  1. Also former WWE wrestler Chris Benoit. Killed his wife and children in a murder-suicide. Post mortem scans of his brain showed it resembled an old man with dementia from repeated concussions. Horrible stuff
  2. I think in his post-game interview Goody said he sent May to Dusty in the second half after he got a hold of McVee a bit. Maybe that's why he ended further up the ground?
  3. El Jefe! The way he moves reminds me a lot of Wattsy, very relaxed and easy the way he glides across the ground. Hopefully with a strong club culture and development program he can become the forward we all hoped Wattsy would be
  4. One day the Bud will join us, and the forwards will live as one.....?
  5. I also remember Burgess saying Goody was the no.1 reason that he took the Dees job and he'd still be here if it weren't for his extenuating circumstances (COVID and family in Adelaide)
  6. I have the inside word that Cox took umbrage with Trac's TikToks - namely calling cilantro 'coriander' and referring to bell peppers as 'capsicum'. And the restraint shown by Big Mase for not even bringing up the complete lack of ribs, brisket or mac & cheese recipes speaks volumes of his character. I assume an official joint apology from the club and on.trac5 is imminent.
  7. Not so much a direct question, but I thought in last week's game we looked the most "Melbourne" we have in a long time. That classic defence and contested ball formula was back; the team set up a fantastic defensive zone forcing long contests down the line, our interceptors did their job and overall the team looked confident and poised (back of centre at least). Do you think after experimenting with a more high-octane game plan in the first half of the year, Goody and co. are maybe reverting back to the formula that has given us success in the past? And do you think the first half of the year the coaching staff have refused to show their hand which we're maybe starting to see now? I thought apart from some terrible goal kicking and i50s we actually looked really good on Friday, and I feel more positive about that game than some others here. Maybe it was due to the poor quality of the opposition, but keen to hear your thoughts on it anyway!
  8. Probably the right call. Love Salem but he will be super under-done if he tries to play a game in the 1s this weekend, best to get some game time into the legs at Casey.
  9. The cheer squad/DA should re-name themselves to the Narrmy Army for Indigenous round
  10. I think it works in our favour that this game is at 4:30 and not at night, it will be less slippery and dewy which we struggle with. Having said that, I haven't checked the weather forecast and for all I know it could be pounding down with rain
  11. May is known as the general and leader of the Melbourne backline, but I'd be keen to know what he does as a leader off the field. What young players does he gravitate towards and put his arm around? Does he have a "protege" at the club? What does he do in terms of off-field leadership as the defensive captain and senior Indigenous player?
  12. I joined my work tipping comp, first time I've done tipping in about 15 years. Currently on 14 after 4 rounds (3,3,4,4), ranked last in my comp and ranked 779,000 out of 793,000 on ESPN. Absolutely pitiful!
  13. Definitely the most depleted team WC have trotted out since at least...... 2022
  14. I wish we still had Lil' Beddy around to cover for Kozzy ☹️
  15. Darcy is genuinely carrying a spare tyre around his waist, Gawn will absolutely run him ragged. Jackson looks to have put on a bit more muscle but also looks more doughy than before. I'd be a bit concerned if I were a Freo fan.
  16. I think Kozzy will re-sign after the start of the season, maybe around Round 8 or so. He plays a low-possession role in the team but stands to better show off his wares and versatility this year by getting time through the midfield. I think his manager will have told him to wait until the season is underway - a few higher-possession, higher-impact games as a part-time mid would likely drive his price up more and would really be the pertinent thing to do from his end. The Jackson saga and MFCSS will have soured a lot of people when it comes to unsigned, talented players, but I'm confident Koz will be a Dee for at least the next few years of his career.
  17. Why does it look like the footage is sped up when he speaks, but it's all in sync...? Weird, maybe it's just me
  18. I know people incorrectly predict Geelong's downfall every year, but I wonder if having finally climbed the mountain will take the fire out of the bellies of their good 30+y.o. players. They don't have that "one last flag" to play for this year, plus a short preseason. Who knows
  19. That's a pretty weird thing to say given Bucks was his head coach when Grundy signed a 7-year deal on $1m per year.....
  20. Feels a bit "if it ain't broke..." to me - Kozzy has kicked 40 goals for 2 straight seasons and is as dynamic as anyone in the comp around goal. Would prefer to see him stay forward TBH
  21. My pick would probably be Riv. Started re-finding form in the back half of the season after getting injured and had a great first couple of years. He has a bit of 'peacock' factor (confidence) and all the physical tools to take his game to the next level. Could even find himself playing more on the ball if he plays his cards right. My other one would be Chandler to "break out" by getting regular games.
