On a day full of [censored] disappointing moments, one of the worst for me was just after Jones had the shot at goal in the last and Hogan gave the free away. It would have been a point anyway, but instead of standing the mark Hogan threw the arms out and started gesticulating to where (I assume) he thought Jones should have kicked it to his advantage. The guy didn't run off him while he was having a whinge at the skipper, but it was just a terrible look while the game was still well and truly in the balance.

It's [censored] painful. I can't believe King had the nerve to say "you want to half barrack for them". Given he's probably waving a scarf around his head.

I never thought I'd see Ty Vickery as anyone's bogeyman either...unless it was because kids found him terrifying. -
Jeffy Garlett, the bargain of the century!

Schadenfreude alert. I was at a function for a 40th yesterday during the game. The husband of the birthday girl is a diehard Blue and when I saw on the phone that Garlett had 3 goals I couldn't help myself and had to mention it to him (over and over). He then brought up Betts, Waite and also started moaning about Mick bring Daisy. He was buying the drinks too! Good times. -
They really are superb photos. Thanks for your efforts Six6Six, greatly appreciated.

They could play it really safe and default to the fan favourite...."Indefinite". Guaranteed to be correct in every case. -
I assume this is the table. Apologies for the formatting, each heading is offset to the right for some reason. Edit: Stats for key forwards at 20 years of age. Angus Brayshaw's knee injury (minor strain - 4 weeks)
Kumamoto_Ken replied to Wealthy bigpennies's topic in Melbourne Demons
426 is code for Nick Smith isn't it? It used to be on 'ology anyway. I think it was his 2005 year when he earnt that nickname. Missed 15 straight games with a knee and was listed as 4-6 the entire time. http://demonwiki.org/Nick+Smith -
Still two years to go (potentially). This thread could break the interwebs.

Hopefully. I'll be watching that at 7:00 and finding something else to do at 7:30.

Since the thread has been bumped I'll provide an update for the many of you who are no doubt waiting with bated breath to hear how the 8yo fan of J.Howe dealt with the news. Firstly...I put off telling her for so long that when her cousins came to visit over the New Year they were the ones that broke the story (they also taught her the word 'traitor'). After a brief sad face she decided that Nathan Jones was now her favourite and she was going to rip Howe's autograph out of her book. I managed to talk her out of that, it's a nice book. I also tried to explain the big business of footy and that traitor is probably a bit strong, but I'm not sure the message got through. Hell hath no fury... Ed: spelling

Haha, true. In Adam Spencer's World of Numbers they reckon the quickest 10m chunk Usain Bolt ran in his WR 100m took 0.81 seconds (between the 60m mark and the 70m mark). Dawesy has him well and truly covered. -

Great appointments I reckon. More generally I am thrilled with all the club has done in support of women's footy, both as a MFC fan and also as the proud dad of a 9yo daughter who's playing her first competitive game next Thursday. -
I reckon it looks more like a cocky sneer. "Whatchoo lookin at?"

I assume this is stalking...and was one of the most enjoyable 'stalking' efforts of all time Although it really ended up as a mugging.

Supercoach Discussion : player selections, etc.
Kumamoto_Ken replied to DeeVoted's topic in Fantasy Footy
I'm another who is usually wary of Demons in my team (apart from Rookies). I broke the rule last year with H and got badly burned. Had to hold him for much longer than I wanted too as I was dealing with all sorts of LTIs. I did get big Maxy into my side (as a forward) just as he had his purple patch. In my draft side so far I have Hulett (pending NAB Cup and selection), Trac, Max King (r/f) and for mid-price madness Salem as a $400k defender. -
I would have thought he'd be used to it...

Thanks for your efforts DeeVoted (I expect a reply acknowledging my gratitude). Invite received. Ken's Colossi are in the Stynes League waiting to pounce....Viney style.
-
Can you imagine him holding back in any game though, let alone the Nats?
-
Count me in please DeeVoted. Team name: Ken's Colossi (Stynes League). Cheers, Ken

Not sure if it's been mentioned but there's a special edition of AFL360 on Fox Footy at 7:30 tonight. Robbo will be even less coherent than usual.

Yours might have...mine were from Cornwall on one side and Scotland on the other. They probably didn't see 40 degrees in the bath (if they actually bathed...never can tell).
