  1. Ugh I just saw McGowan on the news saying they’re having the grand final “on their terms.” Idk if it’s just his usual mannerism but ffs a little sensitivity wouldn’t go astray. You can almost hear the sound of thousands of hearts breaking and he’s carrying on like we should be kissing his ar*e.

It’s sad it won’t be here, but this is the news most of us knew was coming

It’s like so many times in life when you know 100% something dreadful is gonna happen. When it eventually does happen it still hurts.
Idk about others here, but until an hour ago I still harboured a little bit of hope. Oh well. I sincerely hope that should we make it to the big one our interstate diehards cheer loud and proud on our behalf. ❤️💙

  3. I’m defs getting a tattoo. Not necessarily a premiership one though, but defs a Dees tatt. I would’ve already had it done except for lockdown putting the kibosh on it.
I got a tattoo last year, not a Dees one but coincidentally it has a black outline with a little bit of red and blue, same shades as ours. The black is fine but the red and blue have faded and badly need redoing. So, when Covid permits, ima go to get that done and I’ll say, “while you’ve got the red and blue ink out…” 😁

I think the footpath example is all the evidence we need, Toby Greene does not have respect for anyone else and he certainly did not show any to the umpire.

The footpath question was clever. Had he answered “yes, I would apologise” that begs the question: then if it was unintended why didn’t you apologise? Had he answered “no, I wouldn’t apologise” that paints him as a person who has zero regard for others. So, TG answered exactly how Gleeson would’ve wanted, ie, ambiguity that betrays his real feelings. Gleeson is a very clever man.

  5. I think with advancements in dentistry, these days mouth guards are almost optional. A few years back during a marking contest Buddy Franklin’s front tooth came flying out of his mouth. It was no biggie. He just picked it up and kept on playing. It was as casual as if an earring had fallen out.

Spot on. I just think it is a great sign for the future.

It’s one gesture, but it speaks volumes about her character. And that’s a reflection of the culture of our club. I feel sorry for supporters of other clubs who aren’t in a position to be proud of their club’s admin. as we are. (I don’t really feel sorry for them. 😏)

Even in the country leagues the players call the ref "sir" when approaching them. And there is almost zero abuse such as we saw from Mitch Robinson as it results in penalties.

I know some will think I've become all soft and woke but it's something I really would like to see creep into AFL football at all levels.

Is this true? Is it something that used to happen, or currently is happening?

PS: I personally like the “soft and woke” version of Faulty. 🙂

I'm not putting up any red and blue decor inside or outside until I know we are in the GF.

MFCSS or superstition?  Either way, don't want to jinx us.

I went nuts on amassing streamers and flags etc. in the weeks leading up to the 2018 prelim. (Still had some from 2000!) The huge box remains untouched since then. I’m so tempted to adorn the outside of my house nowish but don’t wanna tempt fate. 😬

Stevic should have gotten out of the way and reported Greene on the spot? AFL spin-machine at its best. Greene initiated the contact, he was clearly annoyed at something and went straight for Stevic. Victim blaming at its best.

Further, @TRIGON, why no face palm for this? I consciously tempered my comment by saying “akin to victim blaming” when in fact Ethan’s wording (above) is exactly how I feel. I’ve disappointed myself by compromising my principles just to not be jumped on. So, if for no reason other than for me to understand why my comment was a problem, it’d be great if you could explain why your reaction, or lack thereof, varied.
And if you think I’m putting too fine a point on it, there’s a valid reason. Since it’s a personal reason I won’t elaborate but am happy to explain in a PM if need be.

    Yes. Down the race

Absolutely abhorrent behaviour. I don’t care about the whys and wherefores, under no circumstance should “fans” spew forth their filthy bile to our boys like that. Makes me blood boil.

The cost and inconvenience of doing that has ruled me out. How much did the hotel cost you for the quarantine period?

I had to quarantine in a hotel last year. All up $3600 for the fortnight. I did it in Adelaide but I’m guessing the cost wouldn’t vary much.

Ever noticed how the commentators always call Easton Wood by both his names, never just "Wood"?

It's as if there's a player out there called "Easternwood".

I’ve noticed this! And they don’t emphasise the syllables correctly. So annoying. Similar to Farren Ray when he was running around. I don’t think I ever heard him called “Ray.”
