AFLCA Champion Player is the pinnacle in my opinion.
I even look at this and wonder if Jesse Hogan was the Coleman winner, how does he not appear on this board?
I know the ball has to get to him and all that jazz… but he can only do the job that his position allows and seemingly was the best at it this year?
I dunno, conversely If a back pocket in a dominant team doesn’t lose a single contest all year, he still won’t pole many votes.

Just checked the votes and Bont isn’t in the top 11 players as of now…
Didn’t this guy get voted the most valuable player this year by his peers for his efforts?

I was dreading a Syd v Gee granny… legitimately wouldn’t have cared about the result between those two and was questioning if I even really wanted to waste an afternoon watching that game.
At least with Brisbane there’s a chance of a team that hasn’t won it for 20 years to win it and be redeemed from last years loss.
Sydney as a club just bore me to tears. I don’t hate them, they’re just so, meh

Has Aliir Aliir lost a single contest in this game?

Rioli probably isn’t the player Sydney want to be giving a reason to play better

ben brown in 2021 was integral to our premiership
Oh I agree, I had it in my head he came to us the same year as Langdon so I stand corrected

Yeah you’re right, I was wondering if there was someone I might’ve forgotten later than him.So no trade wins for the 21,22,23,24 seasons.
Eeeeesh, that’s a long time.

Who was the last player we traded in that was a win for us?

I blame Demonland for not processing my edit of car to care.

We finished fourth then kicked 7.11 & 9.17 to go out in straight sets by a collective 9 points. It’s hardly a stunning success.
Absolutely agree. Nobody cares about the ‘almost’ teams. Ask the saints circa 09’/10’ etc.

I feel sorry for both of the GWS fans, but that's what builds character and will make their eventual premiership win all the better.
I’m kinda stunned that they still don’t have a crowd

Straights sets exit for GWS. Clearly the club has poor culture 😀
Mate, they don’t even have fans to care about culture

daniher nailed those last 2 goals. clutch from him
Career defining. Taken him from a ‘what it’ player to genuine gun. This is what he’ll be remembered for.

Can we talk about the failure of investment in western Sydney? Waste of money for the afl.

Geelong will smack em anyways

That 50 was created by the umpires in the first half because a player gave the ball to the wrong person. Then when asking who to give it to they pay the 50 for time wasting.
Exactly! It isn’t the players fault if they can’t hear the umpire
-
Man I hate that rule. Surely the umpire has to make sure he’s heard before giving a fifty??

He had a really horrible run when he was with us. Losing his dad and getting cancer. Doesn’t get much worse for a 21 year old.
Seeing him succeed now is really nice to see. Really can’t see how you’d begrudge him.Exactly. Some people don’t come back from that let alone do what Jesse is doing.

2024 Brownlow Medal
in Melbourne Demons
Posted
Yes, good points.
Huh! Imagine kicking basically 7 goals a game for a whole season and losing by six votes in the Brownlow count.
