Two more than you have
-
Absolutely nothing should be said by the Club until they know what they are actually being accused of by the AFL. The AFL and Vlad need this to blow over as much as we do so we need to bide our time and almost work with the AFL on this. I know that is really unpalatable but there is more to lose by jumping the gun. I still firmly believe that there are other cards from the Scully debacle that the MFC have not played as yet. I like most here love the Club and wish that the backstabbing that is currently on display stops. It will only succeed in splittting the Club in two. Haven't we been through enough this year. Now is the time for solidarity. If when all the information comes out and certain staff have to resign, then the discussion re the current board can play out. Until that time get behind the Club - support it. Journos do read this site and if they get a whiff of instability amongst the supporters we are supplying them with more fodder to beef up a storyline.

We didnt tank. The players were not instructed to lose games. We did not tank.

Caroline Wilson's descent into gutter journalism

Why am I not surprised. The two dummies together. Not a skerrick of brain power amongst the two of them. -
Caroline Wilson's descent into gutter journalism

What I want to know is how did Caro get a copy of the Agenda for the "meeting". Which one of the eight is the dirty dog. We can cancel out CS, CC, TH, DB and JM and that leaves Prendergast, West and Wellman. Now lets see who of that lot has the least to lose and is likely to be the most vindictive. Hmm only person who shat on us while he was with us and continues to do so now. I wonder if there is any connection with our friend Brock.! -
Making no money or being reliant on AFL for handouts hasnt stopped Port going to Milan for training. I know where I would rather be.

Does anyone know what his problem is at North. Has he cracked it because he is not getting games or some other reason. We need team players not some ego maniac (not saying that he is)
-
Had forgotten about QB. I can just see it now - a reinvigorated Dawes and Clarke smashing the filth and Howee climbing all over the top of them. Leave early cause it wont be pretty in the outer.

I don't think the Club made excuses this year especially the players. In a way there were plenty of external reasons which added to the abominal year that we had. I also don't believe that the changes that have been made both during the year and with this draft period that the Club is "shuffling deck chairs". There are major player changes some of which it will be sad to lose ie Rivers and some others who previously would still be at the Club (Moloney) have been given the chop. These changes have been made by a strong Club that is endeavouring to change a culture and ethic that has weighed us down for years. That is not moving things around to pretend that changes are underway. If you expect major results next year you will be disappointed. We will though be a harder and more competitive Club than we have been for some time. Can't you be excited about the prospect of Jack V,Dawes, Pederson and Hogan waiting in the wings. Roo supporters are furious that the Club have let Pederson go. Neeld and Co have come up trumps so far. With Neeld, Craig and Misson there are no excuses for poor development of the younger brigade. Personally I can't wait for the season to start.

Neeld was open about using Dawes connection with Leigh Brown and himself to get him over the line. All the info was that he was Bulldog bound. I am super impressed how the Club has handled the drafting process so far. ADC just try and look on the bright side of life otherwise you are just destined to be a misery guts. Enjoy the ride and look forward to what the future holds for our great Club.
-
If the Doggies are the other Club after him why would you choose them over us. We have a better list.(They just dont play like it.) It would only be for a better offer - money talks. It was only a couple of days ago and the word was that he was leaning towards MFC.I thnk the Club has so far played the Drafting game very well and I would have confidence that we will not pay over the odds to secure him. Obviously the Club has taken heed of Demonlanders angst about giving too much away for Dawes (not). The unknown is how much Carlton want him and would he be in the same position at Carlton as he is currently at Westpac Centre. There is a longterm recruiting plan in play and far too much chestbeating here.

Loved Mitch Clark's tweet to JV "Get the left foot ready bud haha want it hitting me on the [censored] next yr" and Frawley's tweet "JV "at pick 26. What a steal. Welcome to the Club big man" James is not going anywhere. Suddenly cant wait for 2013. -

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
Longsufferingnomore replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Go to the MFC sight and listen to what Sheehan has to say about Viney. There was nothing wrong in promoting Jack as a Melbourne player because at that time the old rules of father/son drafting probably applied. Little did we know that Suns and now Silvagni is now saying that GWS will look at Viney. Again we get shafted. Why do the "rules" change when we just seem to have something going in our favour. -
It was mentioned this morning that Swans were interested in Tippett

Yeah right. Come on AFL have a look at Eddie's books. Where is Wally! Absolutely amazing. Just like no one queried Bucks agreement with Channel 9.

Season Review from the Players
Longsufferingnomore replied to low flying Robbo's topic in Melbourne Demons
Interesting Sam was included in those who spoke. No Rivers! The look on Jordie's and Col G's face said it all. I don't remember seeing anywhere on this forum throughout the year, a reminder or recognition that the players (or some of them) were hurting as much or more than the supporters. Whether it is just like childbirth and you cant remember the pain as time goes by and I know that the season has only just this moment ended but I really believe that the players have acknowledged how both physically and mentally unfit they were to take the field as elite AFL players. Just like anything in life once you have acknowledged that something is not right you are able to move on. So we say bye bye to Beamer who believed that his way was the right way. We have to hope that those boys inerviewed will carry the others along with them. I do believe that the likes of Clark, Trengove, Grimes and Jones will do this. I hope that James Frawley is able to become a leader of the backline. I always believed that Rivers was the silent leader down there as James seemed to drop his head too quickly at times. Lets see Sammy's off field work ethic improve. Now he has some consecutive games he know what it takes. Having someone like Neil Craig mentoring these boys can only help. Expect more pain next year but most of us here are here for a long time not just the good times. -
