  1. What's with the outfits these two teams are wearing??  If they'd both just worn their traditional jumpers, there would be no clash!  I just don't get it!  Aren't the teams proud of their jumpers any more??

I believe it will be full once Hore comes onto the Rookie list.

Having said that, I'm fairly certain we can move Melksham to the "inactive" list due to his ACL and can possibly sign another ssp player or someone at the mid-season draft.

Not sure what happens when Melksham returns, presumably Melksham is the active player and his "replacement", so to speak, becomes ineligible for AFL games.

I'm certainly not up with all the rules.  But, I was kinda surprised Melksham wasn't just put straight on to the long-term injured list, rather than delisting him and then adding him to Rookie list.

I’ve asked my Demon Army bestie who created this and I’m just waiting to hear back from her. If she can provide it I’ll post it here.

    And here ‘tis…

She’s guessing our replacement home game will be either round nine or round 15. More likely round 15 since that’s vs North as opposed to round nine which is vs Carlton.

WCW, please tell your friend she is the BEST!!  Finding a nice, single line per game fixture is virtually impossible to find these days.  I usually have to make my own.  This saves a LOT of work!!  Cheers!

    This is the DA spreadsheet.

Hey, WCW, is there any way of getting this version of the Dees Fixture without the red highlighting?  Would be very grateful if you can provide.  many thanks!

  5. I recall, back when Goldstein was far and away the best Ruckman in the League, Max made the statement that he wanted to be as good as Goldstein (or words to that effect).  At the time, I thought yep, that's a nice thing to aspire to, not really, deep down, believing he would ever achieve it, and kinda thinking he was just biting off a bit more than he could chew.  At the time, he was just an average Ruckman, and to effectively say you were gonna become the best was a stretch too far.

    Guess what!

    He did it.

And, then, he just kept on getting better & better & better!

From where he came from, with his slack training, poor habits and knee recos, what he has achieved is truly remarkable, and he deserves all the plaudits that he gets!

    Well done Maxie!!

anyone know what the issue with Hibbo was?  marked as injured but maybe more of a old man managed for a week?

we need him back this week

Pretty sure Goody said in a Presser that he was just being managed, and that he'll definitely be back next game.  Think he also said that, given his age, Hibbo will be managed this way for the rest of the year...

  7. Really gotta feel for the guy.  #1 Draft pick.  Opportunity of a lifetime to play the game at the highest level, as a KPF.  Series of concussions, and he has to prematurely end his career.  Then, bobs up on Sydney's list, and starts playing great footy as a defender, alongside his brother.  Once again living the dream.  Then, yet another concussion, and the future again looks bleak.  Dunno if it's true, but media today reported he's now suffered TEN concussions in his career.  That is simply horrendous!

As I said at the start, really gotta feel for him.  Such a shame.  But, guess he's not alone in having an otherwise potentially great footy career curtailed by injury.

Hope Sunday is reminiscent of the legendary Greg Parke's first game.

Great memories there!  Loved Greg Parke!  He was a copper during the week, and controlled traffic at CHF of Sat arvo!  (Great to hear the dulcet sounds of Tony Charlton's commentary, too!)

Yes, a debut like that for our new debutante would be wonderful!

His dad was as courageous a player as you would see.

The term "Kamakaze" springs to mind!  Seem to recall that when he first started, he would constantly throw himself in with such gay abandon that he would invariably get himself injured, and miss the following week.

Yes i will never forget the finger to the Members!! At the time I didn’t love it though

We got him to 200 games and then we got the Finger!!

I seem to recall that he was asked after the game about the gesture to the Members.  He simply explained that he was ordering a coffee with two sugars...!  A lovable larrikan!

Accidentally posted this in the RD 1 pre game thread. Reposting it here.

Max was credited with three goals in the first half yesterday yet I swear I only saw him kick two. One in the first quarter from the goal square and another in the second from a strong mark.

I also recall Spargo kicking three for the match yet he's only credited with two.

To be fair to the scorers, it is very difficult to tell Maxy & Spargs apart...

Just a 'corky' according to Goody in his presser. Can't imagine he'll have any issue getting up in two weeks time.

Yep.  After the game Jacko was walking around with ice attached to the back of his leg, well below the knee...
