  1. The same [edit: a player's] father who was last seen exchanging jokes with Chris Connolly?

  3. Who mentioned compensation? I'm happy that we neither asked for, nor received any compo in these circumstances because, in a football sense, he was not a player for who compensation is warranted. Jurrah had talent to burn but did we ever really see him do the things necessary to enhance his talent to the point where he could have become one of the stars of the competition? Long before the alleged machete attack in Alice Springs, the training reports about him generally suggested otherwise. He didn't have much of a tank to start off with but what did he do to improve that? Now he presents himself to train at Port Adelaide for a PSD or rookie spot and the visual evidence suggests he hasn't done much work in between his departure to Adelaide and the present time - Jurrah back on the track. His excuse might be that he has other things to worry about like the sad state of his community and his family and his forthcoming trial. That's true but if you want to be a professional footballer you have some responsibility to your club and your team. Tredrea is 100% correct. Jurrah, the footballer, needs to prove himself at State League level before getting another chance.
  4. They should suspend Geelong and Brian Cook from the competition for twelve months over this.
  5. I don't know of any Richmond half back flankers who would have touched her with a ten foot pole.
  6. She's a Richmond person and she's just landed in the gutter. What's new? At least she's got Martin and Edwards in there for company.
  7. Just got this on Twitter from MFC Board member Karen Hayes
  8. Poachers face $100K fines Does anyone know what happened to Tom Scully?
  9. Does anyone know what happened to that goal kicking indigenous footballer from NW WA who created a sensation in the Darwin comp. over summer. Waylen Manson?
  10. Thanks for the advice. Now, why not have a crack at doing a preview and explaining which Rochmond are going to win on Saturday.
  11. Toumpas by the length of Bourke Street. Get him please!
  12. The events of July 4, 2012 have swung the momentum of the game dramatically. The Tigers would have been strong favourites before the sanctions against Dustin Martin (who averages 20 possessions and a goal a game against the Dees) and Daniel Connors who learned everything he knew about etiquette and behaviour on interstate trips from former teammate Ben Cousins but now it's not such a sure thing. As it is, Richmond reserves some of its best football for the elite teams whilst it hasn't really been that flash when taking on some of the others. It lost to Fremantle in Melbourne recently after beating Sydney and Hawthorn and it was rubbish against GWS a couple of weeks ago before losing to Adelaide after an eight goal first quarter. This suggests that Damien Hardwick's boys have some weaknesses that can be exploited. Their midfield is decidedly weaker although it still has the likes of Cotchin and Delidio but the Tigers are iffy in other positions so if James Frawley can do a number on Jack Riewoldt, it will definitely be game on. I'm tipping Melbourne by 12 points.
  13. Somebody at Melbourne must have gotten up this sleazebag's goat because he was on about us again yesterday on radio with the three month old story about Cam Schwab allegedly getting the sack the night before 186 back in July. It's old news that has yet to be verified as true and even if it was, most Melbourne people would now agree that the changes made at the club instead of that outcome have been infinitely better than "venom" Denham was suggesting. Why he's so obsessed with us, I don't know.
  14. A few years ago King was a shining star among the young assistant coaches but he ended up going nowhere. Today, he's a hack in the media - what a massive fall from grace. What's more, he's now known for the prediction he made before the finals about how Geelong were no good and going nowhere. After that, his credibility on anything to do with football, let alone the MFC, is non-existent.
  15. The past fortnight should have served to convince the community that the dominant culture of the sport at it's elite level is based on hypocrisy and lies. There's no need therefore to single out one person. Let's just move on.
  16. Unlikely. My info Is that MM will spend 2012 working in the a lucrative highly paid media position and collect his pension from Eddie whilst cleaning the locker rooms at the Westpac Centre before accepting a gig at Visy after Carlton does a hatchet job on Ratts.
  17. Demetriou and co can now reap what they've sewn. The AFL has can't expect anything else after creating an atmosphere of greed and deception with their rules. Jimmy warned them about this months ago.
  18. They don't call Kevin Sheedy a genius for nothing. Thanks to his brilliant strategy of recruiting Junior Mac as a player, he will now have at his disposal one former Demon with two sound knees. Sheer genius!
  19. Methinks you might have left out the real villain of the piece. Does the name "Demir Dokic" ring a bell?
  20. So what does the fact that Scully is going to Sydney with mummy and daddy mean? It could also mean that Tom has been telling the truth and that someone else, like daddy, has made up his mind for him.
  21. Speaking of integrity, IIRC even when Chris Judd left WCE, he didn't want to leave without the Eagles getting properly compensated. Whatever you might think of Judd, he gets my respect at least for taking that sort of a stand.
  22. Can't have him as coach especially when his own son is going to be playing for the club soon. Too much perceived conflict of interest and it would be no good for either. Get the hat back out of the ring Todd and stick with player development and being a good father to your sons. Please.
  23. It seems that Aaron Davey didn't recover from his one week suspension and will miss again this week.
  24. Inside Football's injury list is a classic! I kid you not!
