  1. We can't afford small players that are slow & lack X. They have to have weapons of some description.
  2. What about B Matera, do you have any thoughts on him?
  3. I'm hearing you ENYAW. I agree with another smallforward mid, with speed & ball winning able. No freaks really, but hard headed smart ball winners.
  4. They possibly would, but not certainly, as they don't have any other good tall forwards that I know of. The point I'm making is your overvaluing Gibbs. And comparing Lever to Rance, who is a number of years into an elite footy career. So Rance is an established elite player. Lever is just a spring chicken in terms of playing that top level, on a consistent year on year basis. Its not about so much about Gibbs perceived trade value, as we don't want to trade with Carlton if don't have to. But my reasoning is more about this willingness to give away more than we should have to to bring a player into the club. Sometimes I think we can talk ourselves into bidding, against our own bids. We have to learn to play hard ball, if we are to learn to fight it out against the tougher clubs. They are no push over because they value they're own club interests, ahead of other clubs. We have to play with the same set of rules.
  5. Motlop's intensity has been questioned at times, but Dangerfield was keen to paint a very different picture of the Cats' No. 32. “He has a huge hunger to win and to be great and that is what I love about Steve,” he said. “I think his leadership this year has really increased, his direction with the younger players and the ability to speak up at meetings. “He just understands the game. When he speaks, it makes sense. "When his performances have been poor, he’s still been vocal in voicing his opinion on how to improve. I think that’s a sign of a good player.” I think Danger is auditioning for captaincy, or a job in the marketing department.
  6. Jeffy at Carlton was much more consistent than Motlop has ever been. Although his commitment could have been questioned, And was at Melbourne. He has responded. I don't want to take the chance on Motlop. Give me Aaron Hall, I'll chance him, & I think we can work on him to make him a better player. Macca can.
  7. I would not wait any longer, he is 27Yrs at the start of 2018 season. Its not worth the gamble of getting less when he's older. It's time for an example be set by the club. Done your dash jack. seeya. Yep I'd settle for Aaron Hall, or work to make a deal for one of the Suns talls, who might like out. It's time for a fresh slate. And its time the club showed off, that it has Testi's. And means footy business. Not some holiday camp for spoilt kids.
  8. That may well be but I don't think others hold a player going on 29 before the bounce of 2018 as high as you seem to. He's probably got 3 good years, in him. Is he on your books? Take Riewoldt out of the tigers forwardline & they will falter to score. Take Rance out, and the opposition will score more, but Richmond will still be able to score well. The Tiger defenders would have to work harder & smarter. And they would probably have more pace & run. But they wouldn't be as good. I think Riewoldt's more recent seasons have him undervalued, because of his poorer early years & temperament.
  9. Yeah Riewoldt every time. Now rance v tex walker?
  10. Why do you value Gibbs so high? He is 28.5Yrs already, with shot legs. He's not that valuable. Early 2nd Rnd pick, if it's in 2018. I think he's in the range of 15 - 20, in 2017 draft picks.
  11. Yep, Lever for our 2018 1st Pick, & 2017 2nd Pick. That should do it. No more.
  12. No, an intercept Tall Defender is no way as valuable or as rare, as a Key Tall Forward. Not on the same page.
  13. Worth a try, storming into the square. But what will his opponent get up to.
  14. Because he doesn't do it very often. defend or work hard. Danger is trying to encourage it. And danger may well be trying to sell him to other clubs.
  15. just not ones like JW. Those who will not fight hard for the ball & win own ball need not apply.
  16. Because we have another ruck tee'd up? A reason to sell in the high market?
  17. No I didn't miss it, just as King didn't miss. Unfortunately. We too often look for proper looking players, instead of those who just want it, & get it done.
  18. Well King was effective in his sides finals games. Didn't need to be flashy, just effective.
  19. And what exactly did jeff white do for us, other than looking like a ruckman. In comparison to Steven King, he was nothing but a neat footballer. Better in his early days, and faded away to not much.
  20. If Maxy was on the table to GWS. I'd be wanting Jeremy Cameron. Gawn to GWS. > Jeremy Cameron to Demons.
  21. If Hogan wanted to go home. I'd be wanting Lever & the Crows P17. Or Hogan & P27 to Freo, for Freo's P5 & Lachie Neale. Or Hogan & P27 to Freo. > Lachie Neale & P27 to Crows. > Lever P17 & P35 to Demons.
  22. Putti Ngin is apparently of interest. A foreign player. possible trade?
  23. Adelaide good. The further the west he goes, the better I think. As far from us as possible.
  24. Like the man who invented it. Mr A Davey. ??? Or was it earlier than that? Wasn't it Mr J Farmer, at the Demons?
