State of play: We've lost Grimes, Dunn, Terlich, Newton, Matt Jones and Dawes, and gained Lewis, Hibberd and McKenna. Nett loss of three. With only picks 47, 69 and 84 (to be used on Wagner) I can't see us taking anyone as a DFA or in the PSD.

Can we just have one thread titled "Other club's delisted players that we shouldn't touch"? Then we can have the one place for Nyuon, Kommer, Green, Everitt, Clark and anyone else, and save thread space.

I was only talking about Green. He's a waste of space IMHO. We should be past even thinking about players like him.

You don't need interviews and assessments. You just need to look at his play, even in a bad side. Green is not "speculative". You know exactly what you are getting. There's a very limited ceiling and its probably been reached.

I don't think he offers any more than players like Garlett, Kent, JKH, Kennedy and vandenBerg. Culture is not some external thing, it's the sum of the attitude of the team and the coaches. If Green needs a better "culture" to work in and has work issues in a bad team, I'm not sure that will translate into a good attitude in any team.

As you go through the draft and into the rookie draft, the picks become more "speculative". But for me the key qualification is "promise", no matter what the pick. Unless you want to pick kids without any promise.

You take relatively known quantities in the draft, especially in the first and second rounds. Kids with solid U18 performance. You take "speculative kids" with late picks, or rookie picks.

So he can run fast, but can't play football. I'd much rather give rookie list spots to speculative kids showing promise rather than a bottom of the ladder discard.

Someone gets delisted from the worst team in the comp, and we give him a rookie spot? No thanks.
