    Yeah it is all.

If your mum had or has cancer you probably wouldn't appreciate it.

100%.  It was as distasteful as Finlayson but nothing will be said. Brisbane are [censored]. Glad this group hasn’t won’t a flag. Hope they don’t. Hate them.

Towball umpire 15 to the bush leagues next week

He always crucifies us. I don’t know how the players take the field when he turns up. Reckon they should protest haha. Not sure what his bias is but it’s heavily against us. Or maybe he is just completely hopeless and every supporter from all teams feels that way. Anyway I can’t stand him.
Daniher threw the ball straight over Levers head right in front of him no 50. May pushes Daniher back behind the mark and the clumsy git drops the ball. 50. GOTTA BE CONSISTENTLY SOFT IF YOU ARE GONNA BE THAT TECHNICAL AND SOFT.  The late hit on Rivers be 50 most of the time if it had been Kozzie. It was just that sort of night with the usual useless umpiring that unfortunately went all against us. Evening up for the port game

Anyone know the record of holding the balls paid against a side in a game, because I reckon we witnessed history tonight.

Speaks to Brisbane’s hunger tonight. Unfortunately it was a statement game from them.

And the umpires. They just didn’t pay it consistently both ways. Could we were done are usually play on and a few of their obviously called play on. Very frustrating

    Noah Answerth = [censored].

That behaviour from him was an absolute embarrassment. Didn’t care who won the grand final last year until I saw that carry on and was so happy that they lost. Happy to support a team that doesn’t carry on with such rubbish win or lose. He is a complete and utter disgrace to football what else is there to say.

I’m convinced Rozee made the Rivers tackle look worse than it actually was. That was a bullshiit decision

Agree, he just stopped mid tackle after the whistle and went limp, reneged in his duty of care for himself. If he’d tried to continue to stand up or use his core no way would he have gone down like that. Umpire fell for it unfortunately.

I’ve had numerous contrary reports from others there and the moisture was evident on players jumpers

Yeah it was humid as f… dont listen to the dry reports. Pity we were our usual fumbly selves in slippery/wet conditions and they weren’t. Probably worth 3-4 goals to them. Plus some unlucky decisions/bounces of the ball and we get beat. Onto next week.

Wish we would improve when it’s slippery though. That and some weird selections boggle the mind

You’re better of buying tickets and getting decent seats, the bay allocated is in the pocket and viewing is restricted as the ground has a massive crown. I sat there rd 24 last year, never again. Was better of watching it at home on tv.

Seats were fine. Lack of noise from a lot of the Dees group and war we were watching was worse than the view.

Great job to the cheer squad though!-thanks for fronting up every game!

  8. G’Day all,

Unfortunately there is no opportunity for Melbourne members from Melbourne to sit in the Melbourne supporter section of the SCG for the opening round. Only MFC members based in Sydney have this option.

As such would any MFC member based in Sydney who is not going to use their allocation of 10 seats able to share their barcode with me so I can order two seats in the MFC supporters section? (Maybe send the barcode by private message if you’d be so kind)

Frustrating Melbourne based MFC members can’t get access to these seats but it is probably more to do with the limited release from the afl then with the club itself.

    Thanks again,

    Dusty

Somehow O'Sullivan, Watson and Naughton or Lynch.

    Forwardline then looks like:

    ANB Naughton/Lynch Fritta

    Kozzy Petty Watson

With JVR, McAdam, Spargo, Chandler and Trac resting.

    Backline looks like:

McVee May (Tomlinson lockdown role) Lever

    Salem O'Sullivan Bowey

With stints from Rivers when not running through the midfield and Howes.

We need more elite talent in the forward half that turn half chances into goals and can convert the contest wins from further up the ground and players like Petty who can draw the ball on the lead.

An elite ball user in the midfield will be nice, but not a priority. We need better forward half players and a defensive tall that will allow Lever and May to play to their strengths. We have the 1st or 2nd best contest team in the league in the midfield, so it's about being able to maximise our midfield dominance inside 50.

100%. Papley. Naughton. Hawkins even. Anyone. Time is now. Get it done. Dreamin

2 days a week, for 6 months of extra field and goal kicking practice for everyone.

We talk about having generational players in our team, but i'm sorry, you cannot be generational if you cannot hit a target.

    With a wet ball!!!!
be way easier when it’s dry then!….and easier when it’s wet or dew covered as it’s normal

Bringing in Hunter (shame he was cooked, should’ve stuck with our poor kick plan and gone for Acres, the most Melbourne player to never play for melbourne).

Drafting: Rivers, Bowey, Laurie, Howes, McVee.

Attempting to move Harmes. Seemingly not been all that keen to keep JJ.

Training 3 second or less ball movement all summer.

Switching a lot more this year and even attempting more corridor kicks.

I think they know exactly what’s wrong but there’s no point throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Contested footy still dominates finals and neither side had more than moments with a fraction of space tonight.

Last week was our big chance and we made too many errors when we had options to open space and convert.

Tonight we gave absolutely everything and had a disgraceful amount go against us and did everything but win.

Healthy key forwards, a sprinkling of class and some fresh legs in the running players and the balance of the game style will correct itself a lot, whilst keeping our strengths.

What the hell happened to that, kick it in 3 seconds or a turnover? Did it in the practice games and looked great. The amount of missed passes we had going forward because we hesitated wasn’t greet tonight. I know it was only pre season but I was excited to see them moving it so quickly. We stuck with it for a bit and then got slow.

What was the reason behind that?!

Yeah agree with that. Said to my

better half when the ball fell our way early in the first quarter I commended that it hadn’t happened for weeks. Then it stopped happening. Umpiring too, intentional or not they were awful in the 4th. Anyway, point is Schache aches me as that selection (plus not using him) made no sense at all.

plus, offseason….. lads. This is the aflw team. They kick between the big posts. The two taller ones. Let’s see what they say and practice it. You will win more games on actual score if you can emulate it…….

    I also think it's shocking.

We've just demonstrated to any future player we make a pitch to come play for us just how you may get treated.
    Good luck with that.

100% agree with that. The last few weeks have made no sense at all

Straight Sets Simon has wasted yet another year through poor list management and team selection.

Schache the sub and wasn’t even used, while we had ruck contests with no one going up and Grundy in the stands.

Gawn totally exposed their backline with his marking when he was forward, we could have had a lot more of that with Grundy in the team.

This is the least surprising result, lost at team selection yet again.

Well said. What was it 5? weeks ago Max got double teamed by these two and we lost. This time we leave another All Australia in the stands and go in short as and then play Schache as the sun. Beggars belief.

Then Max did mark finally in the third he carries on and goes back and misses a sitter. Love the guy but it was embarrassing
