  1. like every other club does
  2. Absolutely agree. I would leave Trengove out of the official leadership group for this year but have him in on the outskirts almost doing a traineeship. I would also now have Beamer taking on more of the Captains role - a Co-Captain - doing the talking or some of it - revving the players up at the bounce etc. Let Greeny lead them on and off. I dont think we need at this stage to completely demoralise Greeny and the players by asking him or allowing him to step down. He needs help and Beamer, Jamar and Frawley need to step up and assist.
  3. Yes, anyone with a previous grudge will be taking the opportunity to stick the knife in - players and administrators. We will see who the underminers are and who we want to be with the Club "going forward" (God, I hate that cliche).
  4. If you did a quick poll here most apart from interstaters do go to every game. We do walk the walk. Do you? Does every Collingwood supporter turn up for every game? You are full of snide comments that usually are so vague and full of innuendo.
  5. Is it a sign but Wolfmother has gone to ground
  6. Just watched Todd's media conference. Some of the interesting comments were: - he feels empathy with the players over DB's sacking. That he went thrugh the same thing twice in his career. - The players feel empty, responsible, let down and are grievingl Some of them have lost a mentor because DB was their only coach. So yesterday he spoke with them briefly told to do what they had to do. They trained lightly and told them to come back today (their day off) and talk about things and what was to come. - average and mediocrity is not part of the culture that is expected - it is his turn to shoulder some of the responsibility like Jimmy does/has. He understands that it is his turn now to do his part. - asked about Gary he said that he is a leader of the Club and he to needs to stand up - Tom Scully same old future leader etc however said if he decides to go the Club will move on and get the best two picks they can. If he makes his decision early it will help planning but respects his decision to not to make a decision until the end of the season. I liked the filthy look he gave one of the journalists when he butted in on someone asking another question. Todd takes no prisoners. I hope some of the older players are up to it.
  7. I think this is an issue that Gary said last night that he would talk to Jimmy about - as an old friend. He said that Jimmy's health was the number one priorty.I dont know whether he said it or someone else did (i've never listed to so much football radio in the past three days)but it could also be that the Club is actually taking his mind off his own issues so in a sense is helping him. No one would begrudge Jimmy if he took a couple of months off and concentrate on himself and his family. Don is a great and capable person and mefc supporter and would be a natural fit to slip in and take it on 100%. The Board also need to stand up at the moment and take on more. They have to question themselves as to why this situation came to a head now and why it wasn't tackled sooner so it didnt take a 30 goal thrashing which would only excerbate the problem. Obviously there were moves after the conversations with the players during the week with regard to Cameron but the thrashing unfortunately bought forward the move on Dean and saved Cameron. I am now of the belief that the Club had to get in early now that Craig had gone from Adelaide and the limited names that are available. Camerons extension was a matter of sheer luck. I don't believe he will be there in the preseason 2012. As I stated in another post his position is now untenable.(Sorry got off track)
  8. Were they asked? Doesn't matter same result
  9. When the Ox came on to his normal time slot yesterday on SEN they asked how he was and he said that it had been awful. That after the game he had been in a "punch up" with two people from SEN and when asked who they were he refused to say who they were. He said he went home and had an argument with his wife and it was all because of the football. He said that he had tried to call the Club but he had not had a response. Clearly he is still so passionate about the Club and it is killing him (like us) to see what is going on.
  10. Saturday's game may be a turning point for this Club. We will see whether the players were motivated by their love of the Club or have sheer mercenary reasons for bringing us to this point in our history. They have to stand up now and take responsibility for a lot of this mess and the only way they can do it is doing something on Saturday.
  11. Is that between the fathers'
  12. Despite having his contract extended for another year CS position is now untenable. There will have to be a lot of mediation down there to get even a semblance of unity. How did the Board allow the Andrews Report to be swept under the carpet. Obviously the findings were too damning of certain people who took exception to it. I wonder if CS will see out his contract.
  13. Hang on, you lose me with your smoke and mirrors. What other areas. Just plain English please.
  14. Do you think there is a correlation between the two protagonists - only one with two chins.
  15. Isnt that called restrictive trade practices
  16. There are no morals down at Eddiewood. The only morals they have are the ones that suit them and no one else. What gall to preach morals.
  17. Eddie is really worried about the intellectual property that Malthouse will take with him. He will fight tooth and nail to keep him next year but after that Malthouse may walk. That is not a partnership that is going to work.
  18. I liked the way the Adelaide players responded to Bickley. They were rampant even though it was only against Port. Hopefully the boys will respond to Todd in the same way and get back the fire. I am going to watch Beamer hound Mitch Robertson. I am going to watch McKenzie tackle like he has never tackled before. I am going to enjoy Jack fire up and show the flag and I am going to enjoy Jack T silkily lob a kick on Greenies chest to score another goal. I cant wait for the weekend. I still have my scarf and my hope. If none of you reading this aren't fired up after seeing Gary tonight, after hearing Ox talk about having a punch up with two SEN knobs and then having an argument with his wife because of what happened at Geelong - thats passion and hopefully there will be bucket loads of it on and off the field on the weekend.
  19. Does he win a set of steak knives
  20. Hang on I think I have missed something here. Can you explain what you mean by "lets not miss it because some have a conservative nature"
  21. Ironic they said that Bailey might be a good fit for GWS. It will be like old home week
  22. I have never seen Gary so upset.
  23. I agree but sometimes you cant be more specific because the information will identify the source.
  24. Please Hang tell us all how you would do it. You dominate the forum so you must have some thoughts on how this magnificent club can go forward into the future. Please we really are hanging on your every word (you wish)
