  1. We'll see after this round how well they've responded. I'd put last weeks performance on Neitz and Kennett more than Bailey.
  2. I think that his last 20 or so games for the MFC over the past year or so have been very consistent and influential. Probably won't have a place at the club next year, but in his limited time on the ground yesterday, he did a lot of great stuff.
  3. Because they write inconsistent, incoherent and moronically opinionated dribble.
  4. Saw him running to the toilet with his son(?). On the wing of the southern stand near gate 6.
  5. Firstly, the umpires did not lose this game for us. Yes, they made a few terrible decisions late in the game, but the truth is, it shouldn't have been in the balance the way it was. The reason we lost today was because we didn't capatalise on a number of oppurtunities. Quite a few. We weren't direct as many times as we should have been and we turned it over doing over-handballing and ring-a-rosey in the same way we have done in the 8 rounds. In other words, we over possessed the ball because of a lack of confidence going forward, or a lack of an open forward leading towards the ball. Also, several chances in front of goal were sprayed and/or missed. Hawthorn didn't play bad today. What happened was we were able to hold their forward line for a good 80% of the match and stop their tall forwards from getting easy grabs. Even when the Hawks had the run, we were able to get numbers back and run it out. Our run out of the backline today was the best I've seen from Melbourne in over a year. So, we were able to stop Hawthorn from scoring at will. Our backline played very well considering Rivers, Whealan, Wheatley and Carroll were all out. Great signs of things to come. All in all, it was a fantastic effort, but we should have finished them off when we were 14 points a head and piled on a few more goals. We made it difficult for ourselves and made silly decisions, but thems to the breaks for such a young team. They'll learn from today. And yeah, the umps hurt us at critical times, but we didn't HAVE to be in the position anyway. Had we taken advantage of poor Hawthorn form and great run out of the backline more frequently then we did, we would have been far more a head, which hopefully would have stopped the Hawks.
  6. How dare you pick on Bruce! He is our best and most skillful player! Damn you! Damn you to hell... lol
  7. Mark Jamar...
  8. We won't win another game for the year. Even if the Maggies give us the game, we'll still lose it but handballing in circles and kicking in backwards while not hitting the target. Collingwood will HAVE to kick goals.
  9. so, let's say 22 rounds per year x 10 = 220 Average 15 rounds a year x 10 = 150 150/220 or a ratio of 32:1 (played games for every one missed game) So far at Brissie, he has missed 1 out of 8. That's 7:1. I agree with your post, but one missed game already is hardly anything to use as evidence of your argument. But yes, our facilities cost us valuable recovering.
  10. I mean, seriously, anyone who said anything remotely like "we can win this game" is a complete idiot. We beat Fremantle, not Geelong. We lost this game before it started. I'm cursing I just wasted 20 minutes of my time in Tokyo watching this tripe. Valenti is good though.
  11. I'm in Tokyo (yep, I'm gloating) so I won't be able to watch it.
  12. You're all blowing this out of proportion. He meant "The Melbourne 2008 team is the worst team in the past decade", not Melbourne over the past 10 years. He's right. Melbourne over the first 6 rounds was the worst performance by a team in 10 years.
  13. lol you really loath Bruce, don't you YM?
  14. Was trying to convince my mum and sister to leave at half-time. My sister wasn't convinced and wanted to hang around, not because they might've come back, but because she had to meet someone at 6pm and didn't want to have to drive back into the city. Lucky we stayed.
  15. If Green keeps playing the way he is and Carlton give us a top 20 pick, they can have him!
  16. Austin >>> Everyone
  17. People were calling for him to be sacked at the end of last year. He had an average year last year because of injury, but has come back and filled in and led the backline perfectly. He's been just as influential as Rivers has been this year. He'd be doing well in the B&F. Probably been the most consistent this year so far, along with Aussie.
  18. Let me check... Nope. Only you.
  19. I'm curious also if anyone knows.

    Love this

Fantastic montage! Thanks for that! We're all really loving this, aren't we
  21. I was thinking the same thing, what it would be like for them to run out onto the G after putting in 6 consecutive heart-less performances, yet see such a passionate, albeit small, group of fans still come to the game.
  22. I'd have to agree. That's up there with one of the great wins (that i've seen at least)
  23. Probably one of the most crowd-influencing games I've been too. Only 19k of us, but we made a lot of noise in that 2nd half. I have no doubt it helped them get over the line, but still, they had created an enourmous amount of momentum for themselves. I don't think they were ever going to lose it in the last 10 minutes.
  24. QFT. Their defensive pressure in the second half was fantastic, and I put a lot of that onto Rivers, Bell, Frawley and a lesser extent, Carroll, who didn't let a dominate 1st half by Pavlova let him down.
  25. We'll see Jones' real ability in the next few weeks, see if he can break the tag.
