Boozy Dees Ejected from G on Boxing Day
Longsufferingnomore replied to Tony Tea's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is a positive from this that we have all seemed to have forgotten - Col Sylvia was nowhere to be seen. Hallelujah -
Nah it's a furphy! (Deeoldfart will get that)

I am staggered that anyone listening to Schwarta cant feel the love he has for the Club. Didn't he get into a fisty cuff with someone (I think a guest - unsure) at the station over comments made against Melbourne. He also talks about how he used to fight with Karen during the Scully saga. I love Schwarta's open passion for his Club and I love that he calls a spade a spade and is willing to criticize as well. To me his very fair minded. That is not what I would call GH. At the B&F the response to Jones naming GH as one of his mentors was somewhat lukewarm. It was embarassing and I thought pretty thick skinned for him to be there so soon after the interview that eventually dumped us in it. Listening to him some nights he doesn't strike me as having much enthusiasm for the Club at all,. I would have thought with all the sniping that WR fires our way he would have tried to inject a little more balance into the show.

The end is near. Just the end of 2012. Not the world.

Yes great thread. Thanks to all who have a hand in keeping this forum on the straight and narrow (kind of). Thanks to all those posters that make me laugh especially Biff. Thanks to WYL, Redleg and WJ for keeping me sane to a point. Merry Xmas and a happy and prosperous 2013 to all. "Go Dees" make us proud. -

Yes it is a great story something I would like to see in the media but unlikely. -
Casey Scorpions coaching decision
Longsufferingnomore replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is really sad and I would have thought 12 months would have been more appropriate. -
The AFL has commented that: " It is expected that a final decision regarding whether any charges under AFL rules are warranted will be made in late January 2013" (My highlighting) Therefore no decision.
-
If any charges laid against CC are based on his flippant remarks then I would hate to see CC thrown to the wolves for the reasons mjt has outlined. If however there is written evidence well that lifeline will get shorter and shorter. It is still absolutely incredulous to me that we alone have been targeted

Our annus horribilis seems to be continuing. My apologies to Deegirl.

Then we should use this to negotiate a penalty that will save our great "leader" face and minimise the effect on the Club. We dont necessarily have to turn over to win this argument. Winning in court might make MFC supporters and other clubs supporters happy but the elephant will not forget so we may win the battle but ultimately probably not the war. Triumph may taste good for only a moment. Who gives a rats what Caro and Venom print after a weak penalty is given.

Who will be in the new Leadership group
Longsufferingnomore replied to Barney Rubble's topic in Melbourne Demons
I read that about Moloney as well but as they say proof will be in the pudding. He would train well with us and run around with arms flailing but come game time he constantly went missing. He was voted out of the leadership group - sulk - he wouldnt/couldnt buy into Neelds game requirements - sulk. As I have said previously for someone who was obviously looking for a new Club his last performance/attitude at Casey was abysmal and frankly I was embarrassed for him. We sent him off well at the B&F. He got a rousing reception. I watched the Bulldogs Round 4 game on Foxtel this weekend and there were glimpses of the old Moloney. It is sad when a player who was a lifelong supporter of the Club leaves under such a cloud but if the reports are true then it will be a win win situation. As far as Rivers he has given a massive part of his career to the Club and played well albeit in a different position. There was no sulking when he was played out of his normal position. I can only wish him well with his goal to play in a premiership team. I havent heard Cols interview but to me actions will speak louder than words with him. For years we have all held such high hopes for him and I know in the last two years there have been preseason injuries and incidents but it is what he has done or not done on the field. He obviously has such high skill levels even match winning skills but he doesnt produce them consistently whether during the game or in a number of games. Neeld will be great for him. Maybe for years under Bailey etc he got by on what the Club thought he could produce. Under Neeld and Misson there are no preconceived ideas as to the level of his ability. It is time to put up or get out and hopefully Col is now ready to put up. -
well boyo what have you let yourself in for - welsh winter I mean. Just a word of advice - learn quickly how to use the ignore button.

Jane, Never fear. He will come around because he knows if he continues with the black and white he will be banished back to the slums and back to eating leftover dog roll. He will acknowledge class over mediocrity.

Big Mitch (figuratively speaking of course)

For pet memberships a handkerchief scarf (just a square) for dogs to wear. My Lab would proudly wear his. Love the viney bandana given that I can see cult hero worship emerging amongst all teenage boy members. I love my scarf because it shows that I support the Club not only as a fan (not the "fan") but also financially. I suggested a couple of years ago a long weatherproof navy coat with red inside. I have one that I bought from a hockey shop which was not expensive. A little bit of demon embroidery would make it ours. I am happy to show anyone from the Club if they are interested. Maybe they can make contact with the manufacturers. I often get comments when I am at the football as to where I got it and many presume it is a MFC endorsed product..

HG love your reports thanks but any news on Dawes - how he is training, with the main group, how he seems to be fitting in and with whom does he seem to be bonding with. I have watched Matt Burgans daily reports and I cant seem to find him although it is difficult to see who is who when they are all wearing caps. I am trying to keep a lid on it but am getting very very excited about the coming season. The difference in training even from last year is huge, body shapes are significantaly different just all in all a different feel around the Club. I think we should all also collectively let the Club know how we have enjoyd the Video reports both from a coaching and player perspective. They would love to have this feedback from members.
