies, Gary do nothing for our club or pretty boy strut his stuff (......maybe Billy being a fool but thats beside the point). Mr Moose had it in one, the soccer mum vocal minority are wildly at play in this one.

Dead set oxygen thief. nuff said.

No problems at all. Agreed, Jeff seemed ready to go.

Speaking to Dean Bailey last night he said that he though Morton would end up in the midfield when he put on some bulk. I think its a size issue. Cale morton looks like he has more time than most footballers when he is in possession, when he gets a bigger engine and some size he will be something to contend with.

Attended the MFC premium members event last night. Firstly a great event attended by Bailey, Rivers, Bruce, Sylvia and White. Bailey also said that Aaron wouldn't be playing this weekend as he tweaked his hammy at training. Probably opens up a spot for Sylvia who was bouncing around at the event. Spoke with Rivers who seemed to think he would be up and about this week as long as his training goes ok today. Also asked him about his continuous injuries and told him that, as my favorite player, it was simply unacceptable. He explained that he has shaken the OP plaguing him last year and that it was just a one week niggle and that he would be right this week. We was also stoked for Garland and Warnock that they are doing so well. All the other boys were good to have a chat to but Bailey / Rivers the most open to actual conversation. Beyond that , Saw Petterd in the demons shop before the Hawks game on Sunday and he indicated he was back doing virtually full training. Dean indicated that he thought Ricky would get a game in 3-4 weeks. Apologies if any of the above is not new news.

AnyBody out there hear Dr Turf on SEN this Morning?
mordja replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
I went to the Leighoak to watch the crows game on the weekend, happy to spend some money for the club rather than just watch at a mates who has fox. Gotta be honest though, that place is sterile as all get out. The seating area in front of the two LCD's (which they couldn't even centre the image until quarter time), is OK but really shouldn't be in the middle of a thoroughfare. The dining area down the bottom is more like an old peoples home, or a bingo hall, no atmosphere at all. And why exactly do you have to order the food seperate to the bar where you order drinks, thus having to wait for the staff to finish serving at the lower bar and then walk over to the food counter..... A little more thought needs to go into it. Im not surprised its not making money. I will persist with it because im more than happy to help the club, but our off field management skills are concerning. -
Dud...trade him now...enough said.

If they offer a quality water boy/girl for Miller, take it. Offload the lightweight while he has any form of currency. I am highly surpirsed that CAC and obviously Bailey see greater things for Frosty..... From what Ive seen he is not a CHF's a$$h0le (IMO) and a worse Key backman. I will also be first in line to admit I am wrong if it comes to fruition but IMO this smacks of amateur list management.
-
basically its not connolly so its a success. We needed new blood and a cleansing, I only hope it continues at the end of the season by removing the dead-weight downhill skiers in our list. Go Dees, this is the start

Happy to see him having a crack. Would rather he learnt now when it doesnt matter, got used to taking some blokes on, rather than nervously handballing it for fear of getting pinged. McLean and Jones and do whatever they need to progress this year, given the amount of times they have been pinged for it in the last few weeks I reckon they must be under instructions to play that way. You wont break lines and tackles like Judd does if you never learn and make a few mistakes
-
Can anyone elaborate on Robbo? how long he is expected to be out etc.... Cheers
-
Cant see how you would get rid of him.... Injury prevented any real progression last year. Last 3 games have been good. 29 poss on the w/e, 25 effective (according to SEN), he kicks it long and direct which is a great attribute and we should see more of it. Sunday was our second highest stat for long kicks (not sure of the definition here, again stated on SEN), Wheatley's contribution can not be underestimated. However.... All of the above is null and void if we get a decent young player offered in return (or as part of a deal), he may not be in the best 22 if MFC is to win a flag in the next 5 years, but at the moment who would you put in for him?
-
I have a 17 game membership. What do i need to do to get a ticket ? Cheers

Bruce was third best behind Green and Bell. Regardless, he is an amazing player and incredibly fit. But damn it all I would give Bruce and Y_M's right nut for Judd. Anyone who wouldnt give up one our our middle age/older players for Judd is the exact reason we will protract our mediocraty and wont win a flag in the near term. Ideally I would keep bruce and green, but should the option come, you know deep in your heart if Judd or Pavlich were on the trade table, there would be very few players not considered as bait.
-
well written, done oracle
-
No. Flat out No. Sh!t kick, and we have all the loose defensive players *coughwardcough* we need.
-
I should expand that to say kicking under pressure in play. Bruce is a great athelete, reads the play well, is a natural ball magnet and his disposal by hand is typically great. His set shot for goal is fair (but will never be compared to green), he has a great football brain and is a fantastic tagger. His kicking in play still leaves a lot to be desired
