  1. I've never seen any evidence of this and I reckon it's a Demonland rumour that's only grown legs here . People forget that Todd & Jack spent a fair few years in Adelaide. Toumpas would have been right under Todd's nose as well & I'd imagine Jack & Jimmy playd a fair bit of rep footy together
  2. No doubt you are well versed in what happened to yours & what was the treatment & outcome Can you just stop pretending you have the first clue about Toumpas injury & prognosis Or at least change your name to Dr. WYL so we can all be sure of your expertise
  3. Rivers was injured for most of his first year at Geelong
  4. You got an amusing story out of it. There are worse names for a dog than Ollie. Just be glad we weren't in the frame to draft Kamdyn McIntosh. That would take some explaining
  5. I somehow doubt that when assessing potential draftees, your physical condition and medical history carries much weight with AFL recruiters
  6. No. A rival club nominating forces you to use your next pick. So a club finishing higher than Collingwood can only force Moore into the second round Clubs finishing below Collingwood, therefore with earlier picks in the draft can nominate him with their first round selection forcing the Pies to use theirs I suspect any hope they had of Moore slipping to the second round evaporated in his last game. He put himself firmly on the radar if he wasn't already
  7. Based on what ? Serious question. A few on here are keen on him I understand he spent pretty much all of 2013 injured but this year I've not seen anything in J O'R that suggests he's an unfulfilled talent that we could magically transform Tyson by comparison had injury concerns but he also had a Rising Star nom along with a few other good games. His exposed form was pretty good. I just don't see that in J O'R. Help me out here.
  8. A lot got it wrong. GWS more than anyone. What gives me the irrits is [censored] on here carrying on like it was an obvious oversight. Whitfield (clearly ahead) & Toumpas were touted as 1 & 2 from along way out Re-do that draft with 20/20 hindsight and Ollie goes No.1. He is a mile ahead of Whitfield at the moment. O'Rourke ? Plowman ? Both have done even less than Jimmy T. He's a ripper young Ollie & I'm going to enjoy watching him - hopefully for two more finals this year As an aside, the infamous poster Picket Fence gives me the [censored]. He bangs on ad infinitum about his chosen few topics, is often wrong and I suspect is quite mad. Nonetheless he was steadfast in his belief that Wines was the player we needed to take. Well before the draft. So when he pumps up Wines & mourns our not taking him - fair enough. Credit to PF, he saw it & called it early unlike most of the hindsight heroes. . Just wish he wouldn't use Ollie's success as an excuse to bag the player we did select.

    NFL

I'll start this with good intentions but I'm odds-on to forget to submit tips most weeks Steelers Saints Seahawks Not as easy as it looks
  10. The polar opposite to what Roos said the other day - more than once
  11. Pre-draft. It was a bit of a puff piece interview asking Jack how he felt about being taken as a father-son selection to Melbourne. The question about who he'd like to see drafted with him was at the end. I think it stuck in my head because I was surprised by the answer - it was well publicised that Jack & Ollie were mates - so I expected to hear him say Wines It's likely Viney played a fair bit of rep footy with JT as he spent a few years in Adelaide after leaving Wines behingd in Echuca
  12. Classical thread this
  13. It was on a video, I think on the club site. I cbf digging it out again so off you go
  14. That's pretty much my thoughts on Salem
  15. And despite all that, when JV was asked who he'd like to see drafted alongside him his answer was Jimmy Toumpas Go figure
  16. I wouldn't describe Harry as a Hack but I don't think he satisfies our main need off half back. We consistently shoot ourselves in the foot with poor disposal and decision making resulting in turnovers Harry can find the footy, he can break lines but his disposal & decision making aren't great. Better than some we have currently but not great. His one on one defending is ordinary at best & he doesn't really do the mop-up across half back like Heath Shaw for example. I'd be doubling our efforts to get Malceski. He is what we need. Failing that I'd be looking to prise Suckling away from the Hawks. Suckling has been described as a one trick pony but it's a trick we are desperately in need of - the ability to use the footy. If Collingwood are so desperate to be shed of Harry O then I'd be saying ok, we'll take him off your hands but don't expect much for him. His value is limited - he's played 200 games & he's not likely to have many more seasons left in him. If you don't like it, find him another home. Nor would I tie him to a deal involving Clark. Two very separate situations & transactions
  17. I'd rather keep Byrnes.
  18. Eddie does appear to have been quiet about this but I get the feeling that H and Collingwood have had enough of each other. A new club might give his footy a bit of a boost Like most things, if the price is right you'd take him. He'd strengthen the squad I don't think his kicking is as bad as some make out here. It's certainly better than a lot of our current lot. I do agree with the poster that mentioned his one on one defending being poor However I'd hope that we secure Malceski first. Him we need.
  19. Agreed. Another dumb-arse Schwab idea. Surprised you let that one slip through to the 'keeper WYL
  20. Shaun Rehn had 3 knee re-co's and still managed an outstanding career. A bit early to be preparing Max's obituary
  21. Fair point on failing to improve what have now become lost causes With regard to the bit I've highlighted, did the FD bloke say why ? Ability or attitude ? I've heard from a few sources that it doesn't take a lot for young Blease to get on very good terms with himself
  22. They are just making stuff up now. Where is the rule that stipulates the degree of force to be used in a shepherd or block ?There has been a massive over-reaction to a few players being victim of their own lack of awareness. Justin Koshitskey in particular has a lot to answer for For mine, if you are out there and the ball is within 60 metres, you should be prepared for contact, be it a shepherd, a full-on bump or a solid nudge to put you off balance. It is a contact sport and anyone out there relying on the kindness of others is a mug. As for our game, the tom McDonald decision just summed it up. While all three umpires were rubbish I have long thought Schmitt by name........................
  23. Same singer. Both songs used in disaster films. Poseidon Adventure & Towering Inferno Both horrid as well
  24. Caught the second half so thank to the OP for the advice. Jeez he is a skilful interviewee PJ. Not once did he let Hutchison turn his replies into anything other than what Jackson wanted to say Just not sure the Melbourne polo shirt was a great idea. He struggles to fill it out !
  25. I feel more than a little dirty in saying this but I hope those goat-rooting, drug abusing red & black prix win by in excess of 120 points next week God I hate North
