The "Please re-sign Jack Watts thread"

Alright..... That one went through to the keeper, not to worry as it was Haddin and he missed it too. -

The Tom Boyd Cup, Saturday 3rd August 2013
Rod Grinter Riot Squad replied to Philthy's topic in Melbourne Demons
GWS are still ahead in the third, though they won't win. We won't be tanking next week, but am worried GWS may have too much upper body strength for us. -

Quite Frankly, withe all fit, as things stand he is behind Dawes, Clark, Hogan, Fitzy and Howe for a spot in the forward line. That and we may get Boyd next year, but regardless of Boyd, would trade for a good midfielder without too much hesitation. -
Funny, all I read here was praise for only one change and the stability

Melbourne has moved on from Roos
Rod Grinter Riot Squad replied to red and blue forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry, but this is just BS. If Roos was only in it for the money, then he would have taken the Carlton job. A squad in a better position and a better resourced club. They offered him more than a million, he knocked it back. The money will be a bonus for Roos, but it will not be the reason for him coaching next year, if he does. He has proven that. -
Please note, despite what these hacks that do no research say, Fitzy did not have a good start to the year, nor a first strong 9 rounds. He missed the bulk of the first month, got into the Casey firsts, did well and got better and earned his promotion. So much of the criticism of Neeld has been understandable, with Fitzy this year, I would have promoted him a week or two earlier as am an unabashed fan, but can't see what Neeld has done wrong by him this year.

Werribee v Casey Scorpions

He was far from our worst, but we were pretty ordinary today -

Consider myself a pretty big fan of Jordie, also missed most of the first. Considered his disposal very ordinary today -
Luke Tapscott - Another one of BP's Specials?
Rod Grinter Riot Squad replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
Should have kicked 3 in the third, went in hard at the football, much harder at the ball than most on our list. Has been played forward under Neeld, so I think the stats listed are not too bad, it's not like the ball went forward much under Neeld. With the right coach, I expect Luke to come along in leaps and bounds. Unlike most he, I believe Luke can have a good and long career at Melbourne -

Too true, Barry best of a bad bunch that qrtr. Jett's in development squad, reckon his career is shot, pity as had high hopes for him -
The changing fortunes of MFC, Australia CC
Rod Grinter Riot Squad replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
A batting collapse, saved by tailenders, little seems tohave changed. It isnt our bowlers that wrecked Arthurs career. -
Great. Would be even better if he reached his potential, even if for just one season. Can't see him working hard enough for that to happen IMO. He is better than he used to be, but still nowhere near where he should be
-
Need a back up for Barry...
-
We definitely should ask, but I wouldnt be holding my breath

and I wouldnt mind Yaeger O'Meara and Jeremy Cameron but it's not going to happen

Good luck to Harry. Witnessing a murder is not the sort of thing you just forget. Amazingly, he obviously has worse to deal with. I've witnessed human suffering on a scale that you don't forget and wish I was a big enough person to put my hand up 15 years ago and seek some help as some things you see, you can't just block out, they stick with you for a long time. It messes with your head for a long time whether you want to admit it or not. It's not all about Harry, it's about a young man dealing with things that we can hardly imagine.

This is exactly the conundrum with Jack. I've always had faith Fitzy will make it but said the Satyriconhome that I was of the belief that he would have a good AFL career, unfortunately not at Melbourne. I now hold out the hope that the last bit will turn out to be wro... wro... that it may not be correct.

Both Ralph and Hutchy have made the claims after it was said here. Coincidence?

I confidently predict our first half of next year will be better than our first half of this year

Looks like the same conversation in worst umpiring ever thread

Neeld refused to play him this year?? Way to rewrite history. Fitzy had a late start to the season due to injury and had to spend time at Casey. Guess what? Dawes had a fortnight there. Neeld deserves a lot of the criticisms he gets, no need to make up more
