  1. If Carlton leave Etihad, you can be sure that the MFC will play more game there to make up the shortfall..Etihad will still demand the same number of games. The share holders will see to that. Call it a panicking post if you wish, but you under estimate those ruthless Carlton bastards at your own peril...There is good reason why i despise them. They walk over anybody to get what they want. And you can rest assured the AFL will turn a Blind Eye. They already have shown that with the Judd and Luke Ball deals. The AFL love Carlton & Collingwood firing...that covers the melbourne region. Geelong are self sufficient as long as the car industry is in business
  2. close your eyes...head in the sand. "Everything will be alright....You're not qualified..."
  3. At least he is honest. Good to hear it from a player. Astounding how poor this club has been. I applaud G Lyon for walking in on behalf of Jim and demmanding improvement. I wait to hear Moloney's side of the power shift in a few years....The fact remains that Brent never played well for us against the top sides, last year he didn't "play" at all. He obviously had DB wrapped around his finger. But now the players are realizing....Neeld has his first real win. GOOD.
  4. PSD you keep talking about Carlton and Boutique Stadiums. Forget that. First game of footy i went to was the 1970 GF 121,000+ Carlton are not going to settle for a small Stadium Deal...their cheating fines in 2002 almost wiped them out. 14 days from Fitzroy they were. Then Pratt and Visy were contacted. VISY have more $$$ than the AFL, they will move to Brunton Ave. The Broadcasters will love it. Collingwood Carlton Richmond and Essendrug if they are not done over. The MFC are not factored apart from QB. Vlad has created a Corporate monster and 9 teams in Melbourne is too much. Foxtel btw only goes to about 20% of houses in Australia so they are the small partner. Ch 7 want to make money. It gets harder each year, so the fixture will become more weighted, UNLESS the AFL spend more on their clubs. The NFL has a max 3 Friday night games for ALL Clubs. Is Vlad prepared to share his wealth or is he Uncle Scrooge. I have already seen The MFC leave the MCG once. It was a disaster (The 80's) I am not pessimistic, i can see the maths long term.
  5. Hahaha you are delusional mate if you don't think Carlton will gain 50,000+ members within the next 18 months. That is reality. How many of the Top Clubs go to the Top End Yearly? None...Only the stragglers. Of course CS is going to spruuk it up. He has to. Let's see if Free to Air broadcast it? Otherwise the Sponshorship is diluted. Reality. I blame the AFL nobody else.
  6. Good Stuff Ox. Hopefully he sticks close to the club from now on. Yes he f...up but that can be repaired. The MFC is important to Schwarta and vice versa.
  7. why is it crap??Sticks would have smiled quietly to himself reading page 67 of the HUN today.
  8. what are you talking about?Started to fight by retreating to Darwin whilst Carlton will sign a new deal on our turf... I can't see how that is growing larger nads myself...Please do tell...
  9. Ok let me put it another way. The financial side of this deal i applaud. The AFL makes it harder with every broadcasting deal it signs. $1.5 Billion is an obscene amount when clubs are still screaming and being screwed. Where are those wads of cash going? Just buy Etihad you tight bastards...now. The broadcasters are going to only want to televise the big games to recoup their huge outlay, understandable. But how does this deal enhance the MFC's chances of winning the 13th?? The Filth play 18 games a season at the 'G Carlton will get to that level in time...Richmond possibly... I don't blame anyone inside the club for doing this deal. This is a direct cause and effect from the TV rights deal, which we are very low priority. It will help pay the bills, but growing membership i remain sceptical (160 in 4 years at last count) Playing in Darwin whilst our enemies use the MCG in our absence. Yes it is only one game, but it could mean the difference between 4th or 5th spot. The AFL fixture is only going to get more weighted, and we are an afterthought in that, considering the AFL plays finals at the MCG that i have been a member of since 1982...i am not very pleased right now. The club may well survive longer but winning a flag just got bloody harder, again. Fcuk it.
  10. can yoh ever be assured that would happen every year?
  11. Glad you are so confident.
  12. It's entirely up to Col. If he has a good year i hope he stays. If it is like the last 9 we won't lose if he goes.
  13. Factor in the Carlton FC now OD. they will move, at our expense.
  14. yes it is about $$$ but it is also about giving the club a chance at playing in September. A badly fixtured draw with this deal could derail the season before it begins. As i said the club is taking a major risk here.
  15. IF we are guarranteed that the 2nd Trip to Darwin means 1 less "Home" game at Etihad then i can live with it (almost) but if we lose a home MCG game and still have to honour an AFL agreement by playing 2 Home fixtures at the Dome, i will not be happy. Yes short term we make some $$$ but long term we will again be a nomad. Carlton will take our place even if it takes a decade. Walking on potentially dangerous grounds..Why? I do not trust the AFL.
  16. Jimma...Age will not weary you. Forever Young R.I.P.
  17. Let's see if he implodes this year first. There is not much going on in Dustin's life apart from footy.
  18. fair points but i don't like big picture. But once again it all comes back to winning.
  19. The future looks dim doesn't it. Have you heard Kernahan's ad on Radio? "The blues want to come home to the 'G"
  20. Carlton will be stoked. Easier ti muscle in on the 'G and remove us slowly from home. Sorry 2 games is not good up there. Too hot and just puts us further from the top clubs. The talks tomorrow are critical.
  21. I have some excitement this year because coaches and players are on the line in 2013. Improve and they will be fine. Another year like last year and they could be in a world of pain. The choice is theirs..There is nothing wrong with demmanding improvement as a supporter base after last years disgrace. I am hoping Mark Neeld feels the same.
  22. i would sure hope so. Tomorrows meeting will be crucial for future planning of any successful template.
  23. We must never Tip Toe around the big clubs. Do that and we die. We fight for the players we need.
  24. You are really serious aern't you. You really do consider yourself part of a higher race than the the mere human being. Reality Check Benny...Your poop smells just as pungent as the the next person. I agree with some of your views on football & the MFC & that is great, but your political stance and disdain for other opinions on this sight is actually humorous. When did the Liberal Party ever have a relevent opinion outside Toorak...?? I think MFC supporters are tough as nails in the main considering the tripe the club has served up over 49 odd years. So i think your put down of MFC supporters is just wrong. But i am sure you will continue your path of arrogance along the lines of your hero Andrew Bolt whose column today made me laugh out loud. Rupert Murdoch's empire is under threat of "Free Speech" Fox News is an embarrassment in terms of fact. Always has been. But i am sure you will disagree.
  25. He has certainly left the door open for a move. Neeld Brown & Dawes should all be having a chat with him. We need September Players..
