Maybe. But you make these statements as if they are fact. I'm not justifying lack of due diligence, btw. Again, a statement as fact. How do you know, exactly? From the outcome? In that case, it's just pure hindsight.
-
So the ethical difference is purely in who's giving or receiving the money. Thanks for clearing that up.

Hmmm... let's change that to: "Melbourne Football Club - I don't really see the point in using these guys in the argument. If I ran a football club, and had a company come to me and say "You promote my products and I'll give you $500,000 every three months, and all you need to do is give me advertising on your jumper, publications and website", I couldn't care less what the financial background of said company is like." Why does a different set of principles and ethics apply to MFC as opposed to the others?

If you think we got Sellar (196cm) as a ruckman, you need to go back to draft school.
-
The club obviously needs to emply someone with a Masters in Hindsight, not a Masters in Business Administration.
-
Jumping early is a good technique to negate ruckmen who are taller (Cox) or much higher leapers (Naitanui) than you. Where was Jamar's backup (Martin) against the league's best ruck combo last week? Sitting on the bench injured.

Interesting article, but I hardly think the difference between WC and Melbourne is Watts/Blease as opposed to Naitanui/Shuey. It's far more than that. It does support Melbourne's decision to recruit Clark, regardless of what we paid for him, and to get some bodies like Magner and Couch. I also hope people here understand where Neeld is trying to take the team with his defensive mindset.
-
Posturing is just posturing. It's just strutting around puffing out your chest. I don't see the value in fanning the flames. I'd prefer the fire to go out so Neeld and the team can get on with playing football.
-
What sort of statement is that? Davey denies it, Neeld denies it, the Melbourne Football Club denies it.

Nothing like a good conspiracy theory for people to make stupid utterances. -
The time is now for the "buy in" from our supporters

Come on, most of the optimisim came from people here. How many references have there been to our "2014 premiership" just because we have a young list? -
And everyone here has had the experience of being bailed up in a doorstop interview? Most here, including me, wouldn't be able to think quickly enough.
-
More like our supporters clutching at straws to find another tool to promote division.
-
I thought Neeld, when at Collingwood, was well known for his excellent player relationships.

This is a lovely piece from the Irish sports site 'The Score': http://www.thescore.ie/readme/jim-stynes-inspired-thousands-to-reach-for-the-sky-including-me/ -
I don't think there should be any poaching during the season. But that also includes GCS and GWS poaching players from other clubs, then the players lying about it.

I would have liked a funeral at the MCG too, since it was his football 'home'. However apparently Jim's wish (according to the Herald-Sun) was that he have a church funeral. The St Paul's precinct has a better capacity for crowds as it is across the road from Federation Square. Expect the funeral to be huge. Jim also wanted his ashes sent back to Ireland and to be spread at a special place he had already chosen. -
Get Pendlebury.

Is there a limit to rookie upgrades? Can you keep (temporarily) upgrading rookies for LTI players until there's none left? -

I have been privileged as a Melbourne supporter to follow Jim Stynes amazing career and life in Australia since he first arrived from Ireland. His football career was unequalled, his transition from Gaelic footballer to Aussie Rules superstar winning a Brownlow medal was an enduring example of determination and achievement. His post-football life continued this achievement and inspiration. Through every step, thought, deed and action, he has filled me with admiration. He was a great man who will be sadly missed. The world is certainly a worse place for his leaving it, but a hugely better place for having known him. http://youtu.be/B8i3kEmFgf8 -
Folau and Scully. The most expensive collision in AFL history.
