Gold Coast? A marketing dream.

Unless Saty is Dank . . .
-
Specific claims of illegality are not the immediate problem. I didn't see the Footy Show but the OP said Purple suggested WADA would reopen the case. That's probably his mail and that's a shadow over us we really don't need - one the media and public will certainly jump at. Once the corner of the rug is lifted who knows what will be dredged up. ASADA can compel compliance relating to specific documents - for which we were previously cleared - but Dank and apparently Barret are acting like there's new documented evidence previously unsighted. If this gets started it could snowball or will at least cause an unnecessary distraction.
-
It seems you're right.
-
Good thing we haven't [censored]'d off any former players or administrators over the past four years.
-
Didn't we claim Dank wasn't on the books? It's probably illegal to mislead an ASADA enquiry. Didn't ASADA just reopen a case on Bock based on some Dank scuttlebut?
-
I don't understand the casual dismissiveness here based on no inside knowledge. I probably feel like the pessimists felt when idiots like me were predicting a twelve goal win against the Dons. Time to quietly back out of this thread for my own sanity. I wish PJ all the best. This may come to be his biggest test.

Sorry Hell's Bells. Ummm, Bernie wasn't so clumsy flattening Zeibell.
-
Viney on Gablett last year. Then Selwood. Bernie on Dangerfield? We've gone wrong for years playing about three foot from the man and letting them run past us.

I haven't been able to bring myself to open the Bombers Swiss Adventure thread and I cringe at the righteousness re. the Essendon 'drug cheats' on here. I've been dreading something like this for a while now and my MFCSS fully expected it to spring up once we were seemingly on the rise. We were up to something shifty and it strangely and quietly went away after some early stern words in the media from Vlad. Dank is a [censored] of the highest order with a huge ego and a vengeful mind who holds a lot of secrets. Barret is a [censored] of the highest order with a bullied-kid ego and a vindictive mind who is told a lot of secrets by other vindictive minds. This isn't good and there's no point sitting in the pulpits pointing out that these guys are pricks. The only advantage is that we now have friends at AFL house. If this breaks, the board should immediately announce we're taking the previous administration to court for wilful mismanagement. It could serve to alter the Ship of Theseus perceptions that underlie sporting clubs and give the AFL and media something to work with.

Assuming it's in exchange for one of the home games we're already giving up in the Top End? And it's scheduled for the week before our bye? It's a bout the same longitude as Perth so I'm not sure there's any special issue with jetlag.

Not sure what there is to lose?
-
I'd say we've been just about the most consistent team of the past decade.
-
They the second club or they the Power? It's not really clear from this quote. Edit: I have since read the article.
-
I fully comprehend this. My original comment was specifically in response to those suggesting we should hold back his debut due to the risk of injury.

Any guesses as to which fate-jinxing hyperbolic optimist on here might be publicly publishing our secret unspoken fantasies of all-time mega-Maximum supremacy?
-
Wonder if the Tiger's fans thought that before Fasolo almost single-handedly delivered the Pies only win for the season?
-
After spending an unreasonable amount of time last season calling for Dawes's resignation, I'm oddly looking forward to his return. He looks so good on paper with a stocked forward line. But not in it. Somewhere out bustling for chest marks forward of the wing.
-
I responded to a same-like Nutbean' response that I was referring to future games - if we're confident he's ready to play a full game with Casey then the AFL shouldn't be any different (in the context of potential injury only). I should have said just games instead of full games. Actually, I should have said nothing - as all broader points against are entirely valid except that they're the about as pointless as reasoning with a kid on Xmas eve.

I hope I haven't misled you in any way Hocko. Was just having a playful poke at one of the board's regular contributors. But if anyone here does have any influence within the club perhaps a brief letter on Hocko's behalf wouldn't go astray? Or maybe if someone on here was considering taking out a membership they could talk to the club about a special once-off two-for-one deal under the circumstances?

Wow. I hadn't been able to bring myself to watch it again until now. My memory of the event was completely warped with a Billy snap from about 40 out. Bizarre (and only a couple stouts in at the time). Stretch has actually done very well and shown a lot of poise in the situation. Found and led to space initially. Kept his feet in the marking contest and his eyes on the ball in the face of oncoming contact. Regathered cleanly, didn't dish off to a calling but covered team-mate (VDB?) or attempt to squeeze the initial shot, evaded with some footwork and found room again for a ping. Not bad for a tenth-gamer. Probably the only issue (apart from kicking it - and it was after the siren so it may have interrupted the execution) was initially pivoting into traffic rather than open space on his right foot and it may well be that he turned toward the caller.
-
It's time we started painting those marking bags in opposition colours.

We seem to be managing Harmes and Wagner as well. And Tyson to an extent? I'm confident Petracca can manage 65% in a pocket and the others can chip in a couple extra % on field time each. Read: I'm too excited to wait, dammit!

Beat me to it AF. Haven't been able to find the to-advantage stats anywhere but I suspected he must have been nudging the record. There almost needs to be a further division in the stats. As it is - to advantage where a tap leads directly to a possession. And then some super to-advantage where a tap leads to an uncontested chain. Big max has always shown flashes of creativity with the latter when he's had position and space. The pleasing thing is he's developing the more subtle former and mixing it up with both. We need to get him up for the duel against Grundy. He should have an absolute field day in the tap-work but we just need to be careful Grundy and the Pies' mids don't concede the tap on a shark-hunt.

On carrying Oliver and Petracca in the same team: Clayton - greatest number of effective disposals for Melb vs North in 65% ground time. Top bracket in contested and clearances. And a couple goals to boot. Hardly feels like we're carrying him. Would be pretty happy with another pinch-hitter like that. One playing predominantly forward with other options to run the wings in Garlett, BenKen and Vanders. On Petracca and injury risk: if it is still a genuine concern should he be playing full games for Casey?
