  1. He can decide where his desks come from in September, because we are only going to offer 6 and a quarter desks no matter what. With that in mind - we can plan how we give out our desks now.
  2. The boldness of a Trengove captaincy is another reason why I don't think it will happen... Brave decision but one that can come about if my U/24 Leadership Group Plan is put in place...
  3. OK. But can he get some help, possibly share it? I don't like shared captaincy but it may be the way to go. Grimes/Trengove? Frawley/Trengove? Frawley/Grimes/Trengove? I don't like it but I am uncomfortable burdening a 20 year old, albeit a very impressive 20 year old...
  4. But firing the CEO isn't? Their form has been very similar... Although one of them isn't on the verge of doing a massive sponsorship deal...
  5. WTF? e25 can be easily criticised for tone and twaddle, but not on this thread. Others sidetracked the thread and we went with it.
  6. Nice one.
  7. I really like it... Each to their own.
  8. Riot? If he goes, it will be a terrible decision and push back our window (and diminish it) but I doubt we will 'riot.' Strong words will be said no doubt. I assume there will also be some strong words if he stays too - those that think he held the club for 'ransom,' some will denounce his large price, and some will be annoyed he 'strung' the club along for no reason in a tough year. I don't believe he has signed with anyone yet so my reaction will be formed when the decision is made.
  9. You mean Sean Wellman? Wallis went from Freo to Ess. You seem rather certain of a Premiership coach you don't know the name of... Funny...
  10. How does he line his own pockets? And how did he treat these players? We cannot create pressure for change if we don't know the facts.
  11. It was $2.1m over three years and Laurie is a stubborn bastard who can stand his ground on an issue like that if he wants to but the club also is a business that is allowed to stand its ground. We wanted the emblem - it's our jumper and we got it. The Hankook logo is one of the easiest to see on any jumper and for $700k a year Laurie got extraordinary value for money over the three years. He should be very happy with his lot - he isn't, and that is his right. But I am not going to sit here and let Schwab get crucified because of a fight with Laurie. He's got bigger problems than Laurie...
  12. You have to celebrate the small wins. Even if they are par for the course for strong clubs who always keep the players they want to keep. I coined the MFCSS term for a similar reason (low bar of expectation, celebrating mediocrity, fearing the worst, etc), but there is nothing wrong with celebrating the re-signing of a 19 year old gun. They are rather desired, and difficult to re-sign...
  13. It's been a trying week, just let them have this...
  14. If it makes you feel better I believe that the 'crisis' at the club was precipitated by Schwab and Co. having a similar opinion of our senior players to you...
  15. Doubt it. Rules changed.
  16. Yes I thought that too, but it might just be an inference based on recent events. Maybe Williams has been 'freed up' too...
  17. Yes he kicked 12 goals more than Tom. And yes, he won the AFLPA first year player award. I don't really see that as definitive. Tom tackles more than Murphy did, his courage is faultless, his hardness unquestionable. Tom Scully will be a very good footy player.
  18. I agree that this is an innocent racial grouping but say your piece and move on. You'd think that Davey, Bennell, Jetta, Jurrah, and Wonaeamirri were the reasons for our awful efforts this season...
  19. Because Murphy did little more than Scully in his first two years. The post you replied to agreed with this sentiment. You replied by mentioning how much Murphy had done in his first two years. Didn't follow.
  20. I'm not if the two new ones bring in more money... Love Lawrie and the story behind Kaspersky is great but when it comes down to it - it's a business decision and if we can get better value somewhere else... Hasta luego, por favor.
  21. Mil extra. But much of that is to spend on the 10 extra kids they have on their list. And before you say 'pfft' - those kids will be on around $70k and so that is $700k...
  22. Yes, I would be very surprised if, when Garry finishes up his consultancy, we do not have someone similar on the board as Football Director.
  23. I think we are suffering from a lack of definition over roles. Starting from the top down: Board (w/President and VP and Football Director - which was Leoncelli up until 2011) Football Department (w/ General Mananger, List Manager, Coach, Ass. Coaches, etc.) Two seperate 'silos' if you will (or they should be), with the Football Director the proxy FOR the board to gather appropriate information for the board to judge those who make decisions. I believe the OP is talking about what Parkin did at Hawthorn for a couple years as a senior overseer of a younger coach in the FD. It was a massive failure FYI.
  24. Guys get dropped.
  25. I'm sorry. Continue. Cracker.
