The Demon with the "Money Kick"
Fritta The Hair G.O.A.T. replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
To understand Spargo's game you need to watch those highlight packages like what The Mighty Demons does on YouTube, showing every possession through the course of a game. Watching those you realise that he just doesn't waste it with ball in hand, and there's no more important spot to do that than entering inside 50. I'll put my hand up and say I was very ambivalent about Spargs as an AFL player, he has proved me so wrong. Well done lad -
MFC Rebranding for Indigenous Round
Fritta The Hair G.O.A.T. replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Watching that put the biggest smile on my face. Club absolutely kicking goals off-field recently, and this shows what the addition of an indigenous liaison officer at each club can do. Narrm the Dees!!! -
POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs West Coast
Fritta The Hair G.O.A.T. replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Some Dees fans need to take a step back and have a look at the bigger picture, bigger picture being: - 9-0 - 16 wins on the trot - 1st on ladder - 1st on percentage - Reigning premiers - Arguably the greatest defensive team of the AFL era So we only won by 74 points against a ravaged West Coast? Sure, the 2nd/3rd quarters were boring but the team is made up of humans, not football robots. We won by 12 goals and kept them to 5, not much more you can realistically ask for. Enjoy the ride, it's the most exciting time to be a Dees fan since the introduction of TV in Australia. Go Narrm -

He is a high-character kid, and I think he genuinely values his friendship/partnership with Gawny and as long as Gawny is at the club, Dogga will be there too. Hopefully by the time Max retires, Jacko will be fully entrenched in MFC culture and Melbourne city living - I don't think he's going anywhere, for years at least.

Round 1 Vs Dogs at Whitten Oval
Fritta The Hair G.O.A.T. replied to DubDee's topic in AFL National Women's League
Alyssa Bannan impressed me with her athleticism. If she can get her hands on the ball more I reckon she can have a real impact, using her strength and leg speed to drive out of the contest in the same way Clarry does. Overall a very impressive hit out, if we can improve our forward connection we should dominate games (where have I heard this before?). Also Zanker is a bloody gun, a damaging mid who is also one of the tallest on the ground! -
I heard his mum has been pretty crook, which would explain the "family matters" reason. If that is indeed the reason then I hope he takes all the time he needs. As we saw with Jesse Hogan losing a parent can have a big effect on a young man, even more so when you're already grappling with mental issues. Wish him and his family all the best.

What they're saying about Max elsewhere

Maybe that's why Stanley left Gawn alone to mark and kick the match-winning goal in r23 😛 -

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Fritta The Hair G.O.A.T. replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep, I felt as though this season our home strip + navy shorts looked better than it ever had before, not sure why I noticed it so much.... maybe it is just a big swell of pride for our incredible team -
Game plans, tactics and all that jazz
Fritta The Hair G.O.A.T. replied to binman's topic in Melbourne Demons
To my eye a big difference is that BB is more top-heavy, and during physical contests, if he gets knocked off balance he won't make much of an effort to correct himself, and will tend to fall more dramatically than someone who is trying their best to stay on their feet. He did it at North a lot which [censored] me off considering how physically imposing he is, he still does it but for some reason I have more of a tolerance for it now 😜 -

CHANGES 2021 by The Oracle
Fritta The Hair G.O.A.T. replied to Demonland's topic in Special Features
The list looks in great shape for next year. The primary concern will surely be that our injury luck will have to run out, but I think our system and culture is strong enough that we can adopt the same mentality of the Tigers in recent years where if one soldier goes down, the players know the system well enough that the next guy can come in and fill a role from the get-go. Regular season could be a good chance to give some guys like Laurie, Weid, Chandler, JVR, Bedford a run to see where they're at and explore our depth a bit. Great position to be in. -
2021 Player Reviews: #2 Nathan Jones
Fritta The Hair G.O.A.T. replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was watching an interview with Gawny and Trac yesterday where Gawny said Goody was going to dedicate a bunch of his acceptance speech to Jonesy, but never got the chance. Bloody Basil! -

Correct. Many fingerprints are on this year's cup, and we should celebrate the contribution of all who played a part (Except maybe Mark Neeld and Cameron Schwab). -

I'd give Tommy Sparrow the opportunity to move up to no.2, he seems like a worthy man to continue the Chunk legacy -
Ideally they should change the sponsorship from the Jaguar brand to the broader JLR company to align with the lucrative Range Rover clientele. Have also seen a lot of new-gen Defenders milling about in Brighton recently, seems like it would be a good fit, especially with new RR launching next year!

Fritta The Hair G.O.A.T. replied to Rod Grinter Riot Squad's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm trying to figure out what the F that thing is.... looks kinda like a Eunos 500 but with Merc wheels and a Mustang badge on the rear 3/4.... what a dog's breakfast! But they get a pass for repping the Dees haha -
Been mentioned a lot already but Clarry's goal might be the single most hype moment in MFC history. The last of 3 goals within the last minute of the 3rd. The visual of watching Jackson, Viney and Clarry stream towards goal unimpeded like a red and blue tidal wave. The pinpoint handball from the future of the club, to the present. The full-speed shot on goal that sails directly over the goal umpire's hat. The slow-mo point from Clarry and the elation of Dogga and Sparrow trying to catch him - what an iconic piece of vision. The burial of 57 years of history, and probably the apex of one of the most dominant periods in any football game. And the cherry on top, the shot of Treloar and English in the centre square looking like they've been slapped across the face with a dead fish, unable to comprehend what the F is happening. What an incredible moment from an incredible game.
