I noticed as well Gysberts was hardly off the ground before he was on again. Obviously trying to get as much game time as possible. I forgot Jai Sheahan. He was more noticeable last week but defiitely a possibility. Tappy is a definite to go forward this year. I love the way he plays but I also think that he has to manage the aggression or he will be targeted by the umps. I was talking with a number of the Casey second players and they were saying that this year there is definitely more interaction with the MFC that there was last year. That the coaching staff have been down there. They are definitley following MFC game plan much more so than last year. Lovett is a much harder at training than last year. Very positive about the MFC connection.

Strauss good up until he took a late hit. Looked very sore around the neck area when he walked off. The player that got him off the ball was No.43 Redpath. Not even a free kick. Funny thing was the ump paid dubious 50m penalties an frees for late tackles to WIlly all night but an obvious free to Casey was not seen. Watts definitely looked a class above but still does not impact enough. Although he definitely was better in the second half especially last quarter - did some nice turns Tappy - loved his intent. Hurled himself on to a Willy player to run him down. Cant wait for him to be back in the seniors. Loved his kicking and run. Wont be surprised if he is in the 22 especially if he has a good week at training and pulls up all right after tonight. Bails - did some good in and under but to me he is one that could miss out. Josh Tynan - is definitely a senior prospect. Has good hands. Grimes - as reported came off at half time but has definitely a quality about him. McDonald - was a little disappointed with him tonight although kicked a nice goal. Couch - did nothing wrong but not in the first 22 yet Gysberts - definitely a better game this week Morton what can I say. He is really frustrating to watch Fitzgerald - needs to hold those marks. Kelvin Lawrence apparently did not have a good afternoon.

Both my dog and cat are members. I didn't think we counted Pet memberships but if all the other clubs are doing it we would be mad not to. For all those who cant afford an additional full membership buy a friend a 3 match membership or buy Puss and Rover a membership. A three game membership is $90 and a pet membership is $30. Even if it isnt counted the $30 builds up the coffers.

I hope that everyone is able to take part in celebrating Jim's life and achievements. I think the MCC would be an appropriate place. Hopefully something could be arranged because St. Pat's is not going to cope with the outpouring of grief.

Jimmy's health has deteriorated over the last month and I think unfortunately we should now be prepared for the worst. This will test the mantle of the Club. But that is nowhere near what his young family and extended family will be going through. My thoughts and prayers are with them and Jimmy. You have given so much of yourself.

BH I was probably a bit hard on Strauss given what he has come back from as well. If you didnt know that he had played senior football he did look a level above the others but given how he was playing just when he broke his leg maybe my expectations were a bit high today.

It was reported that there was another AFL official with Mifsud when it was said. Going on what Rendall said what he meant by the comment was really not how Mifsud took it and reported to Vlad who immediately rang Adelaide who immediately asked for Rendall to stand down. By Caro's article this morning there may have been an injustice here to Rendall but the implications were such that his position had become untenable. He had nowhere to go when he who will be obeyed asks for your dismissal.

Cameron, you are a good man to come on here an allay the fears of some on this forum. I think it shows how far we have come as a Club. Jimmy set out to make the Club more inclusive, you are continuing Jimmy's magnificent work.

It was interesting D King's take on the whole beat up. He felt that someone else has an agenda with the "information" being revealed. He didnt definitely say who or whether it came from someone inside the Club or someone who had been let go with all the new FD staff coming on board. Did anyone else hear his comment. My impression was that someone is troublemaking. Can anyone else confirm that.

With regard to Liam moving to Collingwood I think we are all overlooking one point here. Despite being shy and quiet when he meets new people, Liam is very close to Aaron and the other boys and genuinely is thankful that MFC gave him another opportunity after Collingwood put him in the too hard basket. We should not believe that he is some puppet of BHM who is conniving to have him back at Collingwood (albeit he maybe with some little prodding form Eddie). Liam is a strong person with definite views on his life. Don't underestimate his own intelligence. I dont believe we should be so condescending. Now that Cameron has confirmed that the Club did not know about the interview almost as it went to air, I think the fireworks will now really start. For Eddie to be virtually called a liar we will now see Eddie come out swinging. Let's see what other outrageous statements he will make. How long will it be before AFL reins him in. Fat chance.

WYL - Cameron saw Liam on Friday night. Just getting back to Eddie. I was astounded to hear the conceit in his voice during his argument with Patrick Smith this morning. He virtually told everyone and the MFC to get stuffed, he was going to do what he liked. He more or less said that everyone was jealous because he got the scoop. The question remains how much notice did he give the Club to be included on the interview (if you can believe that he did actually contact the Club). The other point which I dont think is being discussed here is Vlad's reaction. Completely predictable - that he thought it was riveting TV (you're joking) and that he didnt have a problem with it. Of course he didnt have a problem with it. Vlad will not cross Eddie. Let's see what happens if Eddie tries to reverse the takings back to Collingwood for Queens Birthday. You might see the Maggies doing a little bit more flying than they have done previously.

I think we can all be thankful that he actually said nothing. I cannot believe that Betheras and BHM would actually sanction an interview of any kind without seeking MFC permission first. Neither are lawyers. They surely must know the implications of even one word would have on his case as pointed out by "needafullback". This is not minding this is just giving in to his Almighty. And please dont tell me that his show is about "cutting edge news and cutting edge stories". Who is he trying to kid.This is bullying at its worst. I bet we dont see anything from the AFL or at least openly chastise Eddie. No one tells Eddie what to do. The Club needs to keep a handle on everything that Liam does from now on. No more media about the subject. Release statements but that is it. It is not going to go away but at least let it die down.

Martin spent 2010 with the Club and wrote some magnificent articles on the aboriginal boys at the Club. He told me at the time that James McDonald was a central cog in the way the boys welfare was handled. He also did an article on the handing over of Liam's jumper that Demonland was able to buy. He is truly a good person and does have a soft spot for the Demons.

If you had ever spoken to Liam you would know that in that type of situation he is really shy. He does not have verbal diarrhoea like some here.
