We also have a super young list and need to bolster it with some experience. I think Lewis pretty comfortably ticks that box.

Fingers crossed, it'll be something as good as Tom Mitchell for pick 14. I still can't get my head around that deal. The Swans must have huge salary cap issues and a lot of respect for the wishes of their players.
-
If this eventuates, I hope he continues with AFL 360 next year.
-
Brayshaw and Salem are the future of this club. As much as I rate Wines, nein danke. ANB plus next year's first rounder would have to have some currency. Unlike some here, I reckon ANB will be a real goer in the next few years.

My heart just skipped a beat ...
-
Agree. Swans will however never let him go.
-
No. Way.

You'd definitely take Rockcliff, the player, if it didn't cost us too much in terms of the trade and we could afford his $$$ demands. Rockcliff, the bloke, I dunno. But I reckon Goodwin and McCartney would have a fair handle on the cultural impact. I just hope the Hibberd deal gets done soon. He's a very good player and will improve our squad immediately.

That hurts.

First round picks are like confetti to GWS. Pick 1 though might unlock the next Jesse Hogan for them.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Ron Burgundy replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hibberd will become a required player for us in next to no time. A second rounder for him is hardly overs. -
Even though he's a defender, Brand's bloody tall. Can he ruck?
-
Bloody. Hell.
-
Hibberd is a gun. He'll be a top pick up for us.

2016 Player Review - # 13 Clayton Oliver
Ron Burgundy replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Anyone got footage of the mark he took on the wing against the Hawks earlier in the year - I think it was over Hodge or Mitchell. Just out-bodied the much more experienced player and looked like a 200 gamer. -
Felt very sad to hear this on Radio National this morning. Disliked her constant attacks on the MFC during the dark period - in particular in relation to the 'tanking' allegations when Carlton were similarly, if not more, culpable - but she was obviously a good journalist and was a champion to have kept this a secret to protect her family. Cut down far too soon. That's always tragic.
-
Better still - perhaps we should get Colin Sylvia back to assist Gawn with the ruck duties.

The reality is that the AFL is obviously super concerned about the performance of a required AFL club in NRL heartland. Sure, it's total b.s that the Lions get a priority pick in circumstances where we were denied one a few years ago despite having an overwhelming case for getting one. But I don't see this case like that. To my mind, it's more on par with GWS and the Suns getting unbelievable support (i.e. priority picks) in order to succeed. The only difference here is that it's a priority pick going to an established club - the principles remain similar though. A weak Brisbane Lions is bad business for the national completion, whereas we were just another struggling Melbourne based club with an unfortunate narrative.

This signing makes me happy. I like Pedo.

Jesse Hogan re-signs to end of Season 2019
Ron Burgundy replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
You could possibly credibly claim that you introduced Aaron Vandenberg to Jason Taylor. -
Obviously we'd have little to no chance of landing him, but I reckon Mark Blicavs is the player we need. He'd be perfect.

Jesse Hogan re-signs to end of Season 2019
Ron Burgundy replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Hogan spends his whole playing career at the Dees we will have won at least one flag by the end of it. He's that important. -
Jesse Hogan re-signs to end of Season 2019
Ron Burgundy replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm pumped about this. We can build a flag around this bloke. If we now secure Hibberd for a second round pick and perhaps also land Michael Barlow for a set of steak knives (essentially to take the spot opened up through Matt Jones' departure), I'm content for the club to do nothing more in this trade period. Our future success will come from the players already at the club. Top work Josh Mahoney. -
The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Ron Burgundy replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm doing very well, thanks. I did find it super ironic that certain posters here were getting fired up about other posters who were not exactly, to the word, reporting what a couple of charlatans on commercial radio were speculating was going on as if the underlying rumour had just been announced by Josh Mahoney. I mean, really.
