Bailey ,Roos, Malthouse or Clarkson?
Longsufferingnomore replied to GRUN DEE's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wouldnt he be a good proactive face for Melbourne. Yeah right. Sorry what is his position at the moment. Part time in SA. No thanks. There must be someone else. I am not sure that Bails is still yet to be the one. -
Wouldn't you know it just when we though it was safe..............

Bailey ,Roos, Malthouse or Clarkson?
Longsufferingnomore replied to GRUN DEE's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can't see Clarkson moving from Hawthorn unless he feels he hasn't 100% support. Kennett moves on next year so I cant see him moving. Malthouse, even if does walk we cant afford him. Roos says No. Who does that leave. Please not Williams. I would love to see Todd there but his first priority with be with Jack. Are there any others. Knights - No. Brad Gotch? Leigh Matthews? Wouldn't mind Leigh Matthews - his love child would be Tappy. -
Is Judd's at Carlton. I thought it was outside his package from Carlton.

Yes I know that but for instance if Tom doesnt want Bailey there next year but the Club believes that Bailey is the best development coach where do we go from that. Do we reappoint Bailey believing that he is right for the job but knowing that we could lose Tom. Or if Tom wants Malthouse but we cant afford him !!I just believe that there should be no Scully influence one way or the other on whom we appoint/reappoint as Coach.
-
If Tom is waiting on who will be our Coach it is a dangerous path to take. How can we let a second year player have any impact on who will coach us. The Coach will be the best for the Club not best for Tom Scully.

ARGUMENTS - IF Ox is so convinced he has either been told by GWS or Velocity that Tom has signed. Either way Tom has had to sign something so Tom has lied. He has lied to the Club/supporters, his friends/contacts (who have said that he will wait until the end of the year. Then the Club must know and they are cleverly carrying out a campaign to ensure decent compensation. The Club and its Board are not stupid or naive. Tom will have to live his being branded a liar and worse for the rest of his career. He will not remain at GWS he will move on to the next club willing to offer him more once his five year tenure is finished at GWS when he has to take a pay cut. On the other hand Tom has not lied and the Club understanding the turmoil that it is creating has put its best offer to Tom for his consideration. Velocity says to GWS gee I believe you are interested in Tom playing next year what do you want to offer. Tom do you want to know what the offer is, No, I have told the Club and the supporters I will wait until the end of the year. CONSIDERATIONS Did Tom come home from China and say this Club is shite, I'm off. Where do I sign. Velocity knowing that he was unhappy approached GWS. Wanna make an offer!! Is Tom so devious that he would take part in a press conference and put on his innocent face to plead that no I havent talked to them neither have my Management. Why would the Club have only just put the offer to him if they had known that he had received an offer last year from GWS. Have they just put the offer out there because he has signed and they are now playing Vlad at his own game. Dangerous that one. Interesting comment by Bulcher that in referrring to GWS offer "if you believe what is in the papers". Geez this is doing my head in and I presume from the 38 pages here the rest of the Melbourne supporters. The article in the Age is pushing me into believing that Tom has gone and the Club is in attack mode. I hope not. But either way there will be damage if he leaves or stays. If he goes we lose a leader and AAA player and if he stays we may leave ourselves open to attack on our other junior premium players. I come back to Dean Bailey asking Chris Johnson if he really wanted to play for the MFC and if he didnt that it was best that he go. Maybe if Tom does go we take this attitude. We want players with passion for their Club and their team mates. We dont want players who at the end of the game just think well that is another $000,000 in the bank. It is emotive and that is why the NFL's signing of contracts mid season will not work in the AFL.

What salary cap. These two clubs do as they want with all the under the table deals they have with Vlad's permission.

Why are we all believing that GWS have offered 5 million. Has anyone seen the offer. GWS wont confirm the offer of 5 million but there is an offer. Toms Management wont confirm the offer even to Tom. So who know's what it is. It may be 700,000. So until Tom makes a decision it is all still conjecture. It will probably still be conjecture because how could anyone believe what comes out of Allens mouth. THe other line that was being discussed today was that Melbourne knows he has gone and has made it known that was what has been offered so that there is a stronger likelihood of higher compensation. My strong belief is that if Tom decides to stay at Melbourne he will announce it before the end of the season. Can anyone tell me when the other clubs can have a go at Sun's draft picks.

Yes, he was referring to Jackson Trengove not our Jack.

Hang on, we didnt agree to the rules. Our suggestion was ignored by Vlad and the Vladettes. What can you do faced with them. They could have argued to they were blue in the face but they were never going to be listened to because there was another agenda.
-
But do you really think that anyone else would feel sympathy for MFC. They all would be happy that it wasn't one of their players. I can remember when this all started and the comments were along the line that we cheated anyway etc etc
-
Problem for him is that now no one will believe him.

Dermott - 10 times worse than the last time

Bring Jack T into the leadership group next year. He handled the inevitable Tom Scully question this morning with ease and then went onto say that he would be happy to take less if it meant Tom stayed. Gotta love the boy.

I saw that and my son commented that it looked like something had been said to him because he doesnt normally get physical.

Every time Liam gets the ball or gets near the ball I and all Melbourne supporters are willing him to do well. At the moment nothing is going his way. I noticed early in the first quarter (I think, its all a haze)that he called the runner/medico out and it looked like he was taking himself off. There is just something so wrong at the moment. If he is injured rest him. If he is homesick send him home but something has to be done because at this rate it is becoming embarrasing for him. No one wants that for Liam.

Interesting that what he said about the CEO's was not entirely true. How can he explain this away. So in fact the CEO's had no say and the AFL had them meet so Vlad could blame them when the SH..t hit the fan. How can you trust this man when he has blatantly lied to cover his own stench. Honestly there is no stopping this man in achieving his own agenda. Bugger anyone else who gets in his way. Do we believe him when he says he does not know anything about who GWS are going to try and recruit. Pull the other one.

Does anyone know if the Club has an area for supporters to sit together and if not where is the best area to sit for a Melbourne supporter.
-
Someone has sucked the AFL into believing that WS was ripe for a footy takeover. Did they not think that League would not fight back. This is just a disaster waiting to happen but if it does who will suffer. They will still get their fat pay cheques but the remaining Clubs will foot the bill.

Thanks. I wonder if he still as the contacts at Velocity hence his comment.

Kleiman works at Velocity. His wife is PA to Adrian Anderson. Googled him.
