  1. It may not affect list management, but don’t believe for a second that it’s not being read by anyone other than us. Coz it is. Just sayin’
  2. That would’ve been the game. You’re right: the fact that we were well in front meant it wasn’t a big deal. It’d be interesting to see this happen in a game won or lost by less than a goal.
  3. Not the same thing, but hair-related: a few weeks ago, I can’t remember who we were playing nor who for us had kicked a goal but a score review was called, the question being if the ball was touched. The goal wasn’t paid because the ball had grazed JvR’s hair, not his head, but his hair before going through for a goal. I thought that was a strange decision, but I guess one’s hair is part of one’s body. 🤷‍♀️
  4. I don’t!!! He looked me in the eye (I was standing on a box) and swore black n blue (and red n blue) that he would NOT shave his damn head! Nek minnit… bald as a badger’s bum. He promised he’d wear a freaking headband. When I next see him his pelvis will be the least of his concerns. 😡
  5. Awesome to have you back, Luci! Hope you enjoyed the break. While @Queanbeyan Demon did a fantastic job with “What They Are Saying At…” it’s always great to have you around. 💖
  6. I actually don’t remember it, not vividly anyways. But there’s always pics and vids being taking in and of the cheer squad and according to those I was momentarily catatonic. What I do remember is waking the next morning covered in bruises. Lots of bruises: mainly on my legs but a worrying number of bruises on my upper arms and rib-cage! Those hard plastic seats at the ‘G are unforgiving when a bunch of ordinarily psychotic people kick it up a notch. I shudder to think of the injuries inflicted should we ever win a premiership in a nail-biter. 😬 But it’d be worth EVERY. SINGLE. BRUISE. I could be six months in hospital in a full body-cast and it’d still be worth it.
  7. Heard of them… don’t like them. Each to their own, right? 😁 Anyways, funniest thing about that match vs Carlton was them chipping the ball around, running the clock down coz for all the world they’d beaten us. 🤣
  8. Killer memory, Layz! Or do I bang on about them too much and too often? 😆
  9. I’m loath to mention that lest I be berated for derailing the thread. But since you asked nicely, an Icelandic band called Sigur Rós. The best band ever there was since the dawning of mankind and even a couple of aeons before that. 😁
  10. Will never forget the final couple of minutes of this match. It’s right up there with Tmac’s winning goal vs WCE 2017 and Maxy’s winner after the siren, Round 23 2021. I had bought concert tickets for this night months before and because of the stupid floating fixture didn’t realise there was a clash. I agonised over what to attend: my beloved Dees live at the ‘G in front of a big crowd or my all-time fave band (whom I’ve seen live several times but this tour was after a 13-year break). I was still undecided 24 hours beforehand. I finally decided to go to the match. With a minute and 40 to go, with us needing two goals to win, my DA BFF leaned in and said, “do you regret blowing off the concert?” I was already crying but told her that no, I’m not regretting it. Truth is, it was shaping up to be the biggest regret in my entire life, (dramatic much?). We all know what happened next. ❤️💙
  11. Maybe stop drinking and cooking at the same time.
  12. Paddy’s last concussion was in Round 4 (who can forget that disturbing footage of him being helped to the bench) and seven weeks later he’s still showing symptoms of that concussion. For that reason alone, if he was my son he’d never set foot on a field again. Yes, he’s a grown man, but one never stops being a mother. And you know how the saying goes… “mother knows best.” 😉
  13. What’s logical to one person might be illogical to another. Perception being reality, who’s to say which of these two people are right?
  14. Logic is subjective, therefore it can be flawed.
  15. All good Gawndy. It’s just that I cringe every time I see a new thread that’s (intentionally or otherwise) an invitation for all the doom and gloom mongers to let loose. I’m sure this wasn’t the purpose for this thread but here we are: it’s already happening.
  16. Whatever happened to taking it one week at a time? Besides, there’s hardly a need for another doomsday predictions thread. There’s a bunch of them already.
  17. Therefore a “the run home” thread after any round would make sense? March 17th this year: “How d’you think we’ll go against Hawthorn in Round 23?” “Geez, not sure since it’s FIVE FREAKING MONTHS AWAY!”
  18. Beside the point but “the run home”… isn’t that what you’d call the last four or five H&A games? Even the last six or seven. But after only 10 rounds? There’s still 14 rounds to go! That’s a lot of speculation about matches scheduled to take place months in the future.
  19. I’m probs going straight to hell for saying this but since Cerra playing or not playing this week won’t affect whether we win or lose, a part of me hopes he gets off purely to see the mega melts on here.
  20. I’d tell you, BDA. But then I’d have to kill you, and you seem like a nice person. You’re a fellow Irishman, so killing you is defs not an option.
  21. Good? He kicked the penultimate goal then fed the ball out to Kozzie who kicked the winner. Yeah, he was good.
  22. … then why come on here complaining about not being able to just rock up on the day? You seem to be complaining for complaining’s sake. Again.
