Garry Lyon's six-month rescue mission over
Longsufferingnomore replied to Brayshaws' Helmet's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can we have a DONT LIKE box! -
It is refreshing to hear someone wear his heart on his sleeve and stand up for the Club and show enough courage to bag someone who he works with at SEN. It was interesting that he admitted that he had spoken to many people at the Club from the Board down and all were committed to Neeld and his future plan. He has always said in the past that he did not have close relationships at the Club. I will always remember after last year's "186" he said that he hated where the Club was and it affecting his life so much that he was fighting with Karen (wife). I think it was not long after this or during that period that he ended up having fisty cuffs with someone at SEN. I loved David as a player and the way he stood up for his team mates against those thugs. He is now standing up for the Club he loves. Like we all should be doing.

Best place to sit at the MCG?
Longsufferingnomore replied to Lifelong Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ring the Club and check if there are any restrictions on your membership. It is an away game so they will be able to tell you where Melbourne supporters will be. Also would a twelve year old like to be with the Cheer Squad. Club number is 96521111. Go Dees -
David Schartz on SEN at 4.20pm today
Longsufferingnomore replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
Maybe it is both. The coach maybe needs to alter the way he is trying to get the message across and those players who are not willing to buy-in either because it is too hard or they have had too much leeway in the past, well they need to decide where they want to be 2013.By putting yourself on the market that is tantamount to telling the Club that you dont really want to be there. Others well maybe the game has passed them by and good servants they may have been some decisions will always be hard to make ie Cam Bruce -
Depending on match ups I would like to see the following: Outs: Trengove - rest Jurrah - injured Davey/Bennell Ins From: Couch/Dunn/Taggert/Martin Hopefully Jones is OK to play. I dont like Clark going down to ruck hence Martin I would like to see Taggert given a chance ie McDonald who has been given a chance to settle in nicely to the position Couch and Dunn give grunt and take no prisoners attitude At the moment I would keep Moloney and Sylvia in see whether they are stung by the remarks this week. Last chance though. A bit of man love should be going around there at the moment ala Mick Malthouse. Just watched Jack Watts interview after the game - shattered. I believe Riv's didnt even shake hands with the opposition just waited for the MFC players to come to him and walk off. We need to not tar the whole team with the same brush. Most of the team is hurting

P13 having trouble getting your quote up but make sure the MFC are aware of these boys. Hopefully Beams still has ties to the MFC but make sure Todd Viney knows about these two. Email him. Wouldnt we all love another Howeee.

He's a masochist!

Heard Mark Jamar interviewed on SEN today. He spoke of his wish to remain at the Club and that his management is currently talking with the Club to renew his contract. He also said that it has always been his wish to stay a Melbourne footballer. It would be great fillip for the Club if his contract was renewed quickly. IMO Mark has come so far but he needs to exert more of his leadership qualities on the field.

How on earth can you blame Garry for the inept performances of most of the team. The only way you can link Garry with our performance is with being part of the group who chose Neeld. So you are saying that it is the Coach's fault that we have a few sooky la la's in the team and a few players who are just not up to AFL level. Get a grip - stop making excuses for a very poor playing team. Look a bit further back to why our No.1 picks have just not come on like other teams top picks. I am as shattered as anyone else but dont seek blame where non is due.

I have just had three weeks of watching my team play on AFL Live on a little screen in my hotel room and at Malpensa Airport. If you think watching it live at the ground is frustrating try yelling out in frustration amongst a couple of thousand italians or screaming at the walls and no one is listening (hopefully). The distance doesn't make it any easier to watch. Reading Demonland daily covered any info gaps but it did highlight those on here with obvious agendas.

I'm just going to watch that clip over and over and think what could be................If it's any consolation there are many of us who live that week with you.

Inspirational Quotes. Original or Not .

"Do something, do. Dont think Dont hope, do. At least you can come off and say, I did this........I did something" John Kennedy. Hawthorn Coach -
Did anyone else hear the commentator on Sat say that he overheard Jamar arguing with Royal at either quarter or three quarter time.
-
Strauss over Blease - one has speed (sometimes) the other gives it his all and at the moment we need both but I would rather see a player put in 100%
-
Eddie does nothing that doesn't in the long term help CFC. Be absolutely wary of his gifts with strings attached with or without the AFL's nod of approval ie Queens Birthday gift of gate takings - all smoke and mirrors.

Probably best for your health that you dont!

I think Masters may already have been looked at as a prospect.

He came close to ending a lot of careers.

AFL Employee leaked info about indigenous players
Longsufferingnomore replied to BarrassHarrass's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Rioli is tweeting what the rest of the indigenous boys are thinking then Mifsud's job is now untenable. He is supposed to be representing the aboriginal footballing community and one of their own has now come out to say that he cannot be trusted. Vlad's double standards again. Thomas has come out lightly on this. If Caro and Patrick Smith can do due diligence why can't Thomas because he is not a journalist but a stirrer. Something is not quite right here. Thomas timing is impeccable. We have a disastrous start. lets get stuck into MFC. Has Thomas been sitting on this information whilst Caro and Smith knew weeks ago. Did the AFL know and only now the proverbial has hit wind has chastised Mifsud. (Rendall all over again.) I actually commented on Saturday during the first quarter that Aaron looked like he had regained some of his speed. With all this going on in the background it is a wonder that we even saw that albeit fleeting. How would Neeld have been feeling. If Davey did not make the assertion and there is no past player then the Club must force the issue. Otherwise it is not only the players that are lying down. Unfortunately, this year we are going to be the bunnies as far as the journo's are concerned. Hopefully the Club will take a stand. -
They were all cooked. At 3/4 time they were all hunched over gasping for air whilst the Brisbane players ran over to their coaches. We were stuffed. Maybe Blease has to decide where he wants to play - the heartland or that other place. Was he subbed off because he actually showed a bit of initiative and went for a run down the centre. Not to game plan.

Hows that photo of Vlad. With a top hat he really does look like the Fat Controller. Jenny Craig needs to be invited more often to luncheons at AFL HQ.

I think some of you are forgetting that it is a different era. We all loved going to the footy and watching the hard and tough football of Dermie's era but if you played like that today there is no way you would be playing the following week or the week after. I want to see hard crunching fair tackling. I want to see everyone emulate Frawley's run down the wing at the MCG. I want to see everyone give 110% like Jonesy does when he comes off the ground nearly heaving. I want to see everyone in and support a mate when someone gets crunched unfairly like Strauss was on Saturday and everyone was in to back their mate. I want to see everyone at the end of a game exhausted because they have given everything they had and more like they were against Collingwood. I want to see tough football but I also want to see them play not sitting in the stand. The game is far more sanitised today and lets face it Sheedy and Dermy both live in their pasts.

Started to watch the little twerp with the smiling assasin sitting next to him. I just could not do it. When he got on to his Mum, oh please. What a group - S$$$y, Sheedy and EEW.
