  1. good post two sheds, I concur
  2. I want to believe that you are taking the p!ss , but i just cant see how you can be. He was joking mate.
  3. Yes , Jack is god.
  4. Grimes is easily my favorite player but Id prefer to see Green have it for two years, then hand it over. JG could benefit highly from the VC role but i think the Captain could be too much.
  5. Let it go, Nik Nat this week, none of MFC good enough this time
  6. Sylvia is significantly shorter than Newton. They make no sense as a straight swap...and who do you have as second ruck? Dunn? IMO - Newton should stay until Watts or Jurrah return
  7. Simply can not drop Joel Mac after last week, he was very good. I also couldnt see them dropping Scully. McKenzie and Bennell would be stiff to miss so Newton seems likely to miss with Cheney and spencer for mine.

    J.Grimes

    man crush....dead set man crush.
  9. are We trying to achieve meaningless wins (eg wins without developement) or trying to get experience into young kids I'd be trying to play TS as much as we can and rest him when he starts to get tired (which inevitably will happen later in the year)
  10. WTF are you talking about? What do you expect that to achieve? Why on earth would we rush Watts now. Can we get some sanity in here?
  11. Cheers, I needed a laugh. Do you smoke it or take it in the arm?
  12. Jack Grimes saved our ass all day today, then just hits people on the [censored] with his disposal. What a champion. We have a long way to go but there are unmistakeable signs of us advancing. Go Dees!
  13. Trenners got heaps of it and improved in the second half, however had a lot of turnovers in the first half believe Bastinac was more impressive
  14. It's been a long time since ive thought we were a good chance to win. C'mon Dees, keep the effort up.
  15. Overreact much? Ricky is one of a dozen midsized forwards that have shown glimpses. What about Patrick Dangerfield? no offense to Ricky but if i was GC I know which one id be gunning for. He's not going anywhere. Is anyone paying attention to the already publicised fact that MFC are paying 100% of salary cap to front load good players? IMO - I dont think that Ricky is there yet, he has shown glimpses and for the first time looked comfortable against a reasonable backline, but its paying 100-1 for him to leave. Go Ricky, go Dees.
  16. amen.
  17. Good of you to speak on behalf of "most people". Im not saying he cant play football, im saying that to this point he has shown zero potential to break out like Sylvia. Sylvia has always had great endeavour for the ball, aggression towards the opponent and can break lines. Although Dunn may have potential, so do I, but you wont see me going through the banner on the weekend.
  18. you are taking the p!ss right? He's been tried in more positions than Madonna and hasnt been any good in any of them.
  19. also agree, some sense at last. Good result and kudos for Ricky getting back up when he remembered where he was. We all want some contact at the end of the day.
  20. no problems at all. I am lucky enough to have sampled some of the pork tonight! Would also strongly recommend the MFC future fund to anyone who isn't a member. Well run last year by Sima and Jacko, I'm sure the new boys will do well. Great opportunity to get some face time with the boys, for some reason a lot of people seem shy to do so.
  21. I spoke to Jack W at the Future Fund function. After dispelling any rumours of 'shaggers back' he went on to say that the two problems (quad/back) are/may well be related but it did stem from his quad. He said that after the initial quad strain had cleared up he kept feeling it, so kept telling the docs that his quad was still sore, however they couldnt find anything on the scans, then his back got inflamed and they did further scans and found the quad still had issues so rehabbed that. He was very adamant that the injury was/had cleared up and shouldnt give further issues. CC indeed said that Jack would have played NAB Cup Rd 1 if it was Rd 1 of Home and away. As an aside Jack seemed in very good humour, he finds it amusing that Nik Nat gets so many comparisons to him when Jack isnt even on the park. But he is certain he can make an impact when he gets out there and is longing to have people reconsidering their thoughts. I asked him how he felt re not full training and was he losing ground fitness/size wise, he seemed to think that his reduced training + rehab was harder work and building him up more than just training would Seeing Jack a few times last year in person and then again last week, he is certainly getting larger. Forced eating is how he described it. I tried to give him Harcourt's Meat tray but he was already into it. Also spoke at length to Jack Grimes who has to be one of the most stand up blokes ive met. Although he speaks better than he did a year ago, he has zero attitude or arrogance. Out of interest he swears he isnt worth 508k on supercoach, though im not so sure.
  22. Didnt take long to get a rubbish "sack the coach" thread up did it?
  23. Sorry, I must watch the wrong team....when did we last have our best 22 on the field? Players like Martin will have no problems getting a game if fit and playing reasonable footy. As for whether you see him in a few years.... Not many would have had chip in that list either.
  24. If we all agreed, this would be a very boring place. IMO Newton has been a dud, I hope he improves but I would have preferred to take a younger option. That said the decision was made by the club to give him 2 years probably as a knee jerk reaction to Neitz retiring and a weak FWD line. This was the stupid decision (with hindsight), from then on the club has been fulfilling promises to him which i dont hold them responsible for post the decision. I hope he improves but dont see it happening. You either want to be there or you dont, Juice always looks ho-hum.
  25. impatience. rarely do people work better under intense pressure or being forced to play/coach for their jobs. id rather DB was coaching for the long term interests of MFC as opposed to guarding his own back and trying to win games short term by not blooding players.
