  1. "last week's loss to Werribee"? Didn't we win that one?
  2. Now that I can see the team wearing. Much better than the white rubbish.
  3. HELL NO! Bell is slower, has far less skill and can't take a mark like Grimes. He has no place in the senior side. Also, he's been playing as an inside mid or a tagger all season, not a back flank. I'd rather see them drop Green back to fill the spot than bring in someone like Bell.
  4. Prove it as prove that he verbally agreed. It's like telling someone that you won't sue them if you're injured. Worth less than nothing.
  5. Cheney - Punched Goddard. Keeper. :D
  6. Hey, If Junior's leg is bad, it could be great news for a rookie! See? There's always a silver lining!
  7. Play for Collingwood, Geelong or StKilda for a start... Also avoid tackling Judd, Hodge and Ablett, because there is a little known clause in the rulebook stating that they are never to be called for holding the ball (it would detract from gate receipts). Also being married to the Umpire's unfortunately featured older sister is a good step, although they have been known to look favourably on gifts of rare and expensive wines, European automobiles and holidays to exclusive resorts (the latter is a well-used tactic of Carlton, the Board members of which own several). I hope this gives us all a clearer understanding of the rules in question and how to use them to your advantage.
  8. I didn't see the Cheney incident, only heard on the radio, so no idea on that one. We shall see. I think that Warnock was dropped this week simply because there wasn't a matchup for him. THe Saints no longer have a big forward for him to shut down. The bombers not only have Gumby and possibly Neagle, but they like to run their rucks through the forward 50. Plenty of tall timber for him to play with. I think we can afford to drop Spencer given that Hille is out. Jamar can handle the Ruck against Rider, and nobody we have in our ruck division will be able to go with him around the ground, so better to assign the role to somebody else. Joel Mac is just not good enough and we're better off playing someone with a future.
  9. I would say that the last two years have taught him a huge amount about defensive work. That will stand him in good stead as he is asked to take on the rebounding defenders week after week and shut them down while still scoring a goal or two himself. It's a good role for him and he could be very good for us filling it.
  10. I think Cheney may find himself sitting out next week. From the sounds of things he gave Goddard a pretty good thumping at one point. That opens two spots in the side before we consider sitting someone out. Warnock will come back in, and probably Jurrah from his form on this weekend. We could also sit out Joel Mac or possibly Spencer. Not too sure who would fill their spots. Morton and Bail come to mind, but I suspect the club would want Bail to play another week or two at Casey to make sure he's fully recovered.
  11. Why is there no comment on Cheney?
  12. Verbal agreements aren't worth the paper they're not written on.
  13. Happy with the young guys. Trengove was good. Watts was good aside from a couple of really bad kicks. McKenzie was good. Scully was apparently tagged/beaten up out of the game. There are some issues to work on with a few of our guys, but overall we saw some real positives today.
  14. Thank you. Much better put than my rant.
  15. FFS people, there's no need to keep rehashing the same old crap. "We need to sack Bailey!" "Bate/Miller/Bruce/Spencer are crap! Who decided to recruit them?" "Our fitness department sucks!" Seriously, just grow up! Nobody at the club has ever said that we were going to play finals this year. Nobody ever said we'd be beating top sides. All they ever said was that they wanted to get games into the young players and get them playing together more often. We are dead on track for where most people had us finishing this year. We have a chance to win two or three more, maybe as many as five if we're really lucky, but today was always a loss. Get over it.
  16. No. Until we treat all games as a Grand Final we will struggle. We should be able to produce that intensity every week, not just on the odd occasion.
  17. Look on the bright side folks! Sam Blease by all reports was great on the weekend.
  18. But it wasn't out on the full. It was through the goals. Also, this is exactly what Trengove did against PA in Darwin. How was it a point then and a free today?
  19. Where can I find a copy of this rule? I must read it!
  20. On the bright side, Watts has been pretty good. He's missed a few targets, but also presented well and taken a fair few marks.
  21. Unbelievable. Jamar punches it through from a ruck contest and is called for deliberate. These Umps need to be taken out back and shot.
  22. "Kick to Dunn who was held - no free kick" I think that probably sums up the umpires approach today. Well put MMM.
  23. This is painful to listen to. Great kick by Dunn, but it's a rare highlight.
  24. Bugger. Watts misses one and the saints bring it down the ground and score.
