Mark Stevens is attempting a joke. Ward's mum isn't media manager of GWS. -
I hope he conitinues his progress because I rate him as as high as any prospect we have (to steal a baseball term). Aside from Trengove... Love the run and boldness, and his kicking and tackling is good. But the runnning is Forest Gump like...

At least the AFL has seen it as an inducement and forced them to put in under the salary cap... Hopefully, in a few years time they need a couple hundred thousand to keep someone - they can't, because a 'recruiter' is taking that cash... -

Very curious. And we are helping Clark's missus build a career, we are not giving her one... -
I thought I read somewhere that no games that have been fixtured would be on FTA. No word on the GF though.

Clark is a power forward and is paid accordingly. To see him in the ruck would be a nervous shame for me as a supporter. And if you say Martin was sqeezed out of the backline, how is it so easy to squeeze him back in? Martin will play down there from time to time, but as I said - he is a far better back-up ruck than he was a defender and he should maintain that position.
-
What 'Clark' issue? He's a forward. A power forward if you want to agree with Neeld's bball/footy jargon. Martin is a back-up ruck. I highly doubt that we will suddenly pull him out of the ruck to play on Cloke a couple of times a year, unless you are saying he should be groomed for a significant role in the backline? Because if he is a part-timer in the backline - why would we trust him to beat Cloke but no-one else? Frawley, Garland, and Rivers (with McDonald as back-up) will attempt to deal with all scenarios and if it is required that Martin spend some time down there, I doubt it will be anything more than as a loose ruck the way Daniher used to waste..er..play White. He is a massive find in the ruck and I would have him own that position again this year and cement his position in the team and the AFL.

I would be very surprised if we have any cap space in 2017.
-
Whether we win, lose or draw the games in Qld - we will play Coll and Haw.

This thread is in Forum Help so few will see it, I would just add to the 'draw' thread on the main board. And IIRC, you might of had an issue with 'replying' to another post - if you just click the quote button next to the post you wish to reply to it works well. I'm being sincere here, we are in Forum Help after all...

Thanks Rupert. I serverely hope it isn't, even if all the signs are pointing toward that evil end.

Live on Fox. And there will not be a fourth game... Just tempering the excitement.

We get pushed off the ball in the middle. Moloney is a big body, Sylvia is rarely in there, and Jones I don't see as a big body. Both Jordies get thrown aound a bit by bigger mids.
-
No it isn't but if we were to draft a Manson or a carbon-copy of Colin Sylvia we would need 'extra management' to properly handle either property.

I'm with BB. Pick the talent, work out how to deal with the owner of the talent later. Unless they are a nutcase... Yes, I am looking at you Lawrence Angwin... Because you stole things.
-
I don't know about North, but I can think of one other reason we play GWS twice...

Yoda wouldn't say these things, can he just get his 'Range Rover' moniker back? Mods?

So you have walked back on half a year you previously claimed was disappointing, a half that is now 'ripping' but I am still wrong and somehow 'too easily impressed' after pointing out you misjudged his 2010? Sometimes you should just accept the mea culpa and leave it at that, RR...

Really good thoughts as usual, Bhima. Right there with you on getting Grimes and Morton into the thick of it. And Watts and Jurrah on the wing. I think that they will find themselves all over the ground - moreso with Watts. And a traditional winger did go end-to-end. Howe will find himself iin the middle, no doubt. But I think it will be as a target rather than as another runner. But I agree he could be a shot at it. What I would like to see is some more muscle on Morton (yeah, I know) and Gysberts and for them to be persevered with in the middle. I would also give Bate, if his pre-season form is good enough, the first 6 weeks of the season as a midfielder to see whether he can cut it there. He was obviously not a favourite of the previous match committee but is obviously desired by the new FD judging by the ludicrous demands we had on him at trade week. I wanted to get a bigger body for our midfield during trade week but we didn't so Bate should be given a chance - we get pushed off the ball too easily. Bate's junior years were in the midfield and I know his glacial speed is a worry, but the way the game is today - the only place for him is in the midfield and out of the forward line where defensive pressure is paramount.

Hardly, if Davey averages 19 touches, 4 tackles, finishes 4th in the Bluey and gets 10 Brownlow votes next year - as he did in 2010 - we will all be lauding his renaissance.
-
Only last season.

You seem to have trouble dealing with criticism of your opinion. You don't think Colin should be made the excuse of our troubles, and in the same post you gave plenty of excuses for Colin's troubles. As for whether he is good enough - maybe he isn't. He certainly is living up to that...
-
Highly ironic statement to end your post on - you have give Colin plenty of excuses - Daniher, Bailey, injury, the MFC's general crapness, he isn't as good as we think, etc
-
Is it now? Because Jack would tell you that he is at the club until the end of 2013... And Jack has shown enough in his short injury plagued career to suggest he is best 22 in a very good side. Whether his body will betray his talent is a different question...
