  1. Way too early to be making comparisons with anyone! Saying that, it`s hard to believe he has only played about 5 or 6 games of AFL footy. He must be averaging 17 - 20 touches a game and looks like he belongs. Some very encouraging signs! If he could work on his pace he could become very important for our future.

  2. So now Dunn's a hack after being beaten?

Talk about NFI guys. He's still 21 and learning his craft. Dunny will learn and Harvey is a soft staging little [censored].

Agree. He was beaten today by a bloke who may win the brownlow and Scotty F`n McLaren will make sure he got 3 today! I would have been incensed Like Dunny watching Harvey fake a hit if I got reported a second time in 30 seconds too! Good on ya Dunny you`ve had a good year son and a bit more mongrel will do just nicely. Harvey, you can play footy but you`re just a girls blouse like your mate McLaren

  3. 22 year old male right here. Been a fruitless time growing up as a dees supporter lol Wish I was around for 64!

You young blokes have been spoilt with all our finals appearances in the last 20 years. I am 39 and enjoyed my first finals when I was 18! (`87, and how bittersweet it was!)

  4. PJ has always had this in him IMO he has just had a shocking run of injuries in the past 2 to 3 years. Would love to see him play a season without injury. He is one of the very few enjoyments I have had watching our games this year.

  5. Woeful first quarter but after that we at least had a crack despite some unbelievably bad turnovers. I would hazard a guess that at least 9 of North`s goals were from turnovers. Liked the way the boys started the last quarter with very good intensity and had a sniff for a few moments. We won the second half which has been rare for 2 years! Can`t remember being so bloody cold at a game of footy in a long time.

  6. He's a total waste of space. There is no room for improvement in this kid. Seriously. I'd rather have Carroll or White playing instead of him, because gives absolutely nothing and there's no positivity coming from him being in the seniors.

Couldnt agree more! Col Garland has pantsed a lot of us with his amazing improvement, but I am pretty confident that Newton is just no good. Even first gamer Maric knows it after he saw Newton make a lead 1 on 1 on the members wing and decided Miller against 2 opponents was a far better option. Drop Juice now and see what he does at Sandy again. He does not deserve a spot with his pathetic second efforts and a horrible habit of going to ground from very little impact. Disappointing!

  7. This season is all about next season & our future beyond. Don't panic, have faith, & trust the people that are in charge are experienced FOOTY PEOPLE who shed tears of blood for the club.

We are seeing this year onfield changing of the guard, (players), & now in full witness of the changing off field leadership taking place.

Don't panic about the press, they don't run the club, nor do they run your life.

    Be proud 'n' brave Dees.

Well said DL. We are also starting to see a bit of mongrel in the club which has been missing for far too long. eg. dropping underperforming senior players and clearing out board n management that arent part of the future. There is some serious moving and shaking happening and I like it!

  8. My boy maric might be in line for his debut. :)

Hope u are right and I reckon you might be! As per the norm all year, first gamers have actually played if they have been named in the 25 for the first time. I hope he gets a run

  9. Spot on Cards, Jamars previous best was 12 vs Brisbane this year at the Gabba.

He had a season high of 4(!) kicks today, and equal career high of 10 handballs, also against Brisbane at the MCG 3 weeks ago.

Add to that another career-equalling high of 7 tackles to match his efforst against the Dogs last week, and he's doing OK.

128 Supercoach points! Jeff White may just get the one game in Round 22 and that will be it.

  10. I can't beleive you people. With the amount of supply he had, he used it very well. Words can't describe how idiotic it is to say he played bad today.

Call me an idiot, but he had a bad game today! Plenty of friends though. We just have to keep playing him . Surely he will show us something by years end.

  11. I am glad you are not our coach.

Cheers Jerry. All I am saying is he should be encouraged to run with it and take on the man. Yes , he is turning it over occassionally but SFW. He is learning , getting better and it`s good to watch when he breaks the lines. His skills will improve when he`s played 30 odd games

  12. His chase downs and tackling was sensational in the win against Brisbane. Hope he stays in the side and continuies to progress.

He is looking more confident out there the past 2 games and maybe he is starting to believe he has what it takes. Love the way he takes on the opposition. Couldnt care less how often he turns it over this year cos he will improve with more gane time. How many has he played?? 10?? He suits our game plan and he has a future.

  13. Have to say I thought it was a shocking turnout from D`s fans. As I walked from the train station til I walked in the gates I doubt I saw more than 20 D`s fans. I heard the call on MMM and I had to agree that it was our fans that didnt show up! Sat next to an top bloke, older Demon`s fan and he agreed we are the most fickle fans in the comp.

  14. Cooney's 2008 stats

Dunn has done the best job on Cooney this year.

Also kept WB to their lowest score of the year.

Thanks for that Chooka! Awesome effort Dunny, Cooney was averaging 28 touches a game before yesterday. For anyone who does not see this as valuable to the team and would rather he play forward, you seriously do not understand the game of football

  15. Another scalp today. I would like to see Cooney`s stats for the year . I think you would find he had his most ineffective day all year. Cooney had 17 touches, Dunn had 15! Pretty sure Cooney would be averaging well over 25 a game. Against one of the faves for the Brownlow, Dunn has done his job yet again!!

  16. I struggle a little with the Valenti will be better than Jones thing. I don't think Valenti's body will allow him to bust packs or break and lay strong tackles likes Jones will learn to in time.

On a side note, Denis Cometti said today that Valenti is "built like a fire hydrant."

I also thought Stefan Martin looked the part today. Would love to know what those at the game thought.

Martin was one of the big plusses today IMO. Played on Hahn who has a much bigger body and consistently spoiled him. Good signs
