Think this thread has divulged into a bit of "pick obsession" and Dodoro style lets be a pain in the backside stuff... you get a chance at 60+ goal kicking forward at 27-28 years of age by using a combination of some 2nd/3rd round picks, you just get the deal done. Would we rather trade in Brown for pick 80? Sure. But it won't be that and it shouldn't be that, fair business is good business, so let's just get it done.

Might I add in addition to how this helps Weid... Imagine the freedom a player like Brown will create for Fritsch. Very exciting.

Nothing makes me laugh more than people acting like holding onto a literal legend of the club who was our captain for one extra year is such a bad thing... Imagine the horror of keeping a literal legend of the club (who has proven himself as an amazing person on and off the field for near 300 games, and at the very least is excellent and proven depth in a good side), over getting some random dime a dozen shot at a random young guy like the Wagners, Smith, Dunkley, Chandler etc that we can definitely just shoot for the year after. Well done to the MFC on doing the right thing for a literal legend of the club and in all honesty the right thing for the list as a mentor and good depth player for probably very little money. Kudos. A LEGEND OF THIS CLUB REWARDED.

Ben Brown has kicked 60+ goals three times. Even if diminishing, I would take half that for pick 23 and it isn’t even a discussion. Sometimes it seems there is some overthinking from fans and clubs... If you get an opportunity to get proven talent into your list for a slightly cut price, you take it.

HFF clearly has a bit of an agenda against Brown from pages back where he mentioned that he didn’t like that Brown cared about social (political) issues and was interested in more than just kicking a footy. Every criticism since has been developed from that mindset and I don’t think it’s worth engaging with HFF on this topic.
