  1. Firstly, good luck to all players selected to represent the Melbourne Football Club on AFL's biggest stage, it is such an honour. I am certain the preparation has been thorough and consistent with the season to date. The forecast of 27 degrees and light breezes, provides a wonderful basis for both teams to showcase their talents, I certainly hope this will be the case. I am confident that the Melbourne team structure and roles, will enable us to have the edge when the final siren sounds. I believe there will be times throughout the game, when both sides will dominate, however it will be our superior desire to win, together with fitness that will see us holding the premiership cup aloft. Every player needs to play their part, and the old saying, that you are only as strong as your weakest link, will never be truer on Saturday. Thank you to all players, coaching staff and support staff for making this season memorable. Now is your opportunity to make it unforgettable!! Go Dees!!!!!!
  2. Presuming all fit, the only change would be Smith for Hibberd. If McDonald is still experiencing back issues, then Melksham comes in. It is forecast to be showery, so a smaller forward to replace McDonald would be wise. Jordon remains the medical sub.
  3. One of the historical keys to winning premierships is stability, particularly in defence. However May is a no brainer to be included at the expense of Smith, who by the way did his chances for inclusion at a later date no harm whatsoever. The rest stay as they are. Viney comes in at the expense of Sparrow. McDonald for Melksham. Jordon replaces Van DenBerg as medical sub. Harmes gets a lockdown role on Guthrie, while Viney goes head to head with Selwood and Petracca head to head with Dangerfield. Gawn and Jackson will be critical to our success, first use to our mids will place enormous pressure on a depleted Geelong defence. It maybe not so obvious at the skinny GMHBA Stadium this week but will be evident in Perth during finals. Bring it on!!!!
  4. OUT MELKSHAM, HARMES, WEIDEMAN IN LANGDON, VINEY, B. BROWN A really good fit for Collingwood, that's my take on Weideman. His hands are poor and his kicking skills at goal are very poor. Season 2021 so far, 4 matches, 3 goals 4 behinds, says it all. There is no lockdown role for Harmes this week, so for team balance he goes for Viney. Melksham is simply omitted due to his lack of defensive acts. Sparrow stays due to his work ethic and upside.
