  1. Yes, I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous
  2. Looks more like a cow or a bison than a Demon
  3. Super off both feet. I had to go back & find a kick from a mark to be sure what his preferred side was.
  4. Yep - up til then he could only kick goals on Nathan Carroll People forget it takes a while for most big blokes to be AFL ready Which underlines why those dismissing Tom Boyd may well rue their words Also underlines what a freak we have in Jesse !
  5. I doubt he's a walk up start for Geelong either
  6. Except for the fact that Scache has openly said he wants to play for Brisbane - like his dad did. So go-home factor wouldn't be an issue
  7. Sorry mate but that's just conjecture on your part
  8. Agree with this. I thought NN was exposed on the big stage. Eagles fans will tell you that his stats aren't important, it's the other intangibles he brings. Pressure, tackling, ground ball knock ons etc. Yesterday the Eagles were screaming out for a marking target as they brought the ball out of the backline & they got nothing. He is a media darling which is not his fault but I'd suggest if he looked like Sam Jacobs you'd never hear about him.
  9. I didn't hear of any other clubs waving big contracts under Dunn's nose so the circumstances are very different
  10. Clinton Young Mk II
  11. Started ok, progressed to ordinary & then completely tapered off
  12. No surprises there. Maybe Fitz might have been kept as we are lacking backup talls
  13. There are precious few posters who's "mail" I take with more than a grain of salt CiP is one of them. He has a few runs on the board
  14. It was all of the hirsute players. One of Barassi's first edicts was that all the beards had to go. The mo's survived the cut though Bakes was a ripper. Great one grab mark Hardeman is still the best CHB I've seen play for Melbourne. And we lost a couple of his prime years. I'm pretty sure he went to SA for a quid
  15. Jake Melksham
  16. You didn't make it up - I saw it too Flabbergasted I actually would rather have Cale Morton back
  17. Ad infinitum & people still won't get it. As evidenced by post #47 I agree that PJ should apply for a priority pick - even if for no other reason than to expose the Carlton farce
  18. Casboult's set shots have improved out of sight in the second half of the season. I think they got Big Sav to work with him to great effect. He has a terrific set of hands Does tend to go missing though....often for weeks at a time
  19. The other advantage of that setup is that all three can play all roles. So with reduced rotations off the bench you get to rotate one deep - almost resting - after a spell working hard up into the midfield That is an exciting looking forward line with HB in the mix. And if Harmes last game was a sign of things to come rather than a flash in the pan....... From what I've read from GWS fans they share your view that Tomlinson is not a backman. Indeed they're quite derisive of his defensive efforts
  20. I think it had as much to do with Howe not being able to get a sniff of the footy up forward.
  21. Agreed. That and Salem's tackle on Cameron were the two load blowing moments of the day It is a very Ox-like play. Used to love the Ox running into open goal against Essendon trying to damage their cheer squad with his kick The 2015 leading goal kickers is a good read. Roughead, Cloke, N.Reiwoldt, Petrie & Pavlich all kicked less goals than Jesse. Hawkins kicked only 2 more than him, Franklin only 3 In his first year of AFL. The more you analyse it the more stunning it gets
  22. I've thought this for a while. He'd be a nightmare matchup on the wing & a great target when bringing the ball out of defence To me he remains the most frustrating player on the list. More raw talent than most. Less concentration & application than most
  23. I'd long thought that, if left there, he could become a really decent CHB Not sure about the sook thing either. His best season for us followed a massive self-imposed pre-season. The old 10 mile run on Xmas day type and it paid dividends Next season it all went titz up and I'm not convinced he was mainly responsible Really good player now. Plays like a giant ruck rover although a few of his taps in the last quarter were superb. He's skilled up in that area too Ah well - I guess when you give that many players the lemonade & sars, odds are one will come back to bite you
  24. Lots of Jeffy & Jesse moments but for me it was Big Max announcing himself at Geelong Prior to that he'd largely been a bit of a loveable figure of fun. One that we'd thought / hoped might have had a bit of ability That game & those clunking contested marks were like a statement. "Look at me muthas - I CAN SERIOUSLY F#$%NG PLAY" If his body holds up he could be anything. The vision, awareness & the handball to release (I think) Viney into space yesterday were sublime
  25. I reckon at the halfway mark, McDonald would have had a bigger lead than Vo Rogue He had an ordinary month or so but has finished pretty solidly> he was among our best in most of the woeful team performances of the last month
