  1. If we had a golden goal, and the other team scores 7 or more points then the team with the higher score will lose.
  2. Did anyone else notice that it was also Jason Pongracic that took out Mitch King's legs rupturing his ACL? Again, it appears that there is no obvious malice, but extreme carelessness in his aggressive attack on the ball.
  3. With the limit on rotations, who will play forward or back? Which forwards will spend time in the midfield? It is going to be interesting to see how this plays out this year, I see Brayshaw , Petracca and Vandenberg rotating through midflield and forward. Will ANB, Stretch, JKH(If he gets a game), Kent, Harmes, & Garlett play midfield? Like the good old times where the ruck-rovers and rovers rested in the pockets.
  4. Vince will not play half back; the team looks to lack pace (Stretch and ANB will be picked before Trengove). And considering his injuries, Dawes will not go into a game as the 2nd ruckman. Sam Frost has played 3 games for Melbourne, one of them in defence and one he got injured early, so it is unfair to say he looks out of position up front and cannot read the ball in flight after only one game...

  6. Saints will not be there, they play Essendon and Carlton (and us) twice.
  7. How did Gawn go, the Saints important looked like he had an OK in regards to stats?
  8. Toumpas did a soft option in the 3rd, when he chose to kick off the ground instead of picking it up when hot.
  9. This is a great idea, after 22 rounds Terlich MIGHT start hitting targets - or maybe not. Also I don't think Essendon are that stupid with Worsfold in charge.
  10. Again, today's news again shows how compromised the draw is. 5 teams play Essendon twice, - GCS, Geelong, Richmond, Carlton, and St Kilda. Melbourne only plays Essendon in round 2 and Carlton in the second last round. The Saints get both to play both Essendon and Carlton twice.
  11. The odds are just a reflection on where the bets are being laid. The top 8 adds up to $83.00 and it used to be $99.40; the top 4 adds up to $29.00 and it used to be $51.20 so the bookie is hedging. Essendon being above Melbourne is just a reflection that more deluded people are betting on Essendon than Melbourne.
  12. Hopefully Freo will revert back to their steady state of crappiness by the time Jesse's contract is up for renewal.
  13. Nothing like Richie McCaw's effort on Saturday night that will be brushed off as playing with the spirit of rugby.
  14. Interesting point, over 5 seasons he averages 5.5 marks and 1.63 contested marks per game; which is better than Jack Reiwoldt (5.39 & 1.57). The marks per game would be inflated by playing in the backline. Playing as a forward, he will find his run at the ball blocked a lot more. He has kicked only 0.8 goals per game (deflated by playing in the backline). Maybe Collingwood have been reading money-ball. I only really see Howe kicking most of his goals after marks; so I doubt he will get to the 30, but it will be interesting.
  15. Really, in the modern game how is playing on the wing any different to half back? I also believe that he will be back in the back line when his returns as a forward don't eventuate as they hope.
  16. I don't know why, but in that highlight package he reminds me of Tom Scully.
  17. He is Tasmanian, so he has already moved interstate... wtf?
  18. Brisbane did well trading Redden a year before he became eligible for free agency. I thought that Selwood and Redden are both on par. I can see why the WCE chairman sees why Selwood is worth a first round pick as compensation.
  19. Endurance will just as important as pace with the new restrictions on interchanging next year.
  20. From reading the article the age today, it sounds like the offers from other clubs are not that great for Jeremy. Maybe he will stay.
  21. Stop this, it is just giving Carlton ammunition that they deserve pick 2 for Kruezer.
  22. I have no idea where he wants to go, but he is close to Neville.
