It was a good win but gee we had a lot of players who were down and our kicking for goal was atrocious. It's always hard to win on the road and we should savour it but it was far from a complete performance. I did like the way we weren't playing that well in the second half but kept up the pressure.

Bernie BOG back in his hometown........
-
Cale Mortin went pick 4. Big deal. And his stats are way better than WHE. He has done nothing since being drafted to suggest he has a future. 52 games in 5 years averaging 8 kicks? Pass.

These guys are a dima a dozen whose value rockets up at trade time and they disappear forever. Remember we got hot under the collar about... Kristian Jaksch, Brent Prismall etc etc
-
In my DT. Never got more than 40 points. That's reason enough not to entertain him

Dureyea's stuff up for Tracc was very welcome........ -
Not really I would have thought.

Regadless of what they took they still FAILED to tell ASADA about their injection programme - a key determinant of their penalty. They can crab walk away from the mess anyway they like but it doesn't change the fact they are guilty of not keeping records - another penalty. Rabble. As for Thompson he is of dubious character and always has been. plenty of stories about his petulance, arrogance and behaviour

I wasn't being critical. I thought it was a good effort. Just surmising if he had have taken Gibson down how fantastic that would have been.
-
If had have taken Gibson to ground in that tackle we would be going delerious on here. That was a pretty critical time in the game.
-
Is Salem that fast? I would have thought he breaks lines but in a different way; with his evasiveness and foot skills...
-
I wouldn't have thought pointing out his deficiencies is clutching at straws. It's a totally valid debate as to whether he should be learning his skills at Casey or the seniors. If Garland or Dunn were better OMac would most likley not be playing.
-
I am not convinced by OMac. Can see that they are trying to get games into him and he does some good things. Will he make it? Can we glimpse what the OMac of the future might look like. Too early to tell but.... 1. His body on body skills aren't good. Definitely needs 12-14kgs as soon as possible...(he should try my diet) 2. His urgency is non-existent and he ambles to contests. Fails to kill contests too often. 3. His dinky 2m handballs to someone in a worse position or stationary are terrible. In fact when the ball is in close he is a liability. 4. His kick that dribbled across the ground was appalling. It was lucky it was a goal. (Sure he is not alone, Frost and Garlett both did similar dribbles). 5. He gets wrong sided too often which to me suggests he lacks footy 'smarts'
-
His running kick to Weideman (for his first goal) was pretty good as well....... Between him and Hunt we have some line-breaking speed which is very exciting.
-
There were two separate incidents: 1. Rioli spear tackling Brayshaw - Free to Brayshaw Langford kicked the ball away and no 50 penalty. Brayshaw had the brainfade kick to the centre here Gunston or Bruest marked and goaled. 2. Rioli head butted Weideman and then spear tackled him into the turf. No free.
-
Rioli is a dog. Just watched the replay again and at the start of the 2nd he does another spear tackle - on Brayshaw. The Langdford kicks it away and there is no 50m penalty. The AFL need to send a message to Rioli. They missed two opportunities and now the dog will think he can get away with it.

The crowd was down because there were no trains on the Glen Waverley line or the Glenferrie line due to level crossing works. There were also no trams along the Riversdale rd route . Buses replaced all of those. -

That doesn't really make sense. They can't stand in front or the side. And the ump shoos them away if they are behind the man on the mark. Its when the player has taken up some time, say 15secs and everyone expects the ump to say play-on - they let the Hawk player sidle up to the man on the mark. It's infuriating.
