  1. Not the first time he's been in trouble. Caulfield Cup one year he was arrested for being [censored].
  2. 3 or 4 wins is a realistic expectation. We're by far the worst side in the comp. Just hope we don't see any 80+ smashings.
  3. Well we are hiding him in the bush. Casey is in the bush right
  4. If anyone deserves to play 22 games this year, it's Moloney. He loves the club - you only have to see the vision of him belting out the club song last week, in a meaningless practice match!
  5. Juice Newton 3 goals and listed as our best according to afl.com. Lazy journalism or was he really our best
  6. On paper it's impotent. Miller - Leading goal kicker of 2008 with about 28 Bate - Kicks 1 bag per year Newton - Barely kicks a goal a game Davey - Plays more up the ground Aussie - Good for 2 a game Sylvia - Inconsistent Robbo - Injured The loss of Neitz and Robbo was surely one of the reasons we won only 3 games last year. Bruce is a proven goal kicker and could be utilised more up forward.
  7. Did I mention he kicked 34 goals in 2004. 8 goals more than our leading goal kicker last year.
  8. Just been thinking about how impotent our forward line is at the moment. Infact this week we only have Newton, Bate and Zomer as viable targets and that reeks of another 8 goal performance V's Brisbane. Why not trial Bruce up there for 75% game time in the next couple of games. He's capable of kicking 35 goals a year as a part time forward (see 2004), good overhead and a reasonable shot for goal. Idea worth considering or are we robbing Peter to pay Paul?
  9. The glowing reports about our defence are putting a smile on my face. Growing up as a Melbourne supporter in the 90's, defence was never our strength. On a side note, what's the deal with kicking 3 or 4 quick goals in a row and then not troubling the scoreboard for an hour. Would've liked a win yesterday. I know it's only a praccy match, but....
  10. He'll probably get 4 weeks the way footys going
  11. 16th 4-18 75% Wins: Adelaide - round 5 West Coast - round 14 Port Adelaide - round 15 Fremantle - round 20
  12. I really like Bailey..... but he's 3-24 at this stage.
  13. He was terrible according to some around here ??
  14. Who's bone head move was it to re-sign him for 2 years last year?
  15. I think we're at Princes Park next Saturday. Wow how did we lose that Didn't we have 8 weeks more preseason than them.
  16. If the club is playing to win, then we play the best squad: B) Whelan Warnock Frawley HB) Petterd Garland Bell C) Davey McLean Morton HF) Sylvia Miller Bate F) AUssie Newton Green Foll) Johnson Bruce Jones Int) Dunn Grimes Bartram McDonald Bail Valenti Spencer Emerg - Meeson, Cheney, Zomer, Martin
  17. Thanks for all the updates Jack! A likely NAB Cup '24' V Hawks after yesterday's developments: B Whelan Warnock Martin HB Petterd Garland Green C Bail Bruce Morton HF Davey Miller Bate F Sylvia Newton Woneamirri FOLL Johnson Dunn Jones INT Frawley Valenti Spencer Grimes Buckley Jetta Rested - McLean, Moloney, Watts, Blease Injured - Rivers, Jamar, Wheatley, Maric, Robertson, McNamara Unlucky - Zomer, Cheney, Bell EDIT - Can we play 24 or 26??
  18. Jack Watts Cale Morton Rohan Bail James Strauss Aussie Woneamirri Colin Sylvia Brent Moloney Jamie Bennel from a demon in Seattle! Thanks in advance!!!
  19. Yeah stunned Aussie didn't get a gig considering he's become a crowd favourite and training the house down.
  20. Played an intra club game last night and his kicking was disgraceful according to a couple of Eagle scribes.
  21. Chris Yarran. Although I'm secretly hoping he becomes a flop due to the club that recruited him.
  22. If their veterans hold up, they'll be around the 5-8 mark.
  23. I don't care if we lose as long as we're competitive If I were coach these would be my squads: Junior's Red team: B: Whelan Warnock McNamara HB Bartram Rivers Petterd C Buckley McLean Wheatley HF Jurrah Miller Hughes F Maric Newton Woneamirri Foll P Johnson McDonald Valenti INT Cheney McKenzie Blease Meeson Bruce's Blue team B Bell Martin Garland HB Grimes Frawley Green C Bail Bruce Moloney HF Morton Bate Davey F Sylvia Watts Jetta FOLL Jamar Dunn Jones Int Strauss Healey Bennell Zomer Robbo injured. Who'd win??
  24. He also kicked 3 goals in a NAB Cup game V Geelong last year including a lovely 9 pointer. I see Garland as a defender who can sometimes been switched to the forward line in a tight last qtr and kick a couple of goals. I'm hoping he turns into a Nathan Bock. As for YM, I don't believe for a second that he thinks Bruce isn't in our best 22. He's taking the [censored]. Bruce is Melbourne's best and most consistent player - right at the moment. whether we like it or not.
  25. I actually think $3.40 is too small to beat North. I'd have us $5.00 as we are absolutley pathetic every time we play North. Plus North are apparantly having their 'best pre-season ever' and will be hungry to atone for their capitulation at the end of the year. $17.00 for Freo winning the spoon is tasty, but I think they'll win enough home games to avoid the spoon.
