  1. and what finish out his contract!!
  2. Persoonally I would like to see anyone to replace Brian Royal. Can we fit Cameron Ling in or maybe even James MacDonald (maybe too soon for him)
  3. Last year when the Club sent off many eliglble players to have operations Casey were furious to say the least that they had been left with so few MFC players. I hope this year is different and I would hope that they are supported by MFC members in their quest for a flag. It certainly would be a great marketing tool for Melbourne in next years membership drive in the Casey area.
  4. Who is available to play with the Scorpions for the finals rounds. What is the criteria to be able to play with the Scorps.
  5. I think I heard Maxwell(or some other CFC "person") talking about their VFL team and said that what a great future the Club had because of their upcoming players who had had two years in the VFL to develop. There doesnt seem the predeliction of some of those here who want to move young underdeveloped players into the Seniors. I bet Watts wouldn't have played against Collingwood in his first game in the Seniors if Neeld had been around then. Imagine Cook, Evans and Williams with another season in the VFL under their belts
  6. Hmmm. There are no equal teams or players. This rumour is very strong. If he doesnt play against the Swans next week then we all will know what is what.
  7. Sammy in negotiations now and definitely wants to play on next year. Schwarta asking about Skulldog. He said I'm not Tom Scully. Neeld and Club is going in right direction and his contract will sort itself out. He is not going anywhere. Speaks well and giving an insight into how his broken leg played on his mind and had to consult a psychologist to help him overcome his fear of rebreaking his leg. Looking forward to having a full preseason to be able to push up forward. Yes!!
  8. Sammy being interviewed now.
  9. Rivers has had a really serviceable year. He could have done a Moloney and not get with the programme but instead he has played forward and back and played well in both positions. He has a presence that cannot be ignored and to ask Frawley to carry the load is just too much. The question is with all our forwards playing who gets the job Garland or Rivers. Give him another year.
  10. Yes he was at the game on Saturday and walking well if that means anything.
  11. Loved his endeavour. There are a couple of midfielders who need to look at Jake and learn.
  12. Jonesey on AW after the game said that after the brain fade out of 3rd quarter at the beginning of the year it would have blown out to 10 goals so the resilience shown in the 4th quarter was a positive sign. Loved Jetta's effort in the forward line and loved the way all the players went up to him after the goal. Jetta is not someone we expect to put his body on the line so I took that as a positive as well. I agree the perception with Sam Blease is that he does not seem to enjoy being out there (remember Sculdog with the same look). He needs to sometimes temper his thought process but he certainly has regained his confidence and belief in himself and backs this up with consistent chases. All in all I just look at the team with Watt's back, Jamar and Clarke in, Chip back to name just a few there may have been a different result. Carlton and Essendon both get performances excused because of injuries however no one in the media ever (except for Schwarta) brings up the fact that there is only one team with more injuries than us and that is Suns after last weeks game. Like others even though we lost I was somewhat happier with the performance than last week.
  13. Like the media speculation that we are very interested in signing Cloke don't believe everything that you read in the media.
  14. H e didnt say much else apart from announcing Howee and Nates resigning. A good positive sign of the players support of the Club. "A genuine strong feeling that we are on the right track" Northern Territory - CLub sees the Northern Territory as a growth market and will be exploring every opportunity up there. Aaron and Liam have been acting as ambassadors agains trachoma (spelling!) and in the areas that they have been working the incidence of trachoma have been reduced by 50% He mentioned Brad Greens 250 games and James McDonald and how they are chanpions of the Club. - he is an outstanding young man and great champion of our footy club. Cam Schwab - his contract exxpires in October and that there will be an announcement in the next couple of weeks with regard to his contract. Don said that he and the rest of the Board have made known of the professional way Cam has handles the various difficult issues this season. Cant remember anything else.
  15. well don't. You will not be missed.
  16. My main concern is how all this has reared its ugly head again. It was dead and buried but someone has deliberately reignited the issue again. What I want to know has it come from inside the Club or from another Club. Obviously McLean would not have been asked on the "Couch" for any other reason but to "discuss" the tanking issue. Who has set him up. The journos' or his Club. It would seem that Sheahan and Healy were almost salivating at the bit to pounce on McLean. If the promo for the programme did mention Melbourne's tanking they obviously knew why he was there and it wasnt to talk about his new found football prowess. Dont ever expect any favours from Healy. He has always maintained his preference for Sydney over Melbourne and Sheahan will do anything for a scoop especially since Caro is in London. So they may have also been stitched up by a certain Club. They have a history of denigrating our Club and they also have a history of doing and saying anything to sign up players. Maybe there is a little dejavu by using Brock McLean. We sold them a dud and now they are using that dud against us. What I don't understand is why would any Club who is just as guilty as five other Clubs risk being investigated. I dont believe that anything will come of this as players did not throw matches but we used the only means (which other Clubs had resorted to using) that was open to any Club to ensure future success (or so we thought). If the AFL or any other Club feel we are so weak or there are persons or person who has such a grudge against the Club then that is a greater threat. After hearing Tony Shaw say on Saturday that other Clubs were looking at Tom McDonald and at Howe then my mind goes back to Fitzroy and how it was picked over like a carcass. At the moment we do look weak and with commentators making such remarks that we are irrelevant how are we to attract decent players. I hope the Club does it's own investigation as to how this happened. The Club needs to know who set us up. Better to know who your enemies are.
  17. This is just getting worse with Paul Johnson, John Meesen, Nathan Brown (Rich) all being quoted. I wonder if they (media) will go to James McDonald who was Captain. Robbo has written an article in the Sun baying for our blood. This is not good.
  18. I can feel a Caro scoop coming.
  19. I dont know how many times I have watched this and each time the emotions that it stirs amazes me. The team walking off together is the most provocatively emotional scene one which the boys should watch today in light of Greeny's 250th.
  20. Rumour is there is an addendum regarding HWSRN. Maybe the subject is covered in this edition. I certainly will be buying.
  21. Junior maybe you should follow the example of Chook. That's passion for you.
  22. Also to my knowledge Liam has always maintained his innocence to the Club from the very outset. Also what type of image would it portray to delist prior to his court case. We are not St.Kilda who indecently got rid of a player prior to his court case.
  23. Hadn't he injured his wrist first and it was operated on and then injured his ankle or may be other way around. Hasn't it been reported here that he has been running laps at training so his ankle must be "nearly" ok to go. The Club will know whether he in himself is ready to return to playing. Would anyone here be ready to play AFL with this type of charge hanging over you? I dont believe so. If he is fit physically and mentally let him play but until then keep him on the injured list. Liam at his best is a marquee player and we all know how we felt when he was flying. To have him and Howee flying - two marquee players - will be great for the Club. We will need players like them next year for their marketable talents alone after this shite year. I agree with others here the AFL and MFC will have had considerable discussion as to how to handle this situation. We do have a couple of brownie points at AFL with our handling of Mifsud saga so I would say that the AFL true to form will manipulate the rules to allow Liam to continue to be on the List without penalising the MFC.
  24. It is just not Lovett making the difference. Speaking to one of the Scorps players he told me that there was a huge amount of difference between the input of the whole of the coaching staff at the MFC this year compared to last year.
