Something like GC gain: Seedsman, Pick 6 (From Melb) Pick 25 (From Melb) Coll gain: Howe, Pick 22 (From GC) Melb gain: Kennedy, Pick 3 (From GC), Pick 44 (From Coll) Seems pretty fair all round

Because Collingwood is closer to a flag than North. The wheels are about to fall off at the Kangas.

I wonder if Treloar has a strong relationship with Tyson and Bugg (potentially). That would make things interesting

I just don't see what outstanding offer we could make to GWS that other clubs wouldn't be willing to match/trump

Probably because he has absolutely no interest in coming to us. Which is why only Collingwood and Carlton (PSD) seem to be in the conversation at this point.

2015: Us P6, Pies P7 2016: ??? Don't buy it. I don't think we are in the conversation for Treloar unfortunately

GWS knocked back Collingwood's offer of 2015 & 2016 1st rounders. Why would they accept ours, and throw in Bugg and a 2nd rounder too?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Mondê replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't get the negativity, with Cross gone we need another established mid/half back. Pick 25 is a lottery, at least we know what we are getting with Melk...tackles hard, is pretty quick, and has room for improvement. Nice one FD -
Potentially, my money would be on Darcy Parish if a trade like that eventuates.

latest on Howe from AFL website. "The 25-year-old played his 100th game with Melbourne in the final round but he has played in just 22 wins since making his debut in round 11, 2011. The Suns made a presentation to him last week and are understood to be very keen on him joining the fledgling club, with a role as a mobile forward alongside Tom Lynch likely to suit Howe. They are also likely to be in a better position to get a deal done quickly with the Demons. Melbourne hold pick No.6 and the Suns have pick No.3 and potentially pick No.10 if they trade Charlie Dixon to Port Adelaide. They might be able to shuffle picks in any deal involving Howe. On Friday, Howe's manager Ben Niall indicated on trade radio Howe was more likely to leave the Demons than stay. He is expected to make a decision when he returns from Bali this week." ...Wonder what they have in mind for the "shuffling of picks"?

Welcome to modern trading. Everybody wants to win trades and nobody wants to lose out. Some clubs are worse than others, Essendon are disgusting to trade with...the interstate teams seem fairly reasonable.
-
I don't think number of games played would have a bearing on any potential trade to be honest. For example I'm sure North would trade Atley (100 games) for Brayshaw (15-20)... Quality > Quantity Just looking at North's second rounder, it's 34 so maybe you would be on the money with a package deal, with us potentially throwing in a later round pick.
-
I don't think he's worth both a young player and a 2nd rounder. Would be one or the other in my opinion
-
I'd take North's Pick 15 for him. Hopefully we find ourselves in the midst of a bidding war
-
And you formed this opinion based on a three minute highlight reel?

2015 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Mondê replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
What is your point? There are always going to be U/18 captains that don't make it, but generally speaking it's always a big tick to recruiters if they have been selected to lead a squad. And for the record I think JKH will be on the list for a long period of time. -
I would be getting on the phone to Aish's manager, the kid is going to be a darn good player. Pies will probably get him with the picks they will receive for Freeman/Seedsman

I actually think we are closer to a flag than GC. I don't think Prestia will leave this trade period, what we need to do now is make sure we finish above GC in 2016 and push for top 8. A successful 2016 season will do wonders for our chances of recruiting Dion. Forget about $$$, he will get that wherever he plays...its all about on field
-
That doesn't include shots that end up out on the full... Not a joke, I think there would be plenty.
-
Yeah he had a couple of VFL games where he hit the scoreboard, but he just flashes in and out of games. He will have a moment of brilliance and than go missing for a whole quarter, like Howe. I have gotten to the stage where I want players who will themselves to contest after contest. Players always make their presence felt even if they are having an off day. I don't see that desperation to be involved in Lennon
-
Disagree, he hasn't put four quarters together in the VFL let alone the seniors. Don't see what role he would play for us

2015 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Mondê replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not impressed by Balic in the slightest, looks slow and his kicking hit and miss. Darcy Tucker is my pick if we hold onto 6. I'm massive on players who are captains in the U/18, goes to show someone rates their leadership and character to appoint them to that role. Bullet left boot and a tough nut, if we don't get Parish it's this guy or Curnow for me. -
Not me. Awful footballer
-
Won't get past the Saints at Pick 5 I wouldn't have thought.
