  1. You can't tell me Lachie Neale has had a better year than Bernie. I've watched plenty of Freo as well. Joke
  2. The current system has to change. It's unfathomable that we could end up with pick 3 for Frawley, Carlton could get Pick 2 for Kreuzer, and Hawthorn get Pick 19 for Franklin.
  3. Haha. Well Treloar has nominated the Pies and the general consensus is that Danger is off to Geelong. I wouldn't say I'm negative, just realistic about our ability to sign top end talent over our better resourced and more successful competitors.
  4. Watts doesn't play tall. Prestia has ruled out a move to us, and O'Meara won't be going anywhere. Think we have missed out on all the top end talent available this time around (as usual). We aren't an attractive destination at present and won't be until we are playing finals consistently.
  5. Not the end of the world. Develop strong characters from within
  6. Jesse's game against Richmond in the wet Viney's progression in the midfield Brayshaw's rookie season has been memorable Vandemon showed plenty off the rookie list Bernie's year Salem's move to half back
  7. So being a Melbourne supporter (obviously why you're here) how would it make you feel if Harley brought our club into disrepute for striking out on the drugs poilicy? Or getting arrested for DUI? Culture is pretty important at footy clubs these days...
  8. Seriously? Of course its more acceptable for staff in a profession that don't have a governing body testing your organisation for exactly these types of drugs. I never said it defined who you were, if you are an professional league footballer, you simply can't do it. The image of the club, its stakeholders and the entire league is at stake. If you want to do it, go be a doctor, go be an architect.
  9. This is just a small part of a bigger story. Are you forgetting that he was caught on tape snorting cocaine? The Suns gave a directive to their players to go easy on Mad Monday celebrations, they didn't want any more headlines. He just screams of trouble maker. I wouldn't be disappointed if we weren't into him.
  10. Difficult one. Great footballer, troubled man. Wouldn't give up a top ten pick for him.
  11. Loved the game. Like many have already stated Salem is such a calming influence with ball in hand, he's silk. And he's got some mongrel as well. Hogan was Hogan-Esque, he is a seriously mouth watering prospect. Most of all I really noticed the willingness to work as a team, a refreshing change from the last few weeks. Add Petracca and to this side, as well as a (hopefully) fit and firing Trenners and Dom...Seriously think we can begin our push for the 8 as soon as next season. No veil of negativity here
  12. Can't argue with that. Pretty impressed with Taylor's efforts so far as list manager, I'd back him to nail pick 4 if we had it. The wheel always turns (seems to turn slower for the MFC)
  13. Can't see the Dons beating Collingwood, think it'll be Pick 5 for us. Just on that though... The Dogs got Bontempelli with Pick 4. I don't buy the curse
  14. Seriously? The bloke is useless. Jack is no world beater but jeez he's done more than Day.
  15. Granted there were other factors that led to the ball being there in the first place but honestly he was 50m away from his opponent who kicked the winning goal. All I'm saying is that he needs to improve his accountability
  16. Ironically it was also Jimmys fault that montagna was able to kick the goal that sunk us. Lined up on him when the ball was bounced and was in no man's land when Montagna got the ball. It was a nice offensive display by Jimmy but he still has a long way to go defensively.
  17. He won't be coming to us, but in fantasy land he'd actually fill a really important role for us off half back. Tomlinson would be great and I hope Dom and Frosty are getting in the ears of some of these homesick GWS kids.
  18. My order or preference for our pick which is looking certain to be pick 5. 1. Parish 2. Francis 3. Tucker 4. Weidemann
  19. Why are there so many suggestions of trading howe for player x? I thought he was a free agent...
  20. Emphatic yes from me. Another avenue to goal would be brilliant.
  21. It's quite simple... Win games of footy and the 'veil of negativity' ceases to exist. In actual fact I believe questioning the supporters positivity is offensive. Despite all the pain the team has dragged us through we are consistently the loudest and most passionate fans on match day. We aren't the ones on the field running around like pansys picking and choosing when they can be bothered showing pride in the jumper.
  22. Tanking in 2007 and the players part of that era. Its cooked us.
  23. Absolutely demoralising to us supporters. The bare minimum we expect is effort...it's just awful.
  24. That footage is 14 weeks old so hopefully he's in even better shape now!
  25. He's a midfielder who can win his own ball, also possessing good spread and skills on the outside. Rhys Mathieson and Parish are the best midfielders (non-academy) in this draft, with Mathieson the better natural ball winner but Parish having slightly more polish at this stage. Both country lads who should be around the mark when we call out our first name. Darcy Tucker will also be right in contention as well. He suited up for North Ballarat in the VFL on the weekend and looked right at home. His composure and kicking were a class above for a kid of his age.
