  1. I would guess the club hasn't updated their player details in a while. He's still listed as 192 cm and 83 kg. I'd love to know the real figures on him.
  2. Agreed. We have five very exciting players, with the added bonus that they are all completely different in style. I love watching every one of them. I'll add to that that I think people are a little hard on Wona over his weight. Unlike the other guys, he is not slightly built. He is a canonball on legs. He will always look stocky compared to Bennell, Davey and Jurrah. That doesn't mean he's too unfit to play. A lot of that bulk is solid muscle. It's part of what makes him such a strong competitor. He's a very powerful unit in a compact body.
  3. I've always seen Cale as an attacking wing. His pace, endurance and size make him all but impossible to match up on. Teams will be bringing a spare CHB into the side to try to shut him down. He has repeatedly shown that he can float into the forward 50 and kick a goal. He's played on and beaten Goodes, so we know he can defend. Let him have the freedom to roam the ground and do what damage he can.
  4. Who do you give to Hawkins? I'd be looking at Rivers to take him when he's forward. Possibly even have him take Pods and Garland follow Hawkins around the ground. Who knows?
  5. Looking at the bolded sections, I think the signs are looking good. We showed some pretty good form tonight for three quarters at a venue we'd never played on before. We won a close one by the narrowest possible margin. We showed some toughness when the game was taken away from us and kept fighting right to the end. So are we on track at this point or ahead? Looking at my own predictions for the season I think we're pretty well on track, although the wins have not all come where I thought they would. There are some big danger games coming up for us that will no doubt skew those figures even further. I think we're going to need to knock off at least one more big fish to keep up with the hoped for/projected 9 or so wins. However, given that I initially (something like six months ago) said that 6 wins would be a bare pass with 7-8 being a pretty good season, we're looking pretty good.
  6. Just looking at the stats. Jamar had more hitouts than the all opposition rucks. Dean Brogan is third on the hitouts for this season, yet could only manage 18 against Jamar. Many of those came against Sylvia. I know we're worried about him burning out, but with the form he's in it's a hard call to make him spend more time on the bench.
  7. Did he touch the ball in the last quarter? I only had radio and I don't think I heard his name mentioned once. Not that I would blame him in those conditions given that he still lacks a little fitness. Still, he seems to have had a hell of a game. Two goals and a bunch of assists.
  8. Happy now. This was a game we really needed to win, even before we got out to a 30+ point lead. Port have been in very good form and as has been mentioned we have had a few problems away from the 'G. Getting over the line in this one is a huge step forward as well as keeping our season on track. Well done team.
  9. Green. Scores level.
  10. And behind again. Rivers drops a mark and we hurt for it. Radio guys seem to think he should have had it.
  11. BENNELL! We're back in the lead.
  12. &%$^%##*. Also known as, we're now behind.
  13. Need a goal about now guys...
  14. Bloody Hell! 9 point margin!
  15. Port coming at us hard.
  16. Loving the looks of this game.
  17. Jetta seems to be having a blinder.
  18. I was listening to the second quarter on the radio on the way home. Sounded like Jack Watts squibbed one in our goalsquare right before Port got a run on. What say the folks who are seeing the game? All things considered it sounds like we're back to playing good football, but I'm worried about Port's fitness. They've been finishing very strongly and if they are close going into the final quarter they could overwhelm us.
  19. I think Gysberts is hard done by to be missing out. His form has been really good for Casey, and we need ot get some senior games into him this season. I would have thought with Bruce and Bate missing it was the ideal time to blood him.
  20. And to think people want to drop him.
  21. I wouldn't mind seeing Scott Simpson picked up in the rookie draft personally. He's a big lad, 196 cm, and has some really nice aggression. Looks like he moves pretty well too. I just loved that tackle he put on at Casey two weeks ago, even if it did get him suspended. We could use a guy like that.
  22. Aren't freak athletes with little to no football background generally Rookied?
  23. Absolutely thrilled by that list. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for our guys. Even if we don't see Gawn and Blease this year, they'll be nice and fresh for next year with a full preseason behind them. It will be great to see Jurrah back in the red and blue when we make our big charge and take a few prize scalps.
  24. Wish I could go up. Even with the heat and humidity I bet it will be something to see. And of course they won't be showing it on free-to-air TV.
