  1. Has nobody noticed the 'bootcamp' run by Beamer and other members of the Dee's leadership team this week?

The guy bleeds red & blue and deserves a good look in as the next Demon captain!!!

Can someone please link the article - I'm hopeless with this stuff!!!

  2. Two decisions today that completely baffle me and both should have led to Melbourne scoring

    1. Non holding the ball against Reid. Did the ball brush his foot or something because seriously he had a tonne of prior opportunity

    2. Front on contact (to either Watts or Miller not sure) not payed against Harry O. Has been paid 100 times this year but not on this occasion. These 2 left me completely bewildered.

Sadly every other decision was within the umpires normal range of error I believe.

Also grow some balls the ump that didn't pay deliberate against Shaw when Dunn chased him. He kicked it straight to the boundary and 40m from a team mate. They paid one against Heath Scotland last week that was exactly the same.

Reid got boot to ball, it was a dribbler, but still a correct disposal.

Harry O turned in the air and always kept his eyes on the ball. If Miller had half a brain, he could have taken a step or two under the ball jumped early and taken the hit earlier for an obvious free kick.

Shaw was pushed as he kicked it, which affected his disposal. Can't pay dleiberate when a player is pushed off his kick.

If you want to raise questions, ask that turd burglar McBurney why he paid holding the ball against Moloney? Moloney had the ball for less than a millisecond, was jumped on by three players who all pinned his arms and then proceeded to lecture Moloney about giving him ample time to dispose of it!! Not the point and not the rule McBurney, the rule revolves around prior opportunity and in that case there was none! Secondly, Jordan Gysberts who was ironed out in the last quarter, not only was he smashed in the back, but he had his head taken off in a move that could only be described as a 3D!

  3. Oh please!! Last I heard, Gold Coast had given up on the race for Ablett and started throwing big money at Bail, Miller, Petterd, Spencer, Dunn, Bartram, Jurrah, Frawley, Yze, Robbo & Lyon... I'm sick of hearing crap like this! Show me a signature and I'll show you some interest.

PS- Whatever would we do without Bail??!!

  4. The only thing he should take off his facebook, is you.

OMG people!! Get over it! People post stuff like that on FB all the time, when they do it's so thier mates CAN hang [censored] on them! It's not like Morts has turned himself into the pseudo papparazzi, or is dreaming of having trenner's babies or wants to wear his skin as a coat! He's having a giggle at a mate's expense, one of the true and lasting traditions of footy. Let him have his fun.

FFS! WAY too many lawyers, wowsers and naysayers about here.

  5. The only thing wrong with Watts is that self proclaimed "experts" keep jumping on forums after only 5 AFL games and proclaim that he will be no good or should be dropped because he is going through a bad patch of form! How you go through a form slump after 5 games is beyond me! FFS people, take a deep breath and try to see what the club are doing! They know that at present he is not good enough, they are simply trying to fast track his development by pumping games into him.

Perhaps we should pay more attention to the coach when he and the administration all state that this year will focus on developing our list, pumping games into our younger players and using these games to build upon thier experience as AFL footballers. Not an unusual concept this. KPPs also take a bit of time to show thier true abilities, Nick Reiwoldt won the rising star award in his third year as a footballer! Not saying Jack is the same player as Reiwoldt, but perhaps the timeline should remembered before the doomsdayers start publishing utter diatribe about a 5 game veteran going through a form slump!

  6. Why are we worried about Ricky leaving? I think we need to reasses the way we are thinking about this. It's plain that Ricky is using the situation to increase the value of his next contract. It's a simple proposition we put to Ricky, go for great money and take your chances at the Gold Coast, given what he's been through in the past 3 years, he'll have plenty of experience in a losing team.

Or, believe in what we are doing here and come along for the ride. The money won't be as good, but the ride will be [censored] hot! With or without you, we're still going. We have plenty of players who'll fill the void up front Jurrah, Wonna, Jetta, Bennell, Watts, Bate, Miller, Green, Davey, Sylvia. That's nine recognised forwards already, let alone our developing talent. You're either with us or your not, if your not, goodbye & goodluck (you'll need it).

I think Moloney said last year - "We are heading in a straight line. We will not deviate from that line. If you don't want to come with us, go to Carlton, go to wherever" It needs to be our mantra when dealing with these matters.

  7. You haven't really thought about this have you?

Both teams could have a bye the week after. They were talking about 2015, which is five years from now. Each team in the AFL will have two byes per year. Problem solved.

More the point, why would you give a crap? It's Collingwood & Essendon. Any chance to make thier life tougher is ok by me. Send them to Beruit for all I care.

  8. I know it's a strange concept, but umpires are actually human and do make mistakes, much like our players, who missed several chances in front of goal. The difference is, the mistakes umpires make, quite often cost them thier jobs and future opportunities, whereas players get another game & another opportunity. Be fair folks, umpires are held to far higher standards than our players and the penalties for thier mistakes are far higher.

  9. Thanks for those, the ones I remember were

    James McDonald - Jnr

    Newton - Juice

Bruce - was either Cameron the Bruce or a deep slow "Broooooce" as he kicked

    Davey was the same

I believe Bate gets - Master

    Regards Darren

Bate's is pronounced 'Mass - ta'

    Add to you list

    Jones - Nate Dog

    Grimes - Franky

Bartram - Barts (although he did nickname himself the Junk Yard Dog )

    Trengove - Trenners

    Sylvia & Garland - Col
