  1. But that's just it. Geelong's best was gone, they had used it up over the last 4 years. Look at Cameron Ling in the Prelim, he could hardly move. The Cats were out of gas, apart from Ablett who i think may be an alien-His endurance is F$%^kin' unbelievable!! Interesting Geelong did no trading in the past week, i would have. Position 5-8 for mine in 2011. The Demons will beat them next year at the MCG post Ablett. And don't worry we are discussing not argueing!!
  2. Your opinions once again RR, and you are entitled to them as i am, but going by what i have heard on talk back radio since the loss last night i am not alone. And yes i would love an uncapped young player to rise to the occasion as much as you, but are they being given the chance?? That's what i have been asking. Hussey, Hauritz are now list cloggers. Marcus North is hanging on by a thread. Btw "a wasteland of facts" is a bit rich.
  3. Cool i thought so. They are not that strong going into an ashes campaign, and i say again that sadly the australian Test side and selectors have learnt very little in the past 18 months. Maybe the Poms need to Thrash us on home soil, so we can see some real action. Hurts a lot to say that, but treading water proves nothing.
  4. Had Geelong beaten St.kilda in that Final and played Collingwood in the GF this year, I suspect Geelong would have been smashed the same way they were in the Prelim. Like a V8 in a long distance race by the end the Cats were leaking oil badly & limping to the finish. 4 years is a long time to be up at this level. Geelong 2007-2010 are a great side, they should be proud, but in 2008 there forwards were exposed by a brutal Hawthorn (who themselves over cooked in winning 2008) In 2009 the cats list was beautifully managed so they would peak in september. They did & just made it. 2010 they had lost the edge, but were still good enough to finish top 4. Billy where do you think the cats will finish in 2011?
  5. nathan ablett has trouble being motivated to buy the paper each morning, let alone help us win flags!! He walked out on his own club after winning one..... Nathan is an Ablett in name only.
  6. sure would, Geelong would be quietly sad they didn't achieve what they could have. That said the forward line was carried by the sublime midfield. 2007 they were a totally awesome side from round 5, best i have seen.
  7. yes he has, but he still needs to show it more in big games.
  8. A grader yes-"Elite" no. To be Elite Aaron must learn to beat his opponent when the screws are applied, like Judd did to us this year for a match winning Quarter. Now if Davey is being held-He stays held most of the time. Big year for Flash coming up 2011. He is now a senior player.
  9. ^^Yep, but i want at least 4 so we are level with those other 2 sides, and can rightfully be called a "Big 4 Club" B) i hate the fact we are not in that group considering where we came from
  10. Thanks TU i knew somebody would do it, i am eating a late dinner. Those averages are pretty average and going down i would say. North certainly looks better after his Ton last week, but should it save his spot? Not for me. So for the ashes series will the selectors name a side to Win, or name a side to minimize the loss? Sad to think that way before a series against the enemy. I just don't think a lot has been learnt since the last ashes series. So i hope like '89, a few more new names make the journey. Nobody backed them did they.
  11. This should answer your question i think!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdpyUBroFTU
  12. what's the point 45, Hussey Hauritz & North don't deserve to play in the test side, or do you think they should??
  13. Yes interesting psychology that one. And you may be right-But we will never know. Mooney's half time miss killed them in 2008. But it just makes our 50's record look even stronger, although Flags are harder to win now-But still we do have 2 3peats, a mighty effort.
  14. And the Test average of the 3 afore mentioned players for this year would not be much better. Warnie got carted when he first played, but they persevered. We got thrashed today in this test, and what did we learn from it? As far as getting ready for the ashes it was a waste of time sadly.
  15. I would put Melbourne's 1950's effort of 5 Flags in 7 years ahead of Geelong's 2 Flags in the past 4 years. Geelong should have beaten Hawthorn, they Blew that one in the second Quarter & then Stuart Dew finished them off So i would guess Geelong would be proud, but still very bitter they lost a 3peat chance. The MFC must always keep in mind Geelong's effort over this 4 years as we grow. Great but Flawed. If we could equal our 50's record in the next 10-15 years i will go to the Coffin Smiling big time. B)
  16. the whole lot, it is incredible. as long as they get all 33 out, but to see those women waiting would be sublime as an ending!
  17. Smith should be playing, after Warnie gave him some lessons last year, his action improved dramatically, persevere with him. Cameron white should be playing. Even David Hussey should get opportunities. There's a few players for you. M Hussey, Hauritz & North should no longer be selected. Why do the selectors persist? That is all i am asking.
  18. But the trouble is, he doesn't do it...Thinking and doing are different skills obviously.
  19. Cool now it makes sense!! If a bowler continues not to bowl to plan, then as captain first i would ask why? and try to fix it. If it continues then a new bowler must be used. Ponting has always been reactive as a fielding Caotain. Sadly it dilutes his efforts with the bat. His innings yesterday was one of his best, Pity we can't have a seperate fielding captain, because it's not Pontings forte. I would hope they would plan (Captain & Bowler), but whatever it is, is not working, and it hasn't worked now for way too long Why persist playing people who are not going to cut it, or should retire. Play more kids, see who does stand up. Because we still do not know at present with about 5 spots in the Aussie XI I don't mind losing if i see new blood trying to make a go of it. Like the MFC post 2007. Watching Hussey and Hauritz & of course Marcus North is just ludicrous and has been for over 12 months. You think we are a solid chance to take back the ashes over there right now?? It's too late to make changes now, the selectors have missed the boat. The old Dart may lose the series for us, but we won't win it looking at this team IMO
  20. Aaron Davey can be "elite" at times no doubt, but do you think he is consistent enough? I think he can improve in this area to become said..."elite.
  21. Sorry i just read that about 5 times and am not exactly sure what you are saying? I would hope Ponting would set a field in consultation with Hauritz to enhance what Hauritz plans to do with the Ball. Can't see this happening from either man at present-i will keep watching.............. I am not the cause of the Australian Cricket sides problem as you allude too-I just don't think the selectors have done nearly enough post Gilchrist retiring. Sadly i think it's too late for this summers ashes, unless the Poms are more useless than Australia which we all know is possible!
  22. OOPS!! Both women have been standing there together grinding their teeth for 3 months waiting......Yep i would want Foxtel with all the channels, and some reserve light globes!!!
