  1. Tim Watson on SEN this morning believes that there will be announcement by the AFL either today or tomorrow. He also believes that the AFL will announce penalties and that the whole matter is going to court. Just what we need for this to go on another 7 months (at least) and hang over the Club like a stench.
  2. SHE'S BACK............................
  3. He has a very long lens Some observations: Tynan has really gained definition in contrast to last year. Seems to be a lot of lovin going on in 118 Who are those boofs in 85 Those shots of Hogan bearing down - great - how would he be feeling being out with the big boys. I too would be afraid if I had Jake Spencer next to me/after me - a monster with some very funny facial expressions. All in all you are a very wonderful man/person 666. Great job.
  4. Watched it again the other night. One thing that came out of watching the Essendon game again was the impact Rivers had on the game that night. I will be interested in how we fill his role this year and with whom. (That game also confirmed to me that Moloney and Morton had to go.)
  5. Then do we see the return of the resting ruckman or midfielder to save on interchanges.
  6. For God's sake what players reputations were ruined. No player has been associated with any of the allegations (sorry apart from their fumbling). Give me a break. It is like the war "we should never forget". I don't think Garry will lay into her until the Commission has met or if and when we are cleared prior. I wish Grant Thomas was still there - he would really hit home.
  7. I liked Michael Carr Gregg's article today in the Age with regard to the use of a USA Army plan which "empowers club captains and leadership groups with greater skills". To me generally they may not have proof but players may have suspicions that fellow players may be using. What I don't like about 3 strikes is that not that it would be too late to step in but surely earlier intervention would be the preferred option. Michael CG has a plan whereby the Clubs would be required to complete with the player concerned a 10 point step to "rehabilitate" . This would allieviate a players concerns that he could be delisted or traded unless those 10 steps hadbeen carried out. You would hope that after the 10 step plan that the players would be clear of drugs. One wonders if WC had been made "officially" aware of Cousins offending earlier then they would have been pushed into carrying out some kind of intervention (they may not have won a premiership though). It is where the problem is not social but a mental issue that the line is not so clear. How far does a Club support a player? Hawthorn supported Tuck for a long time maybe because of the association with the Tuck family but in his case it was not until he had reached rockbottom did he come out the other end. Of course I wouldn't know to what lengths Hawthorn went but does a football Club have a right to trade/delist a player that maybe having an undue influence on other players or does the Club have a moral obligation to standby that player. I don't have the answers but the problem is obviously prevalent and rampant at certain Clubs and it does need to be addressed. The AFL should have shown leadership earlier to this instead of being shamed into a conference by a very worried Collingwood.
  8. Three things I noticed. Hogan is HUGE especially noticeable in the picture where he is standing side by side with Dawes. Whose a naughty boy for leaving his blue shorts at home - Taggert and geez Misson has a ginormous derriere
  9. But there is a photo from training on Monday this week of Jack and Mitch walking and kicking the football quite freely. If Jack had been operated on again wouldnt he be in a moon boot/crutches or just not walking around.
  10. I was a virgin tweet till not long ago and find some of it interesting (Grant Thomas always controversial) and others anal (A.Maher).
  11. Come on OD I will follow you,. What is your tweet address. Message me and I promise not to give out to all and sundry here. We can then have a decent conversation about how good the dees are going to be this year. Music to your ears
  12. Terlich is 46, Jones is 45, Kent is 34. That rules out Tommy and I thought I saw Jack W in the group
  13. Kent and Jones are blonde as well and heaven forbid Tommy Mc is as well.
  14. Andrew missed that Melbourne had submitted its response because he was too busy looking at how many Frequent Flyer points he has racked up!
  15. Great to see that and put it together with the reports. Love TMc obviously very serious on Dawes. Liked Dawes work and Davis. Davis impressed last year at Scorps especially last couple of his games.
  16. Your gleefullness is just oozing out of that post.
  17. I was told on the weekend that AA's departure was more to do with AD and AA's lack of career path after GMc was deigned to be AD's nominated seat filler.
  18. I think he meant extra training. Gys knew best.
  19. At last information on interclub game - Dees V Saints at Casey March 9
  20. Boys - too much information. I am having my dinner.
  21. WJ, bananas have gone to your head.
  22. Sorry Dee but it was just prior to Gardner "stepping down" and Dean Bailey was coach and CC I think Football Operations Manager (not sure if that was his title) and some of the Board were not happy with CC. Absolutely agree with you re CC jokes - shows history. I also found this from an article by the infamous CW from 2003 re the MFC : " Gardner remains the best, most proven option which isn't saying much. And a victory or his group smacks of compromise, which is what Melbourne has been doing for decades". I wonder if DMc is considered a compromise. To my eyes he may have been at the outset when Jim was so ill however I think he has proven that he and the Board have handled the most awful of years with aplomb. One of Don's main aims even as VC, has always been to widen the Clubs interaction with the business world where he has wide contacts. There is no me in Don's ambitions for the Club. He is selfless in the time he spends on Club business away from his own business and family as with the other Board members.
