  1. Danny Hughes & the Escort Cup. Wasn't he the winning skipper in 1987
  2. Well done Foxtel - 2007 - 2011 should now be sensationsal. Everyone still whingeing - Simply get Foxtel or go to the pub. Either way you cant lose Go Demons
  3. Very Confident The BIZ will make these words of wisdom seem premature during 2007 How quick we forget
  4. Thats an awesome team. YOU have to wonder about the 42 year drought looking at those names. The Ox would be a monty to start in the side also. As for the omission probably Healy. Played his best footy @ the Swans. (Just an opinion - Shoot me down!!!!!!!!!) Wrapt to see the Great Allan Jakovich recognised - He was a legend for such a brief time frame. But what an exciting ride he gave us between 91 - 94 B)
  5. Not many without The Footy Maybe The World Cup in Feb live from The Windies :D & definately Late Night Legends on ABC2 Still it simply won'tbe the same An era has passed
  6. DD36 if we ever get confirmation your a starter we would have to have a ticketed game. Crowd would be in the 1000's B) Just noticed your from Yarrawonga. Spent all of last week up there water skiing. Shacked up @ Skiland Caravan Park on the lake. Do you know the place? You're a lucky guy its a magic place to live. Good luck with the Kokoda Trail & your Pre-Season
  7. Good Work Demons - Does anyone shave in the team Congratulations You Starz
  8. 7 & 10 will back down - Stay Tuned
  9. If No AFL on Foxtel in 2007 eventuates this will be a total disaster. Let us pray there is still life in the negotiations. Channel 7 you are a disgrace.
  10. Simple Really The side that kicks the most goals wins finals! Dunn @ CHF kicks goals Miller @ CHF doesn't - Takes the ball on long searching leads & generally panics & handballs to the wrong option. However Miller in defence - Gee there's an idea!
  11. Are we actually mean't to understand what you have written? Speak English
  12. The great Kelvin Templeton sadly was spent by the time we got him but I can remember a rare victory @ kardinia park about 1984 when he bagged 8 goals in the Red & Blue
  13. Darren Kowal - Massive Massive dissapointment for the Melbourne Footy Club Back to Henry Coles - rumour has it he wasn't paying attention to the coach at half time in a seconds game in the late 70's. Big Carl was coaching the 1st & down in the rooms & had a go @ him. The two went behind closed doors for a chat & all everybody could hear was fists flying & connecting & Carl screaming you can have an open clearance to anywhere you like. He was never seen at the Melbourne Football Club again. I think I read this tale in Robbie Flowers Autobiography. Robbie said he had never been more terrified in his life. Instant repect for Carl but apparently little fiery Henry Coles landed the most punches. Carlwalked out brushed his suiut down & it was business as usual.
  14. Talking about headless Chooks has reminded me of this one Moose Henwood arrived @ the Dee's from the swans for a short unmemorable stint
  15. Henry Coles Tom Flower All The Elliot brothers from St.Kilda - I think we had them all@ one stage Steven Clark - Was sensational for half a season late 80's b4 wrecking his knee (sadly now deceased) Ken Roberts Mark Jackson - If only he didnt want to be a movie star We had an aboriginal kid in the 70's that promised the world - Colin somebody or that may have been his surname.
  16. How about Ted & John Fidge - Big wraps on both but neither delivered long term. There was a guy we picked up from the Bulldogs late 80's. had a couple of big games then dissappeared. I cant remember his name - Aidrian Campbell maybe? Wore No. 1 & of course Rocket Rod Owen - Played some decent footy for half a season early 90's b4 wrecking his knee.
  17. I think your right DS - But I'm sure he started @ The Blues B)
  18. Bobby M's top 40 list got me thinking about past players who appeared in a blaze of glory & dissappeared just as quickly What ever happenned to : Darren Cuthbertson - Announced his arrival to the footy world about 1990 with a couple of bags of goals against North (8 or 9 I think) & followed up with 6 against the Pies in a huge clash @ Waverley, then fell off the radar Glenn Swann - I think that was his name kicked a bag of 8 on debut against the Pies also @ the G about 1974. Dont think he ever played again. James Cook - Arrived from the Blues 2001 played one game kicked 6 & never played again. Did his knee I think How many other 5 minute wonders have the Dee's had over the past 30 years?????????????
  19. This season to date The Bulldozer's form has been awesome. He is the pivotal person in our defence & seeing him continuely go to the best forward & destroy them has been sensational. To see his confidence continue to rise to the extent he not only outmuscles his opponents but also takes risks & runs off his man to set up key plays. This guy is the hard nosed, confident defender we have been screaming for. Confidence & belief is a great thing & Carroll is full of both @ present. Simply believing you belong @ this level can make all the difference. I hope Col Sylvia does both shortly as I believe he will be our wildcard in the 2nd halve of 2006. Nathan Carroll you are a star, keep the solid performances rolling. B) Thoughts?
  20. A Big Thank You to MarkC I got my disc today & raced home & threw it in the DVD player. What absolute magic memories, my 11 son is blown away by the skill & poise of Robbie. I'd forgotten how good an overhead mark he was also. How the hell did we not win the flag between 1987 - 1990?
  21. Phil Gilbert , Adrian Campbell & Darren Kowell Big expectations on all & None fired a shot.
