  1. Agree with the OP. Talk of finals for 2011 are too premature. Given our list right now I see us as a 10th-13th side. The crappy standard on display at the intra club game last week didn't fuel my optimism.
  2. Game is at AAMI Stadium so I'm expecting a 6 goal loss in both games. Still can't work out why we're so pathetic over there?
  3. I only saw blease in the first half and only had a couple of kicks. Strauss's kicking is a feature and he had a decent game- he was wearing no 7 in the second half right?
  4. Watts kicked 2 nice set shot goals in the 3rd qtr and missed another. Dunn kicked another and should be a lock in the fwd line this year. Scully came into it that qtr. Rivers has been dominant down back.
  5. Very sloppy first half! Sylvia bog as usual. Bate, Dunn and rookie Evans have goals.
  6. I'd save the trip for a home and away game. This one is largely meaningless.
  7. That one got me confused. How can a team that finished higher than us last year and has beaten us the last 8 times be so much less fancied to make the 8.
  8. Any takers?
  9. I wouldn't mind him at Melbourne. Good insurance for the club should a couple of Jurrah, Petterd, Dunn, Green, Watts etc...go down. At worst he plays out the season at Casey.
  10. My only concern about Trengove is how good Dustin Martin looks right at the moment.
  11. Get Jones out of there. I'd probably have 12 ahead of him. The six I'd have would be Green, Davey, Sylvia, Jurrah, Scully and Frawley. Grimes just misses out as he's too injury prone.
  12. Didn't one of his threads feature in the Herald Sun? I think he was bagging us for our win against the Dogs in 2007 which cost us a priority pick.
  13. Was at this game and was a bloody freezing day. Another Jakovich special! I think he kicked 8 goals the week before against St Kilda. Wouldn't have been too many times that we beat Carlton at Princes Park in the 80's and early 90's??
  14. Agree. If we have a year like we did last year, we'll give the 8 a shake. Only Petterd, Grimes and Jurrah missed chunks of games and they were at different times of the year.
  15. If Cam Bruce doesn't re-sign we don't play finals next year. We still need some older heads in the side to help win us critical games in August.
  16. 8th - 11th.
  17. Newton must be nearing MFC life membership.
  18. The 2011 AFL fixture is due out on Friday 29 October. According to 5AA as reported on bigfooty we have a round 1 interstate trip against Adelaide at AAMI (so lets hope it's a load of crap)! Although it would suck playing at AAMI and we are facing another near certain 0-1 start, we haven't travelled in round 1 since 1998 so we can't complain.
  19. For a number 4 draft pick, Cale Morton is pretty low on everybody's list.
  20. Adds nil value to us going forward. Has failed as a forward. Has failed as a second ruckman. To think he's only 3 years away from being a life member of the MFC (10 years gets you there right?)
  21. Amazing that you could get him on the cheap these days. One of the most talented players in the AFL. I'd take him for a late draft pick. Only prob is the guy has too many issues to be an AFL footballer anymore.
  22. Happy days of Paul Johnson and Jake Spencer...yippeee.
  23. This is why we should pay a little over the odds for Hale. Not interested in PJ for another year. But he'll be back if we can't land Hale.
  24. I would be happy to drop 5 spots in the first round of the draft just so we don't have to see PJ 'attempt' to be a league footballer one more time. I actually thought the Dees would've gone harder at Hale as he could provide important back up for Jamar and can kick goals unlike Johnson. Remember it's unlikely we're going to get 22 games out of Jamar next year due to his injury prone history. He'll be handy for the Hawks.
