  1. Very tough decision given the pros and cons, alba...but only just
  2. Solid effort and not getting flogged is good enough. Move on to the Carlton game.
  3. send him on holiday with aussie's folks....
  4. understand the sentiment but it really doesn't matter. Take a rest vs Geelong, smash CFC the following week. MRP have been rubbish for ages, ceased being shocked well before now.
  5. Nothing an Anchorman quote wont fix.
  6. why didnt you just call the thread "come polish my ego by agreeing with my unrealistic opinion" ? No chance now. Different results to WB and Collingwood and I would have agreed.
  7. Happy to come from this angle rather than the alternative which is Carlton a couple of years ago, all attack and no defense. Being miserly in D is the best position to come from, far more consistent.
  8. nice call. She probably wouldnt have argued the point as hard either.
  9. Top work JB. Go Dees
  10. They were made after the game. Matthews is just trying to get himself noticed. He was shouting down Watts last year and is just perpetuating the myth this year. The bloke is off the mark here and will (im sure) be reminded of it down the track, only to try and twist it into something else. Its just like he played footy, a great player but prone to throwing cheap shots.
  11. I dont hate the changes, but I dont see who is there to backup Jamar.
  12. Im not sure how Morton can be behind Gysberts. Id love to see Jordan get a game, but I struggle to see Morton being overlooked if he is right to play.
  13. If it takes a couple of up and down games for some of these fools to shake out their expecatations that Bailey would walk in and BANG! a team of kids would win a flag, then so be it. Learn from mistakes by all means, but the team has shown several times this year that we are developing a game plan that can perform very well. Sure we are going to lose a few, but why on earth did people expect different, Bailey sure didnt promised not to lose.
  14. really enjoyed reading that....thanks As many have said, when people start envying us, and then hating us, we are probably doing something right.
  15. Dont think this has been posted anywhere else yet. Piece on real footy about saturdays game. DB quoted as just asking for a 'contribution' from Jack. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/younggun-showdown-as-watts-faces-naitanui-20100514-v2ya.html Seems fair to me, small steps.
  16. Id be highly surprised if someone wasnt having a look at Miller. If they've been to Casey they will know that he isnt a complete hack but would understand why he isnt getting a game for us. The question is will we get any value? The other clubs would be well aware that we are unlikely to resign him (and you have to wonder if he would even want to). Brad's manager MUST be trying to shop him around to Hawks or GC as its the best option to lengthen his career, but why on earth would they give us anything for him? just wait until he's delisted....
  17. I would say its the other way around, a half forward that certainly goes ok in the midfield. Colin is too dangerous around the goals and a good grab, playing him as a midfielder would be a waste IMO. Either way its good that we have options. FWIW - I would be trying to get Ricky's signature, we lack depth on the forward line (taking aside that we have some young talent that may, or may not, develop), i would be trying to cover our largest deficiency.
  18. BTW - WOuldnt mind seeing beamer & co slam NicNat like they did Dangerfield.... Wasnt beamer, was Bartram, JMac and Juice who tackled Dangerfield... That said Beamer is well up to the task, and how much of a mission will Sylvia be on to smash someone? (especially if his name is Kennedy).
  19. WD Bails Agree with the previous posts....Dunn was (sort of) the last player not really improving. Bartram would be very stiff to miss, has shown a lot of improvement and handy for run-with roles. Perhaps Cale has to wait until someone needs a rest. Hard to remember ever having so much depth of this quality.
  20. All praise the second coming.....Jesus has returned.
  21. $4 cans and steamed dimies...try and keep me away. oh and the footy.....
  22. mate your 2 week allowance is ridiculous. i take your point that some people are probably going to get dropped who dont deserve it but DB seems determined to give bennel, PJ and Hughes a crack at the top level. We arent a grand final chance just yet so good luck to all the blokes who arent naturally talented having a crack before some of the young kids come through. Points for your last line, i liked that. Edit - for the record, not including bennell as untalented, kid obviously has x factor skills.
  23. If you are going to be so harsh on Hughes I'll wager you havent been down to Casey much and seen how good a grab this kid can take. Relax and give him a few games.
  24. agree
  25. IMO Wonna < Bennell at the moment. Wonna still doesnt look 100% and Bennell is improving week on week. Hughes will depend on how he goes in the next few games, if you listened to DB's interview on SEN after the dogs game he is convinced we have more to see from Both Hughes and Bennell, so it will take an injury to remove them in the short term I think.
